I went to Batteries Plus after Sam's Club did not have my car battery due to it being a special order item. I have a Toyota Prius base model and their battery has smaller posts than a typical battery. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the store and I brought my battery in and fortunately they had one in stock but it was almost $300 but it has an unconditional 4 year warranty and I don't have to take my receipt, just give them my phone number and take the battery back and they will test it and give me a new one. Against my better judgement, went into this place looking for a specialty watch-style battery (not for a watch). I say that because I made the mistake of buying an AGM car battery from the chuckleheads about 5 years prior with a 5 year warranty and had to go through their stupid agonizing warranty process 5 times. Yes, that's one a year, yes, it sucked and so do they, and before you think the car was the problem, the subsequent non B+ battery is going on 3 + years strong. Despite having the number of this specialty battery I couldn't get help for a long time, and even then the "help" was a hindrance. I ended up walking out. Better off on Amazon. I purchased a lefetime battery replacement for my Fossil watch. I went to the location at 3838 East Thomas Road in Phoenix, AZ to get the battery replaced. The peson that helped me had a VERY HARD TIME getting the caseback off to provide access to the battery. He finally removed it and replaced the battery. The caseback is now terribly scratched. When i complained, without offering an apology, he said he would send the watch to a jewelry store to get it replaced or polished. This would take up to 2 weeks. I can not be without my watch so I asked to speak to a manager. He was the manager. I then asked for the name and number of the District manager and he refused to provide that information to me. I left the store and called corporate and left a message for the District Manage. I have yet to receive a response. The customer service is TERRIBLE. I stopped in recently to see if they could help with a halogen bulb I needed a replacement for. Tried to shop local instead of hitting the big box or going on-line, but that appears to have been a mistake. First things first, the location for this place is just terrible. Parking lot is already cramped, but some genius decided to build another business in one corner, making it even smaller. Top that off, they have one entrance torn up and a backhoe parked there, taking up even more space in the already cramped lot. Couple this with nightmarish traffic at this spot and it's just a pain in the ass to get in or out of the lot, whether you go out the West or the South exits. With that out of the way, there's the store itself. On our way in, we were greeted to the sight of one of the "women" working there who was smoking herself to an early grave, just outside the entrance. Thanks for making sure all the customers get a sniff of your cancer stick, I guess? Once inside, the whole place was disorganized. A couple employees in one corner doing I know not what, backs to the customers who just walked in. Wasn't sure if I should interrupt or just look around on my own, but I must have made enough eye contact to warrant attention at some point. I asked about the bulbs and then got to follow as the employees wandered the store, which wasn't really anymore efficient than if I had done it myself. Remind me again what the point of asking where something is if the employees don't know either? The only options they had were over-priced halogen replacements, no LED conversion bulbs for the most common T-3, 3" / 78mm style, naturally. I asked if it was something that could be ordered, which got an unenthusiastic, "probably not" type of response. Didn't bother to check either, just asked another lady working there, who brusquely responded that LED conversion bulbs of this kind were not available (as in did not exist). Seriously. I ended up walking out and not buying anything, and they were happy to let me leave empty handed. Went home, spent 30 seconds on Amazon to find the LED conversion bulbs I needed, and will have them in my grubby hands within the next day or so. I'm sure these people probably bitch about the Internet putting them out of business, but frankly speaking, if I have to leave their light bulb store empty handed when all I needed was a bulb, they have bigger problems. If you want to breathe some carcinogens on your way in, get zero customer service from lackluster employees and receive only misinformation and half truths about the availability of what you're looking for, this is the place for you. read more

