On May 17, 2025, I purchased two Duracell batteries from the BatterysPlus store located at 1759 NE 163rd St, North Miami Beach, FL 33162. Two months later, one of the batteries failed, showing a voltage of 1.45V. I returned the battery to the store, anticipating a replacement. The store manager, informed me that they would attempt to restore the battery and estimated that it would take 4-5 hours. The following day, after more than 24 hours, I received a call from the store. I went to the store to collect the battery. Although the battery's specifications were not entirely accurate, I took it and placed it in a carton box in my car. Upon removing the battery from the box, I noticed it was leaking a significant amount of liquid. I promptly contacted Dean to explain the situation. He stated that neither he nor the store was responsible for the issue, and it was my problem. I attempted to discuss the matter with him again, but his response remained unchanged. My efforts to reach the service department at BatterysPlus LLC HQ in Wisconsin yielded negative results. I contacted the service department multiple times, and they indicated they would communicate with the store owner, who would then reach out to me. They declined to provide any information regarding the store owner. After several weeks of waiting, I managed to find the store owner's email address and sent him a message. However, 1.5 weeks later, I had yet to receive a response from the store owner. All of the above is supported by pictures and docs The clear conclusions are: - The batteries sold by BatterysPlus LLC are defective. - The service department at BatterysPlus LLC is inadequate. - The BatterysPlus store at 1759 NE 163rd St, North Miami Beach, is subpar and does not accept responsibility for their actions and the products they sell. read more

STAY AWAY... DISHONEST PEOPLE. I've bought several batteries there over the years and never needed to use the warranty except for this last one, which I bought in February 2025 for $227.90. The Duracell battery had a 4-year warranty (until February 2027), but after 2 years and 6 months (August 2025), it completely died. I removed it from the car and took it to the store to complain, and the employee, named DEAN, tested it for 3 and a half days. In the end, he said the warranty doesn't cover it because it was negligent use... I have no idea what negligent use there was if the battery was only installed in the same car since the purchase. While he was testing the battery, I needed a new battery for my jet ski. I saw on the website that they had it and decided to call to confirm and avoid wasting my trip. DEAN confirmed and said that if I buy it in store, he would give me the same 10% discount I would get on the website. I then went to the store and looked for Dean to make the purchase. He was busy and asked another employee to make the sale. I reminded them both to apply the 10% discount I would have if purchased online, which they didn't do, and I only realized it when I got home. When I went to pick up the car battery, I complained about the discount that hadn't been granted, and he said he couldn't refund the payment I made and that he could only grant me a credit for a future purchase. Obviously, I didn't agree because who knows when I'd need to buy another battery... Maybe a few years down the road. Unfortunately, these people are dishonest, they don't honor the warranty, and they don't keep their word. I went to Costco and bought the same battery much cheaper with a 3-year warranty for $179.99 (I paid $227.90 at Batteriesplus 2 years and 6 months earlier). For me the lesson was learned. To them, I wish they make good use of the dollars they got through dishonesty... They will never see my money again. read more

As of today, this business has 2.5 stars which is about right. The sad thing is that, when I came here early on a weekend afternoon this place was consistently busy so they're potentially sitting on a really solid business, but due to the incompetence of the 2 staff working that day, all 4 of the customers that were here along with me had less than great experiences and lots of frustration. First, customers arrived and were waiting for several minutes to be helped, while both the guys working here stood behind the partition wall to the side where the cell phone and electronics repairs are done. There was no one manning the checkout or on the floor helping people. Finally after waiting for a while, one customer peered his head around and asked if one of them can come out and actually start helping customers. The employees seemed somewhat taken aback and speechless at first, but finally emerged to start assisting people. One guy had a motorcycle battery that had failed. It was the 3rd he'd purchased here and he wanted a replacement, but something better than what they'd been selling him. Also, since the battery he bought was only 9 months old and it was warranted for a year, he wanted a warranty replacement or a pro-rated discount. Staff had little knowledge of the product, the customer knew more about the battery and which component most likely failed than they did, and though they hooked up a meter to show him the amp and voltage output of the battery they were selling him, it was obvious they didn't fully understand what they were doing and they fumbled often. In the end they told him they'd sell him another new battery (same brand and model as had already failed on him twice), but he'd need to return to talk to the manager or owner at some other time about the warranty for the dead one. I came here to pick up a few hundred $$ of batteries I'd ordered via this company's website. I also needed a charger that would charge 2 of the batteries I bought in series, and needed some dielectric grease. Only 1 employee knew where the batteries I'd purchased were located, the other was completely lost. There were no boxes to hold the batteries and charger I bought so I could carry them to my vehicle, one employee had no idea if the charger I bought would work for my purposes and when he asked the other employee, he said "Oh yeah, that should work" without even looking up from his computer, so I don't believe he even saw the product in question. One employee had no idea about the grease, the other guy said they had some greases but didn't know if any were dielectric. When I asked where in the store those were located so I could have a look, he didn't answer. Luckily the customer who was frustratingly dealing with his motorcycle battery told me there's an auto parts store down the street that carried what I needed. That customer was more helpful to me than the employees. It should also be noted that when they scanned the charger I was buying, they tried to charge me $10 more than was clearly marked on 2 shelf tags. I had them charge me correctly, per the shelf tag. I also found out later that the charger has a rebate, but I wasn't told this in the store, I only found out when I got home and looked up information on my own to see if it would actually work for my needs since neither employee here seemed to know. 3rd customer was looking for a specific bulb and stood there for a while to be waited on, only to receive a quick answer in passing from one of the employees before he finally gave up, stated he could get what he needed much cheaper at another store a few blocks away and walked out. Lost sale due to staff incompetence. 4th customer wanted a screen protector for his iPhone. Though he was the 4th customer to arrive, the employee looked at his phone first and quoted him the price of of the protector, before being reminded by another frustrated customer that there were 3 others in line and waiting ahead of him. Again, this place has a lot of potential, and obviously people are coming here and patronizing the place and want to buy stuff - but if this is the best support and help the employees can offer, this Batteries Plus Bulbs store may not be around very long and if they are, it'll be in spite of themselves. read more

