I wasn't planning to stop, but the store was buzzing and the holiday display pulled me in. They had three‑wick candles for ten‑something, so a couple jumped in my basket. I'm a Milk Bar girl, so I grabbed pieces from the collab too: body cream, hand wash, and shower gel in those milk and cereal milk scents to add to my stash. Service was genuinely great today. This is by far the worst Bath & Body Works location I've ever dealt with. They've canceled my orders multiple times--not just once or twice, but repeatedly. After today, I've reached my limit. I will not be placing another pick-up order at this store. The last time I ordered, they partially canceled my order claiming items were out of stock. However, when I went to pick up what remained, the "missing" items were sitting right at the register--clearly not even looked for. That lack of effort and attention is incredibly frustrating. Save yourself the time, gas, and money--either order online or go to the Emeryville location instead. That store has never let me down. read more

Staff is horrible here! From the second you walk in the door, you are treated like a thief, one girl literally followed me around the store. Every time I grabbed a candle to smell it she kept asking me can I help you find something over and over.... Like yes lady you can help me find some space to BREATHE . She made me feel so anxious and uncomfortable. I literally just put my bag down and walked out with nothing. Arrived on Saturday afternoon. We were there around 11am. There was a like outside to get in the door. There were 6 people infront of me when I arrived. I've never stood in a line to get into the store before. When my time came I was told I could go in. No real warm greeting. After the wait you'd think they'd greet you warmly with a welcome or something. When I entered someone handed me a basket, that was a nice touch. When I asked the price of some soap I was told to look on the back. I mentioned that they were on sale. No comment. I found what I was looking for and checked out. The checkout line went pretty quick. There was only one person in front of me. They didn't ask if we were a rewards member, but was asked to enter our phone number. I'm not sure what that did as they didn't say anything. I'm glad I came in. I was able to get the body wash for 50% off so it was worth my stop in. This is a no thrills store. I had an odd experience at this Bath & Body Works. I was excited to check out their Semi-Annual sale and pick up some good deals. Upon entering the store, felt it was a little strange that none of the workers greeted me. There must have been at least 5 workers on the floor and I was the only customer in the shop at the moment. They just walked by without acknowledging me and continued to stock the shelves. I brushed it off, as I assumed they were all laser focused on their tasks. What threw me off was their change in behavior when more customers came in after me. All the workers unanimously were welcoming them with smiling faces and asked if they needed help. That happened a few more times and the difference in treatment was very apparent. I'm a fan of Bath & Body Work's products and their sales, but the vibes were not it for this store. I probably would not be coming back and just shopping online. read more

Awful customer service. The vibes are not friendly at this store. The employees make you feel like they don't want customers in the store and it also looks like they don't like their own coworkers. I don't get a sense of a team here. I was in today (10/25) for a sale and the shop looked a hot mess. When someone asked the manager (I think she was the manager) for something she said "I don't know. I've been off for 2 days and came back to this mess" Maybe keep that to yourself? No one is available to help. I couldn't find a scent I was looking for so I opened a drawer. Another employee told me I wasn't allowed to look in there (I didn't know and apologized even though she was being rude about it" a better answer would've been "what are you looking for? I can help you find it" They also let the line get to 10 people before another employee got to the register. People were leaving the store because they didn't want to wait. Someone wanted to leave the items on hold and was told they had to wait in line. It was as if they wanted the person at the register to suffer by herself. Everyone in line felt bad for her. I don't know her name (Karen or Karla? She spoke Spanish) but she deserves a better team. After 3 people someone did eventually come help at the register. I know people come to this store for a deal, but if you don't want to leave the store in a bad mood, I'd suggest the one at Southland. Five star products but two star customer service. Very unpleasant "greeter" at the door. Ok yes it was freezing but if customers are loyal enough to wait in line, a smile goes a long way. The sign said 14 customers allowed in at a time so an accurate count is important in 42 degrees with wind & light rain.... Great sale ongoing but bundle up. Hands down to the staff. 1st and foremost. They are incredible ladies. Friendly and knowledgeable! Month six of the 'quarantine'. There is a capacity limit. 6 customers at a time. So ofcourse there is a line. There was a long one on this particular Saturday afternoon. I ended up in line for 50min. By the way, as stated in the beginning of this review, 6 is the max, so if you like to group shop, it will slow you down. U can go in one by one, or wait for the equal amount of people to exit before you can all go inside. I had no other plans and I like to smell before I buy. So i didn't mind the wait. The store was fully stocked. It didn't seem like they were out of anything. There was a buy 3 get 3 free sale, along with wallflower refills for $3.25. It doesn't matter which Bath & Body Works that I go to for their products. I happened to be in the area, taking care of business at Nordstrom Rack. Armed with a $50 gift card that has been sitting in my purse for about 3-4 months, and since I was running low on my favorite product (deep cleansing antibacterial soaps), I stopped in to browse and shop. Even though it's not as huge as the B&B Works in the Westfield Shopping Center in San Francisco, it still had the products that I needed. They had a special on the soaps - 6 for $24. I love their pocketbac antibacterial hand gel and it was 5 for $5. Then I showed my email from them on my mobile phone to the sales representative to receive a free item (value $12.50) if I made a purchase of $10 or more, which I did. I have an obsession with canvas bags and they had the perfect one for me in red ("spice up your life"). It was pricey ($9.50), but I only live once and I might as well enjoy it. This location is on the smaller side, but I was still able to get a good amount of stuff. Since it is smaller there were only 4 people allowed inside at a time, so there was at least a 20 minute wait to get in. When I went it was windy as it often is over there, so come dressed for cold weather and be prepared to wait. The staff was helpful, will return. read more

