Once installation was ready to begin, John and his employee Ray were there every day by 7:30am. They were delightful and chatty, polite, and clearly experts in the field of flooring. They removed the old carpet too. They worked quickly, were very communicative so my parents knew when they'd need to stay off the floor for any particular number of hours, and they cleaned everything spotlessly so there wasn't even a trace of sawdust when they left. They also rejuvenated an existing staircase made of softer wood, and though it won't hold up as well as the new hardwood they installed everywhere else, they sanded and stained it so it looks rustic and fresh. John came highly recommended by others, and now we'd recommend him highly to anyone else looking for a new floor installation or the refinishing of an old floor. Daniel got back to us right away and came out to quote the job. He and his crew finished the job in two days, transforming the look of the room. He was on time, professional, and extremely efficient. The room is right off of another room with hardwood floors. Daniel was even able to almost perfectly match the stain of the wood in the other room. Also, the "dustless" in the name is no joke. Initially, the estimate lacked any detailed information and any scope of work... just a price. When I insisted we met to clarify, his price was $1000 more than the original price and it became clear the scope of work he had in mind did not align with my expectations. The cost was then raised significantly more than that to be almost $3k more than the original estimate, which I could not afford. George said he would call me back that evening after looking at the numbers to see if he could do better. He did not ever call. The next day, when I decided to hold off due to budget concerns, I communicated this respectfully. (I never signed any contract) In response, I received a series of unprofessional and harassing messages from George, the owner, (at 4:30 am!) including insults (calling me stupid several times) and inappropriate language. ("FU") This level of disrespect and unprofessionalism is unacceptable and left me shocked. I recommend steering clear of west Hartford Finishing.
