Batteries Plus has officially lost our business, and we will not be recommending it to anyone. My family has been loyal customers for years, especially at the Pendleton Pike location. That loyalty ended on January 19th. Some time ago, my retired father purchased and had a key fob programmed at Batteries Plus so I could safely warm up my car while waiting inside at work overnight. I work nights and must be out in all weather, including winter storms. When he tested the key fob for the very first time, the remote start did not work. When my father returned to the store to ask for help troubleshooting, he was immediately met with hostility from the store manager, Ryan Nicks. Instead of offering assistance or basic customer service, Ryan was extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. He brushed my father off and tried to blame our vehicle rather than even consider that the key fob Batteries Plus sold and programmed might be the issue. After confirming, with proof, that the problem was in fact the key fob and not our vehicle, my father returned again. He had paid $200 for this key fob and was simply asking for help. Once again, Ryan Nicks responded with the same hostile attitude, refusing to be helpful and escalating the situation unnecessarily. My father is not someone who causes scenes or looks for confrontation. For him to come home upset says everything about how poorly he was treated. It is incredibly upsetting to know he spent his hard-earned money trying to keep his daughter safe during winter nights, only to be met with disrespect and outright hostility from a store manager. Advice to ownership: A manager who treats loyal customers this way is a liability. If this is how Ryan Nicks behaves with us, it's almost guaranteed other customers are being treated the same. Point blank, period...we will not be back, and we will make sure people know exactly why. read more

I went to battery plus today to get my phone fixed. It's a cracked screen on a one plus Nord that I purchased from T-Mobile for 300 dollars. The guy tells me it will cost 245 to fix my phone. I say Why he says the time the labor. I say No the phone only cost 300 he says It is what it is. I leave & google the price it literally says to repair a one plus Nord cracked screen broke screen it is between 60 & 80 bucks. But his price is his price it's that It is what it is. So rude & I know he lied about that price because for 55 more dollars you can buy a new one. Costumer service is horrible & if this the price for a screen repair throw the whole store away. read more

I purchased a battery and had to use the warranty, battery went out again, machine taken to shop,was informed that the battery was no good. Battery returned to ur shop, charged was told it was good. Informed by the mower shop that battery wouldn't hold a charge. Went to check on battery, battery is now dead again, upon return to ur store was now informed that it is no longer covered under warranty read more

Andrew is amazing he did what he needed to do with my cell phone it took him all of 10 minutes it was well worth my time and money well spent! Batteries Plus sold me a cell phone battery - with a lifetime warranty, that quickly drains energy, and takes hours to recharge. My phone is not in constant use, but the battery discharges energy so fast that it has to be recharged twice daily. Two trips back to the store proved worthless. The technicians plugged in my phone and said it looked fine to them. They refused to replace the battery, even though it cost me over $45.00. I later learned I could have purchased the same battery elsewhere for about one-tenth of that price. They also demanded I give them my phone number and email address "to authorize the warranty." All that resulted in was a lot of third-party telemarketer calls and junk email. I will NEVER make another purchase from Batteries Plus. read more

Went to Batteries Plus at Pendleton Saturday afternoon 8/1/20 to replace a security alarm battery. There was one person in the store. The other was outside programming a key fob. There was a line of people waiting. Complaint #1 - they need more staff on a Saturday afternoon. It took a long time for counter person to finish waiting on first customer while more customers entered the store. Meanwhile there's a man waiting in the store without a mask on. This is a small space. Even if other people are wearing masks, someone not wearing a mask can infect the others. This is common information. Masks protect others not self. If both people are wearing masks, than everyone protected. Counter person said nothing to the unmasked man. I asked counter person if he had a mask for this man. After a while, he did offer man a mask. But only after heated argument erupted between unmasked man and me because I said something. Complaint #2: Shouldn't have fallen on me to say something. Should be store policy. Other stores don't let people in unless they have a mask on. Not that hard. When I complained to manager Ryan next day, he said they will never confront a customer about wearing a mask. It kind of defeats the purpose of having laws and protecting people against covid 19 when that is the attitude. Not wise when covid is still running rampant in Indiana and when masks are deemed one of the most effective ways to get it under control. Everyone should do their part - including businesses - to get this pandemic under control. This store is not. And finally - Complaint #3: after waiting 20 minutes I give counter person Sam the old battery so he can match it for a replacement. After I get new battery home, I discover that he gave me the wrong battery. So after all that, I have to go back to the store to replace it. No apology. Sam's response when I tell him he gave me the wrong one. 'oh ok'. I say not OK, I should get compensated for the wasted time, wasted gas. He gives me $3 off a $33 purchase. Not enough. Cost me more in time and gas than that. When I complain to Ryan, store manager the next day - no apologies, no offer to make things right, just justifying that's the way they do things. When I ask for the name of the owner, he refuses to give it, tells me to contact corporate. When I ask for corporate contact info, he says look it up. Lousy customer service. But most importantly they are not keeping customers safe. I will not be going back. read more

This is the second time I've been in this shop- I have to say WOW on the customer service. Anthony has helped me both times and has been so super helpful. My favorite thing about this shop is they keep your purchases on your customer profile so if you loose your receipt- no problem. (I loose receipts like its my job). They have a lifetime battery replacement plan, and they just look my name up for past purchase ans viola! Also, I got a simple snap phone screen there- which has a warranty. My actual phone screen AND my protective cover (the simple snap) cracked today, and he suggested that I get in contact with simple snap who has a warranty doe not only their product but your actual phone screen- as your screen shouldn't crack once it's wearing the protective cover. He said to try them first before paying $159 for a replacement screen- it's nice to know that sales people are trying to help you save money by directing me towards the warranty instead of taking my money right away. This review is based on factors other than product. I have been here in the past and had quick, efficient and polite service. But in light of our current dire and immediate pandemic situation, I do not wish to shop at this establishment based on what I experienced. There were no customers other than myself. When I walked in, there were three employees, two wearing masks and wearing them appropriately. The third, who seemed to be a trainee, had her mask below her nose, her nostrils fully exposed. The employee doing the training seemed totally oblivious. What can I say. Even a second grader is aware that the nose is an integral part of the respiratory system, a direct link to the lungs. It seems that the manager of this store, a store which was not bustling with business, doesn't really care about the health and well being of its employees and definitely not its customers. When this all blows over, I might be back, but until then-no. If you care about your health and safety, you might want to avoid this establishment. read more
