Once installation was ready to begin, John and his employee Ray were there every day by 7:30am. They were delightful and chatty, polite, and clearly experts in the field of flooring. They removed the old carpet too. They worked quickly, were very communicative so my parents knew when they'd need to stay off the floor for any particular number of hours, and they cleaned everything spotlessly so there wasn't even a trace of sawdust when they left. They also rejuvenated an existing staircase made of softer wood, and though it won't hold up as well as the new hardwood they installed everywhere else, they sanded and stained it so it looks rustic and fresh. John came highly recommended by others, and now we'd recommend him highly to anyone else looking for a new floor installation or the refinishing of an old floor. Roy set a time to come later in the week, spent 5 minutes here. Explained time crunch and said he would have a quote that night. No quote came, next day no quote. Called Sat, was told it would be emailed over shortly. No quote came, called Tuesday, was told he didn't do the quote since they couldn't take the job for months. Fair enough but dont drag me along if you're too busy. We think he didn't like us, he freaked out over a blind basset hound with 1 eye and asked us to put the dog away since he was scared. I think he passed on us since he heard us laughing at him. Call somewhere else....

Our contractor hired these guys and the work was repulsive. Upon first look everything looked good, since we weren't living in the home, however.... We had to have the first tile shower they put in ripped out because it looked horrendous- chunks of grout missing, sloppy cut tiles, uneven spacing. They blamed this on the fact that we picked herringbone tile and "non Italian" tile). The second redo was just as horrifying (again chunks of grout missing) and resulted in our shower leaking into the downstairs. Steve (the owner) came to look at the shower and was an entitled snake who took 0 accountability for the work his guys did. There was grout missing and cracking all over the place! Again, they made another excuse and blamed it on bad grout. THEY PICKED THE GROUT. This isnt to say our contractor wasn't at fault either, but between the two, AWFUL! For the third time, we hired our OWN guy to come fix it (who isn't even a professional tiler but he blew these yahoos out of the water). STAY AWAY FROM BT TILE, or if you do hire them, be sure to inspect every little thing and prepare yourself for small claims court! THE PHOTOS SHOULD SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES! I was worried about the dust from sanding floors but I didn't have to be. They used bags on the machine and covered my belongings with drop cloths; there was little clean up. We had our harware maple floos of 23 sanded and had 3 coats of water-based stain added.; we love the finish! Alfredo came and showed us samples of stain and finishes prior to deciding. We are glad we stayed with Pillar Floors from out first install!
