This store is sooo ADDICTIVE! Every time I catch the train home from Grand Central, i always end up stopping by here and spending tons of money. I swear, i really need lotion and candle therapy. I promise to come in and strictly browse and I always walk out buying something. This is probably one of their biggest stores. It has a large selection of candles, creams, lotions, plug ins, body mists and so on. The list goes on and on. The staff here are also super friendly. BBW is the place I go to get my self-foaming hand soap, hand sanitizer and wallflowers (air freshener wall plug). They have multiple sales over the year. And they carry products with tons of different pleasant scents. My personal favorites are sweet pea, Japanese cherry blossom, and frosted cranberry. I love checking out the hand sanitizer carriers they have, they are all very cute. I went into the store today to take advantage of $9.95 candles and the staff was so well prepared and organized and KIND. We only had to wait a few minutes outside. Once we were in, they were so helpful and kind and they had all the scents we were looking for and then some! Check out was organized and a breeze. There was someone on line making sure social distancing was enforced and the cashiers took frequent hand washing breaks. Great job! I'll definitely be back. read more

Their selection is great, the store is well-organized, and there are always nice sales here (sometimes independent of online sales). In general, the employees here are helpful and nice. I docked two stars because, the last two visits I made, in the last month, I had some meh experiences. Namely, one of the ladies working at the cash register literally demanded that I hand her my phone so she could swipe through my email coupon. This is during the covid pandemic, mind you, and while the store is making extra efforts to provide a sanitary shopping environment. I feel like this practice totally undoes what they are striving for. I offered to hold up my phone so that she could scan the barcode, or swipe through it myself, and she refused to do it that way. Another time, when I brought in a candle to exchange, the same employee demanded to swipe through my entire order confirmation email. She clearly saw the candle I bought in the order, but did not stop swiping until she saw the rest of my order, the total amount spent, and other private information. Overall, I felt this was an invasion of privacy, not hygienic, and not in line with B&BW's no-questions-asked return and exchange policy. I was pretty upset with how rude and plain over-the-top this employee was. It's too bad, because I am a long-time B&BW loyal customer, and I could not see myself visiting this store again - and certainly not during COVID. read more

For whatever reason, the 6 train was running with extensive delays and I decided to walk to work from Grand Central. As I'm walking, I pass Bath and Body and realize I had an epiphany, maybe I should write a review.... I've only probably shopped here about 50 times in my lifetime! A So here it goes, Bath and Body has something for everyone, it's the perfect place for gift shopping I have bought things for my lady friend, relatives, co-workers and myself! They also have a small section of items for men. This particular location is compact, but that is a good thing sometimes. All the shelves are very neatly stocked and orderly. The customer service is excellent. The employees are helpful, but not in an overbearing way, more to guide you through your purchase or in my case as to what smells good from a woman's point of view. I love this store. It is fairly small but carries just enough products. They have year-long sale events going on just like all the other BBW around the country. They're very organized in the store- when you walk in, one staff would welcome you with a splash of sanitizer and give you a paper bag as a shopping bag, and they'll lead you to where you want to shop, register and the exit. They make everything safe and all stores should be like them. read more

came for candle day and the customer service was great. luckily there was no line. there was a staff at the front door pumping out hand sanitizers for all of us. then another staff giving out bags/cartons to put our candles in. we skipped the bags and went straight to browsing the candles (got too excited!). although the staff were busy, they were kind enough to recommend me scents that I was looking for. very helpful and even offered me a bag after I picked out a few candles. all staff had a cheerful and polite attitude. made the shopping trip fun and festive. I recently purchased some products from here and left them somehow. I called and was told to wait for a call back. I then never heard anything . I called back and asked for the manager and was told I would get a call back. Never heard anything back. So I called their store relations number . They said they would look into it. I let them know the products were for my boss and family. I don't have time to wait. I then went to the store again and spoke with Sandy the manager and she couldn't help. I was told I HAVE TO WAIT TILL NEXT WEEK. This is totally unacceptable as I had all the information they needed to find the transaction. So I guess I'll have wait for 4 or more days to see what happens. UPDATE: So apparently "upon review of security footage" I apparently left with the bag. Although I'm 99% positive this is false I have to take on loss on this case and say to not shop at this particular store. If you want you can the same products cheaper at Marshall's and Burlington's. I have had issues here a few times in the recent history of shopping with them and this is the last straw. read more