Well with the assistance of a lady about three weeks ago, I bought these four bulbs for my kitchen and they were $36 total sale I came back today which is Saturday something March something and although they let somebody go in front of me that had a big sale, when I got to the front they said they couldn't return them without a receipt. I stopped into the Batteries Plus store on Bell Rd the other day out of desperation. My phone had frozen up to the point it did not recognize finger taps or anything, could not get in. I bought a new phone but needed the data transferred from the old phone. I had many pics of my now deceased dog that I could not bear to lose. Google said they do phone repair so I gave it a shot. The young man at the counter said they do not do data transfer but after I told him about the pics of my dog, he said let me see your phone. " 2 hours later I walked out of that shop with my heart full of gratefulness and a renewed faith in humanity. Not only was the young man kind enough to spend the time helping me with a service they don't even provide there, but in the interim, his co- worker, Sheila, went above and beyond for a 94 yr old woman whose phone service went out. Keep in mind, this is a battery store... once again providing a service that was not in their purview. But I had to go quite a ways out of my way to get there, and then after waiting for quite a while, they said it would take an hour and a half. I left but then came back because it was so far to go home and come back, and I had somewhere to be. I came back and got my phone. Then called Batteries Plus in Surprise ( where I normally go), and they said it would take half an hour to an hour. Will be going there tomorrow. The Surprise store has always been great! read more

I had dropped my Cell Phone and smashed the screen and thought I would get it fixed at Batteries Plus, I had a good re-pore with the one in Scottsdale fixing my Watches. Setup an Appointment and had my sister take my phone over there and found out the screen was out of stock so they told me it would be a week before they got the parts in. I should have just gone to another one. Finally called and they had the part and I already knew that I would be paying a little over $200 to get it fixed and I was OK with that. They fixed it and I got it back and put it into my case and didn't realize that one day when I took it out of the case the screen was separating from the phone. I setup another appointment to have them look at it, only to find that they said they had NO information in their system that I had ever brought my phone there. I was STUNNED!!!! In this day and age of Technology they couldn't find records of fixing my phone. I was out over $200 dollars and still have a phone that i keep in the case since the screen is separating. It still works THANK GOD. But I couldn't be more disappointed in BPB!!!! I would think twice before going to this location. read more

This is the worst experience I ever had. I went to ask for a battery for my key and was told yes and how much it cost so I said perfect we'll take it and then he said that he'll go change it for me without asking and so I said OK cause I thought that was included. Then I leave and call my dad because the price for a battery for a key fob sounded absurd and he said that they tried to sell me something to get more money. He ended up calling and she said that if we would have said who he was, they would've treated us differently and not charged us as much. Then went to the store and ended up talking to Sheila. She made it very clear that if I would've told her my dad was that I wouldn't have been treated differently than every other customer. I let her know that I felt that wasn't right, and every customer should be told the choices of options between getting a warranty or not getting a warranty and having the employee not make it seem like that is included within the cost. She told me that when I get a job one day, I will understand and I went on to tell her that I do have a job, and I am actually successful in life, and she began to laugh and tell me to never come into her store again. She then wanted to know what I did as my career or in my life. it's sad to see that an older woman doesn't clearly know she's going to be more successful in life than someone who is much younger than her and hasn't had much life to live to be successful in. She was rude and unprofessional in front of multiple customers and made it very clear that it's all about the money and not actually helping the people. She also said that maybe next time I shouldn't go cry to daddy to solve my issues. It's sad to know that people in this world cannot solve issues. Respectfully. This is very sad because a lot of older people go into that store and are probably sold on stuff that they don't need. Beware of this place. The worst customer service experience you will ever encounter if you ever visit this location. They act like you're bothering them when you enter the store. Also I ordered a key fob to be picked at this location a week ago. I got a call yesterday saying the key was in, so I go to pick it up today. Well they lost it. And was told to return Monday. Monday? People work and I went in because they said my key was there but they lost it a made no calls to see where the employee who called me to ask where he put the key. I purchased a vey expensive streamlight flashlight. I thought it would be nice for work. I ended up not using it at all. Still new in the package. I brought it back with the receipt. It was 3 days over their 2 week return policy. Not what I call great customer service. I won't be back ever. Do yourself a favor. Order what you need off amazon. They take returns "no questions" for 30 days. I prefer to support local businesses but that's rediculousand I would have saved $50 on this purchase UPDATE Manager contacted me, but I have been to busy to get back to him. Came in to get a new car fob programmed because my old one broke and wouldn't stay on my key ring anymore. The lady told me it's $40 regardless if it works and asked if I wanted her to open the remotes to look for an ID number to which I agreed. After a little while she came back and said neither remote had any numbers and to try getting a case for the broken fob at checkers and when i asked if i could just swap the chips she said no they were different. I went home and opened up the fobs myself and both fobs had identical circuit board numbers as well as matching circuits. I switched them and the new case works just fine with the old circuit board. I'm not even sure she even opened up the new fob but she did a good job scratching it up where she was trying to pry it apart. I won't do business with liars. read more