I actually went a week or so ago to try and buy wallflower refills, but I didn't know they closed early. So arriving 30 minutes or so before they closed, the staff closed off the line on me and told me that they were closing but will resume regular hours for the other days. I thought, "ok, that's fine, but I didn't realized that and I went all the way out to get stuff but I ended up not getting anything." Yesterday my bf and I went again to buy 3 wick candles and the line was already pretty long. I appreciated that they were enforcing maximum capacity and all the staff wore masks/gloves. The girl working in the front was really nice as she greeted everyone and explained how the bags worked and also proved us with the candle holders in the bottom of the bag. We went in to grab what we needed and they also had ground placements for the checkout line. The girl at the checkout was also really nice and patient while I ran back to grab a body cream and gave me recommendations on which one to get. Sorry I couldn't get the staffs name for my second visit, but I appreciated their help! Also appreciated how they followed protocol to help keep shoppers safe during the holiday rush! read more

Sales at these places must be hugely impacted by the downturn in the economy. If you can't pay your mortgage, you're not going to be buying soap for $5.50 ... no matter how delicious it smells. Lucky for me though, I got a bunch of gift cards for being on winning teams at work (that I don't actually contribute to) so I had money to spend. While the store was clean and well organized - all scent coded, the signage was weak and confusing. I've worked in retail a long time - enough to know that most consumers don't spend 2 minutes reading your sign (and the small print) trying to figure out what your promo applies to. What the hell is the signature collection ... is that by scent or by product type? So because of the threshold I hit, I got a free sheep and something valued $12.50 or less for free. But as I was paying for it, I realized that had the cashier been a bit smarter, she could have easily upped my purchase size by another $7.00. An offer I probably would have taken cause after it's all said and done, I really only paid $5.00 out of pocket. I would have paid $7.00 for 2 more bottles of deliciousness. read more

We were lured in by their new smell of Orchid and Pineapple Oil. I thought it was a new scent, it is. In their oil only. Phooey. They do have a new Enchanted Orchid scent that my mom was really feeling. They were having the 5/$25 special so my mom started grabbing things. She has a tendency to take signs for their worth without reading the fine lines. She really wanted Hand Cream and I noticed it wasn't part of that "fine print". So I asked the very friendly sales girl. She said yes it was included. Hm.... okay?!?! She would know right? She works here. So we have 5 of their items and were at the cash wrap and she's ringing us up, but for some reason it's not giving it to us for $25. So she goes to ask her manager and she was wrong. Like I thought! The hand cream not part of the promo. She sucks. I win. So instead we got the 6/$18 antibacterial soaps. That's a whole lotta soap but there's no B&BW in the islands, not yet anyhow, as far as we know... and mama likes to bring the stuff back for the house. I wish they still carried Pearberry, but it's discontinued. My mom was looking for the Gardenia, but that's discontinued and SUPPOSEDLY coming back in June. I love this store but it is on the small side but has what you need. This specific location was remodeled so it has a White Barn candle section in the second half of the store. I love the upgrade of the store, BUT I feel like it is smaller and cramped. There was not many people in the store but it felt crowded and the line is not clear. People still don't help out as much, but I know it's cause there's only a limited amount of people working who may be helping people. I will be returning to the store soon because I am obsessed with their candles, lotions, and hand soaps. ALWAYS use a coupon here, it helps you save a lot and you usually always get one thing free with a coupon!
