The man that goes by "James" or at least that's the names he gave me was a pig and as soon as I made it clear I wasn't sleeping with him then he had an immediate attitude and rude as could be. Made me fell attacked and inadequate and feel disgusting and weak and scared and like he was about to pull down an alley way and rape me. I had to keep telling him to stop so I could get out on a main road. He played sweet and innocent when I got in but definitely took advantage that I didn't know exactly where I was since I'm not from here. The worst experience I've ever had in a cab and tipped good so he wouldn't be upset and attack me on my dark road. I placed a call to BATS for a ride. 30 minutes later I called to inquire about the ETA. The dispatcher, when told my name & location, laughed with a "a cab has been dispatched... it's about 3 minutes away. Now it's 47 minutes since the request, I call again. I'm told the usual wait is 45 minutes to an hour... now I'm told the cab is about a minute away. After a few more minutes, a cab pulls in, but it's not "BATS" it has a different name & phone number. In another minute or so, I get a call "your cab is on site." So, I get in this cab and the driver dismisses questions about how, or if the companies are the same... The metered fare ranged from $25 to $33 depending on the route. The local route was cheaper because of the shorter distance, the highway route more expensive because it's a mile and a half longer, and really wasn't that much quicker. The first call went wrong. I tried to give the dispatch person (Judy) the location and the nearest landmark as a tourist, that wasn't good enough for her. She hung up on me. Your driver did this to avoid the traffic light at the intersection. The owners of Oakhurst have a very prominent sign telling drivers to not do this. I arranged service from downtown St Pete to Tampa international and while the driver was on time , the vehicle had a very strong cigarette smoke odor. It was gross ( I could handle a faint odor, but this was over the top). Then, on my return to Tampa international, I arranged a ride home with a town car. With this service the driver is suppose to meet you in the baggage area. No one showed and when I called the dispatcher I was told the driver had problems and would be late. I told the dispatcher to cancel the service and that I would arrange an alternative. Later I received a text from the driver scolding me for not waiting and accusing me of " wasting his gas", I won't use BATS in the future. read more

If I could I would give no stars. I used bats for the first time today. All I have to say Is wow. And not wow in a good way. Taxi #31 picked me up at target on park and Tyrone. Cab was clean. He got their in good time. The problem was the driver was cussing. It was like every other word was cussing. Then someone honked at him. And he started yelling out the window and cussing. I don't know if that is against your policy. But as a passenger I was kinda nervous riding with him. And some of his driving was questionable. One point he came with what seemed inches from rear ending another car. My suggestion call United taxi. They are busy but they are worth the wait in my mind. I called them up for a delivery. They quoted the delivery at $12.50. I paid for the items then called back the taxi company to pick it up. They then told me it was $20. I complained about the bait and switch but no deal was possible, that was the best they could do. So the taxi comes they did arrive quickly but the taxi driver tells me it's 23.50 and I give her 25 and then she tells me she has no change. They've lied to me about how long they're going to take; one girl even turned around 1/4 mile away from my house with me in the car because she then realized that I wasn't her fare, it was someone else in my building. Poor does not even begin to show how bad my experience was! I spoke with the manager and told him the address I wanted to be picked up at. The driver picked me up at the address they have on file. When the driver called me I told him he was at the wrong address and I was a block over. He signed and hung up on me so I had to walk back to my apartment where he was waiting. He dropped me off in the van and I told him to open the door on the opposite side. My laptop bag was leaning against the door I was at. He did not listen and opened my door, my laptop fell out and now it's lagging and the DVD slot is broken. The contents of my bag fell out and the driver did not even bother to say sorry and didn't even help! My fiance called and spoke with a different manager. She said I never spoke with her brother about where to schedule a pick up. He was told the line was recorded and I was never told that. They claim it is my fault and the manager I spoke with was siding with her brother. What AWFUL people! Never again! After much arguing, I was told that my bag fell out of the van because it was me who was juggling with my stuff and I dropped it. But that's all fine as it is my fault.