This location has recently opened...apparently after a refurb. Anyway, I was in search of some bubble bath for a long weekend away with my smokin hot fella. I preface this by saying, I DO NOT like perfumes and such as they give me a headache so my criteria was something that packs lots of bubbles but not a scent that would have me hurling up chunks in the jacuzzi...they had it! Japanese Cherry Blossom bubble bath. There was a sale on of Buy 3 Get 3 Free...that was entirely too much for me so I stuck with just buying the bubble bath but couldn't resist the matching scented candles. The staff was more than helpful but not pushy (which I appreciated, cause I hate a hard sell). Products were laid out well & lots of samples available. I am chemically sensitive so any time I walk into a place like this or Sephora with many fragrances looming about I try to get in and out as soon as possible. I got a gift card for Christmas so I decided to spend it on a lifetime supply of handsoap. They are 6 for $24. The store was not overly crowded when I went, and the sales people were helpful. I found some soaps for the bathroom and kitchen like the lemon and warm vanilla sugar that will work well and are mild. The Japanese Cherry Blossom was too overwhelming of a scent for me when I tried it at home, so that one I will not be getting again. Check out was quick, I could have done without the pet names from the sales clerk, but she seemed to be one of those people who call everyone honey, sweetie, or love. This is not a review for their soaps and fragrances, but for their customer service, or lack thereof. I went in on Thursday before July 4th weekend and the soaps were on sale for $3. They had been at that price for several days, but I found some time in the morning to stop in. I had three soaps in my hand as I waited on line to pay. There was only one girl at the register, about 2 to 3 associates walking the floor, and about 2 other patrons browsing, etc. Basically, the place was empty. They finished ringing up the girl in front on me - the only person in line - and I was ready to pay. Next thing I know, the customer wanted FOUR bags and gifts wrapped. The sales associate was only too happy to accommodate, despite that I was also on line and waiting to pay. I asked if anyone else could ring me up, but there was actually no response from the cashier, other than looking back at me and continuing to wrap. I had to leave for work, so I left the soaps and figured I would return. Fast forward about 5 days to the Monday after July 4th and I come in during lunch to grab the $3 soaps I couldn't a few days earlier. But, they were no longer on sale. Now, it was 4 soaps for $24 - double the price. I was annoyed that I missed the sale and was about to walk out when an associate asked me if I needed help. I let him know about the sale, etc., and he said he would ask the manager if they could honor the prior price from a few days earlier for me since I couldn't make the purchase due to their associate's bad service. The manager talked to me three-ways-from-Mars in telling me what the current price was and refused to honor the prior price because, well. . . . too bad, sucks for me that the sales associate did not try to acknowledge that more help was needed up front. That's basically what he told me. Overall - bad customer service. Again, I walked out without any soap. If I'm spending $6 on soap, or $12 at regular price, I wouldn't be getting it at BBW. read more

As with every place in the city - it can get crowded but staff here were friendly and went out of their way to help. The minute I walked in I was greeted - told about the sales - even given a plastic cover for my umbrella. Had to pick up some wallflowers (plug-ins) for the apt - i liked how they placed matching candle samplers in front of the wallflowers so you could test the scent - a nice sales lady brought me over a shopping bag - got my stuff and checked out in no time. They have a great variety of plug ins and candles - some of their lotions though are a bit too strong scented for my liking - good selection overall read more

I have shopped at this location numerous times and every single time, the staff [from the management to the employees] have been helpful, professional and friendly. I encounter so much bad customer service in NYC, that whenever I encounter people who go out of their way to help me, I feel the urge to Yelp about it. Their sales are also really great and if you time it correctly, you can leave the store with some great bargains. I've been shopping at this location for years, and will continue to do so, in large part due to the staff that works there. Keep up the great work! Well, i guess it's not that bad,.. I mean the idea of them selling other products. Well maybe it is, because when i got to that section i kinda got really confused. I think they should leave that much variety to Sephora, they do it better. I usually go to the body shop before i go to B&BW, but i do have my favs here. (lime and coconut Verbana.. sooo yummy) But theres really nothing great about it. the same old , Vickies body products concept, just with " natural " smelling flavors. They have really great smelling hand sanitizer... lol.. and most of the time they have fruit mixtures flavors, for their products, and in the summer, they are drinks.... What can be better than smelling like a strawberry daiquiri, sitting on the train... yes .... it is a bit awkward. read more

This store is the best smell good store, In MY opinion of course. I enjoy the layout of this location with the cash registers directly in the middle of the store. First time coming to the store during the holiday. Customer service was great. As soon as you walk through the doors they greet you with a warm welcome and direct you towards a "shopping cart" bag. There are employees in every angle of the store to help when needed. Even with the huge Christmas crowd the store managed to have everything tidy and neat. Plus for them for having 7 cashiers available to help the line move faster. One of my favorite things is using coupons. They always have great deals. The selection of products was great! The service was quick and the cashiers were friendly. The store is small so when it is a large crowd it is hard to maneuver around but the employees are helpful and attentive. I love when they have the semi-annual sale with 50% or more off the entire store!
