I've gone into Chris's a few times and the Asian Chinese, whatever culture he is no pun intended is one of the most rudest disrespectful unwelcoming persons I've encountered. Today I went in to purchase hair, and I intentionally tried to engage with the younger African-American guy working in there, and this guy inserted himself where he wasn't wanted, and he knew it because he kept looking at me out of the side of his eye, he knew that I did not want to do business with him because he has very poor customer service intentionally. I'd ask the young man if he could give me some glue hair glue lace front glue specifically and I told him exactly which one I wanted. I got a call and while taking that call, the guy rings up some glue without showing me the glue, the Asian guy, not the young guy that I asked for the glue. Normally when somebody is requesting something you wanna show them confirm with them that that is what it is that they're asking for he did not do that. He just rang it up. I left there and something told me to look in my bag before getting on the freeway and I did he had sold me a bottle of some kind of glue for $34 when the glue that I buy is 15.99 at the most when I got back to the store he had such a funky attitude. I mean nasty Which pissed me off and I gave him exactly what he warranted. We know that most customers are of a certain demographic if you will, but to take our money and treat us like I felt like he was treating me like I was less than very demeaning Very demeaning. I would never recommend anybody go in that store and in fact when I brought the glue back one customer heard me asking him. Why did he sell me that bottle of glue when I asked for a clear bottle with a black label and his response with some snappy shit that was disrespectful. He's a horrible human being. He is a horrible human being. I have been a hairstylist for 37 years and I've never experienced that kind of cockiness that pompous A-hole you just don't get to treat people like that. You don't get to take money from people and treat them like that and I'm very serious about that. I am very serious about that. I had a great experience here. Came to get some curly hair extension for my daughter's dance recital and an older gentleman asked if I needed help and pointed me to the section I needed. A young man came and asked to assist and help getting the color match for my daughter's hair. I recommend this beauty supply store. Ive been going to this beauty supply since Chris was in the small shop on 143rd a LOOOOONG time ago ! I dont go often now which confirmed for me the consistent far and fee betweens clearly the customer service has changed . This last time i went was it for me . I came in after work looking at hair and i grant the grace for everyone to have a off day without swift judgement but if someone who has made as much money over the years off of US cant demonstrate restraints on their bad attitude then you dont deserve our business !!! I came in asking a couple questions about a couple wigs and Chris was the only one a available and was so rude . I have sent so much business to this place and i saw it was a nastiness across the board not just towards me . I get it you may have to deal with bad attitudes all day and complaints , people trying to get over and thats why im always pleasant and never fail to greet the staff with a smile and pleasant energy . I dare not match his energy like many or say any thing rude nor point out his breezing by customers fast acting like he didnt want to be bothered i just left quietly. I since then have gone to other beauty supplies and bought everything i needed . Sometimes familiar isnt always best and these businesses have to remember they're not above closing down . Companies with a stream of stores have shut down . You really have to watch how you treat people because product can be bought anywhere now even online . I walked into this store to find so many choices of wigs and extensions that I was overwhelmed and thrilled. I have been on a reduced calorie diet which lead to major hair loss. I have always had very thick healthy hair and this hair loss and thinning was causing me some self esteem issues. I've tried extensions from Amazon, only to stash them in my closet or donate them to my local donation center. As luck would have it, "Chris" was behind the counter asking what he could do to help. I explained my situation and he turned around to the wall of extensions and then placed 2 options on the counter. "You can spend this much or that much, but either will look good". The color was an exact match to my dyed hair color and I was so excited to see what it looked like installed. I sat in my car and pulled the extensions out of the package and effortlessly clipped them into my hair. It has been 1 year since purchasing my extensions and since then I have dyed them, washed them and even sewed additional clips onto the main piece. My hair is growing back, but I like to enhance my hairstyles with the extensions. I am going on a trip to Europe and want to look great when I visit my Son and his Wife, so I will be stopping by to get a new set of extensions. I'll make sure to call before, so Chris can help me once again. I've been coming here for years. It wasn't until recently that I either started paying attention to my receipts or they started scamming me but I've noticed my tax ranges anywhere from 5%-13 Their rewards program is also a scam. I spent over $200 and didn't earn any rewards points. I came back three months in a row and my points were the same. For whatever reason I kept giving them chances but never again. I was recently charged human hair price for a human hair blend. I picked out the wig I wanted and they sold me a totally different one. This place has great selections for a beauty supply store HOWEVER I am giving them a 1-star because during my first (and last) experience shopping here, I paid for my items using my credit card and was over charged (by mistake by the cashier) more than double what my total was! I tried to dispute the charge and the owner was not trying to take accountability for the mistake and blamed me for not noticing the error quick enough and for signing the receipt. Granted it was my fault for not noticing at the register because I was so excited to find a beauty supply that had everything I was looking for but what a TERRIBLE experience. These people are rude and nasty. I asked if they had a particular item, one of them told me its over there. I had just come from the aisle he was referencing so he came off his perch and showed me that he didn't have the item but he had something similar which was not what I asked for. I recently hurt my back and the item was on the bottom row so I asked him if he would hand me the alternative item he was trying to push off as the one I was asking for. Well he practically threw it at me. Also, I had just left Walmart and forgot to get styling foam. At Walmart the styling foams range from $3 -$6. The exact same items at Chris's are double the price literally double the price, I saw one for $13. The price gouging and lack of respect are crazy. Don't shop here or at the other one across the street they are the same way. These people are out of control. Keep your self respect intact and shop elesewhere or better yet shop online or at AliExpress yourself thats where they're getting all this cheap crap fom anyway. read more

I'm extremely disappointed as I write this post. My mom and I have been going to Chris's beauty store for the last 4 years and have always had a pleasurable experience. Yesterday evening I was in dire need of a frontal and my sister and I went to the store. My sister, who he didn't know, went inside as I had to make a phone call. She asked for a quality frontal and he assured her that a frontal he had was high quality. After she purchased and by the time I got home, my hair dresser told me the frontal I had purchased was poorly made. I went in this morning with my sister, and chris not only refused to give a refund, he refused to give full store credit as well! It disappoints me that we have been loyal and trustworthy customers for so long and he did not try to fix the situation. I am disgusted with this establishment and their customer service. I bought what was consider their top shelf quality hair for a sew in. I am not a stylist or beautician of any sorts but was told the hair would not shed and would last. After only one week, there is so much shedding and when it was washed for the maintenance, the hair came out in handfuls and the color was bleeding!!! I paid good money for that hair. Chris has always been great but I had the work experience with his brother who actually owns this location an older gentleman. I recently went there with my mother and felt so unwelcomed. We were followed around the store not to ask if we needed help but I'm assuming whether we were stealing. I was there to buy a wig for the first time so I started picking out wigs and putting them in an open area in front of the mirror to try on. I noticed that as I was bring a wig to try on he was putting them back on the shelf. Then start yelling "one at a time one at a time". I was really turned off by the treatment and decided to take my business elsewhere. As were leaving he proceeded to tell us how he didn't need our business and that he was the #1 beauty supply. Horrible experience. There is a lack of knowledge base about black hair and products. I brought loc hair from this location and quality was not that great. Yesterday I brought crocheted wavy hair, the hair was very resistant, so much so I couldn't even tie a knot near the base of my scalp. I was very disappointed.