We have also used them to replace cracked iPhone screens. Very happy with this location! Very nice people. Had an issue with a solar flower lamp for my wife's garden area in the backyard. New battery would not make the item work anymore. Lady in the store (manager??) took the device apart, replaced a couple of little parts & put in a stronger battery. Viola! Works like a charm and she did not charge my wife. My wife has an aura that sales people seem to like, and it allows her to get away with freebies. Just always feels good in this store. We liked them so much we went back and bought a $400+ marine battery from them for our RV camper. We have had that battery for a year now and it recharges and holds power better than any we have had and used since 2011. read more

Purchased a new car battery and was given a battery without the terminal cap or the vent plug. Store was rude on the phone, corporate even more rude. I went to a competitor to pick up a vent plug to make the battery safe (its inside the passenger compartment so its a safety concern). Since I did not have the old battery with me they said I had a month to return it. I tried returning it but they said its actually 14 days. Its a neat scam as their core charge is....$18!! So that's another $18 on the cost of the battery. On the phone they asked if I would bring it to them anyway, guessing they get something for them and just dont want to give me my money back. Learned my lesson shopping local. Costco had the same battery for much cheaper, friendlier service and no scams. The reason local businesses die is not unfair competition from the big stores its that the big stores offer better service and often times for much less money. Phoenix losing Batteries Plus would be a good thing. Going to see what BBB, attorney general and MasterCard can do. At the least they can make corporate answer my complaints. I'm very pleased with my experience at this Batteries Plus. I needed a new battery in my remote alarm/key on my 04 Honda. It was dead. I dropped into this store on a Friday afternoon. A couple people were in the store and I had to wait few minutes for someone to help me, he opened my key, replaced the battery and checked that it worked. It took maybe 5 minutes and only $4.15, and I was back on the road happy as a clam. Again, I'm very pleased with these guys. read more

Car died in a parking lot down the street from this store. My friend let me take his car to get a new battery. Clerk told me over the phone that I could borrow a wrench since my car was stranded. When I got to the store they wouldn't let me borrow the wrench because they "might need to install a battery for a different customer." I told them that I am trying to do business with them for this exact purpose, but my statement fell on deaf ears. Even the manager shrugged me off when I was trying to buy a $110 battery from them. All I needed was to borrow a wrench for 20 minutes! I left and went to pep boys about 1/4 mi away. They were great and let me borrow a wrench without any difficulty or pains. Their warrantee is better (36 mo replacement vs 24) and price is the same. This was the last time I will ever use batteries plus. read more

The worst customer service I have ever experienced at one these stores. I stood around waiting to pay for my purchase while two employees were in the back talking about Doritos in the frig. When the one employee that was on the sales floor finished with his customer he totally ignored me and asked another customer if he needed help (he came in after myself and a couple of other women). While I was picking up some smoke detector batteries, I noticed they now sell replacement vehicle fob plastic shells made by Duracell. They have a variety covering many makes and models. My Chevy truck's fob didn't work as the plastic outer shell was cracked and it flexed too much. For $19.99 including a new battery it was a great deal. I only reused the circuit board . The swap out took maybe 10 minutes and it works perfectly. The sales tech looked up the exact one for my truck. No programming necessary. I know I saved a considerable amount of money versus going to a dealer. Thanks, BPB! read more
