Another beautifully decorated and amazing smelling Bath & Body Works. I do like the layout of this store as it makes the displays really stand out, though it may also make the traffic flow within the store a bit challenging when they're really busy. Service here is very fast as you can easily get help finding items and checking out within minutes. Nothing smells better than visiting a Bath & Body Works. I love walking in and seeing what new scents have been invented. On this day, I was here to buy hand soap. I came in, found my soaps, and got out quickly. I was able to get through the check out line pretty fast, which was amazing since the store was pretty crowded. While I was there, I enjoyed the pumpkin spice and fall scents that were available. They also had Stranger Things branded candles. These actually smelled pretty good. For a good selection and ability to get in and out quickly I highly recommend Bath & Body Works at Oakbrook Center! read more

I stopped into this location to redeem some coupons and check out the sales. The day of my visit the wallflower plug ins were on sale. Those were easy to find. However, I was unable to find any travel shower gels at this location. I found that very strange. Other locations have closer to the register and I didn't see any. Also, I was unable to use my app inside the store which meant I couldn't redeem rewards. That was frustrating. The displays made it difficult to navigate through the store. It was hard to walk around and this is even before the big holiday shopping. Save yourself the hassle, check out one of the other Bath and Body Works in the area. read more

SOAP OPERAS Get clean, and smell good doing it. On the hunt for suitable christmas gifts for mom Vicky S and girlfriend Nichole C, I knew that I'd be able to check off several items from my list by shopping at this Bath & Body Works inside Oakbrook Mall. Heck, maybe I'd even find a thing or two for myself ;) Though their selection of seasonal items was daunting, an employee named Felix was able to assist me. They didn't have 2 out of the 3 things I sought, but he offered a few alternative suggestions and was polite in doing so. Nice guy. ( side note: when did candles get so gosh darn expensive?!?! aren't they just scented wax blocks?!? ) The store was bustling with people for the holiday season, yet the displays remained tidy and even the plastic bargain bins toward the registers were well-kept. Checkout was speedy and the lighting inside was excellent. I recall one time I walked into a Bath & Body Works with a headcold and couldn't smell a thing #worstdayever. Thankfully on this visit I experienced no issues with the ol' sniffer. I found some gifts and even a nice pocket-sized hand sanitizer for myself. Whether it's a lavender scented candle, sandalwood body lotion, or lemon foaming hand soap, B&BW has all that and more. This place just irritates me. There. I said it. I think the service is terrible- no one knows anything about anything (yet they all talk into their little ear pieces and send you to a different part of the store) and they all act like they are doing you a favor to help you find something. They used to carry one scent that I liked (sandalwood and rose) but guess what? They have discontinued it. So they told me back in December to come back in January as all the discontinued scents show up for sale then. So me being the "ever hopeful" went back in January and no one even knew what I was talking about. While I'd like to be done with this place, I can't really walk away as this seems to be the store that when no one knows what to buy you for a gift- they pop in here a buy you a gift card or a gift basket of something. A little hint to all- fragrance is a personal thing- and buying all the stuff here does not necessarily mean it's a good gift. I've got closets full of this stuff! Reminds me of when my grandma died and we were cleaning out her house. There in one of her closets were all the nightgowns I had purchased (on her request) for the past 15 years- many in the original wrapping paper! Just goes to show you, you can have too much of a good thing! There are other locations of this store that do a much better job in servicing its customers. I'd suggest you find them. read more

Drawn in by the 2 for $24 three-wick candle sale, I walked into this Bath & Body Works store. I was promptly greeted by someone and offered help. The employees were very helpful without being stalker-ish. All the displays were organized and well stocked. I smelled almost every candle in the store before selecting two. Checkout was quick even though it was a pretty busy Sunday afternoon. Bath & Body Works can't go wrong. I'm addicted. read more

The greeters don't say anything they just stand there looking stupid instead of asking can I help you with anything. They are in need of customer service training very bad. I can't rate B&BW less than 3 stars, because they really are helpful when you need them. The problem is, I never need them. And they stalk you, and pretty much demand to know what you are shopping for. Ever heard of browsing and I like smelling things? Back off. If it weren't for a nearly empty store on a Tuesday morning, and then being hounded by not 1, but 3 employees, I left empty-handed. I like to feel relaxed when I browse, but I get the feeling they walk around with a stopwatch to see how fast they can get you in and out. I worked at a B&BW and I know they are pushed to meet sales goals, like all retailers, but they really to BACK OFF. Stop complaining that your favorite scent was discontinued. Didn't realize how much I like this place until I went in today and saw it closed. It's true! Oak Brook store is closed until November 1st for remodeling.. Whaaaa!!!! A nice blonde opened the door to inform disappointed guests... It has re-opened since their huge remodling. It's smaller, the selection seems smaller, the store decor seems busy.. Carol, I feel your pain. I've shopped at Bath and Body Works for years, and have found dozens of scents that rate everywhere from "gee, this is nice" to "wow, this is amazing!" And you know what? EVERY SINGLE ONE HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED! Cinnamon Bun Heaven, Strawberry Daiquiri, Mocha My Day, Take Your Sweet Time, Simply Lemon, Iced Tea Twist, Sugared Shortbread, Black Raspberry Vanilla, and many MANY more. And what do we get in return? Yet ANOTHER Cherry Blossom. How many versions of Cherry Blossom have they done so far? Something like five or six? Insane. Oh, and don't forget Chocolate Amber and Black Amethyst! You know, because everyone wants to smell like a gaggle of old ladies attending a wedding. Their "introductory sales" are embarrassing. Buy 3 Get One Free? Why would I purchase FOUR BOTTLES of a scent I've never used before? The only good sale they have is the Semi-Annual Sale, which is the one Carol mentioned. They really only have discontinued or about-to-be-discontinued products in this sale, and the prices are great, but you'd just better hope you don't get attached to the products because you'll never see them again. Bath and Body Works is starting to get notorious for this and it's REALLY annoying. When they discontinued the latest victim, Take Your Sweet Time, which we've been using religiously as a facial wash for about a year or two now, we just decided we'd had enough. Why shop at a store that just leaves you empty-handed when you return to buy their products? One can only search for replacements for so long before giving up, and that's exactly what we've done. I've been a long time customer of BBW and have always had pretty good experiences with the company. However, recently I stopped in to do some holiday shopping and was more than impressed with the attention I received from Maddie who assisted me that day. Even though it seemed the store was incredibly busy due to the holidays, Maddie didn't seem like she was too busy to help me and took as long as I needed to complete my shopping, showing no frustration or aggravation when I couldn't pick a fragrance. It really made my shopping experience much easier and I will definitely be coming back for more of Maddie's help. She did a great job and is clearly knowledgeable about the product as well as great with customer service -- a true asset. read more

The products that claim to be natural are not. That is false advertising. I have sensitive skin so I bought an item that supposedly has chamomile and lavender. The parfum was so strong that I broke out in a rash. I went to return the item and the snotty young girls working there demanded an ID to return a $5 item. Last time I will shop at any Limited Corporation company ever. Horrible return policies and non-customer service oriented. Then, I went to another store and returned it without having to provide my blood type. So, the problem is with the employees working at the Oak Brook store. Never again. read more