Horrible place. The battery comes with a three year warranty and it barely lasts a year. We went there the other day and the manager was a a complete asshole. Said their battery wasn't the issue but my car is the problem. Went to a different place got myself another battery and my car started working right away. Maybe you guys are the problem. This place treated me like I was a crook or attempting to commit fraud by Rob Semiglia. It made me feel really uncomfortable. The pricing are good but this place has lousy customer service. I would advice making purchases through another establishment. I purchased a battery online for my motorcycle and when I got there I was given a different product. I inquired about the product that I purchased and was told in wasn't in the store but they had the similar product in stock. To me, a phone call would have been nice so I don't get there expecting one thing. Moving forward Rob did help me chose the actual battery that I needed. However, when I was checking out. Rob told me that he has to make a copy of my license and debit card because of fraud, which was odd. I politely asked for a refund of the product I bought online and took my business elsewhere. My advice would be to find another Batteries Plus Bulbs to purchase from as I did. The next Batteries Plus Bulbs that I visited after leaving store treated me like a fair and honest customer. Extremely disappointed and will never go there again. The technician is incompetent! I called last Saturday and asked if they could replace my iPad Air battery, the cost and how long it would take. He said yes and it would take a couple of hours. I went to pick it up and was asked if I could come back on Monday. I was there already so I left it. I picked it up on Monday. It wasn't charging. I dropped it off Tuesday evening. Picked it Wednesday evening. It's still not charging. Dropped it off this morning (around 11 a.m.) and was told it would be ready around closing time. I took my galaxy g6 in for a battery repair with the display working. Upon receiving the phone back the display no longer worked therefore I left the phone for them to repair what they damaged and after waiting almost the entire month it was even in worse shape than before. They did not compensate me for anything ,and clearly do not know what they are doing I would never recommend anyone going to them for any repairs. My daughter's phone was serviced here twice. The first time was an $180 repair of the screen. The phone never worked properly and was brought back to store in a timely fashion. David claimed it was physical damage and wouldn't cover it under warranty. They replaced the same part and the screen still doesn't work and will not warranty it. Both David and the Manager Jeremiah has an opportunity to correct the situation, but they opted to try and get me to buy additional parts, instead of standing behind their service. On April 16, 2019 I bought 4 marine X2 group 31 batteries, "premium" quality according to them, the main decision factor that made me purchase this expensive batteries was the 4 year, free replacement warranty they advertise for this particular product. two years later, well within the warranty period, 2 of them happen to not take or retain charge, so they are bad, and for all intents and purposes they are useless, however the vendor refuses to honor the warranty, allegedly because the batteries are below 10volts. Their explanation? it never happens, if not for user error . As a user, If they are below 10v they are bad right? I have to mention the 4 batteries are part of a 6 battery bank in boat, all 6 connected to the same charger and used under the same conditions. Yet just 2 go bad for user error. Bottom line this vendor makes false advertisement about the products they sell. Stay away from this franchise and this particular location. Just received the worst customer service from apparently the franchise Owner Tomas On November 16 purchased 4 batteries for $11.99 plus tax On November 17 went back to return because we did not need them never opened the package. Walked into the store there were 3 employees and one gentleman in jeans working t the register with one of the employees after a few minutes of waiting one of the gentleman behind the counter asked if he can help. i said i had a return they looked at me and proceeded to say we usually do not take back batteries i asked why they said store policy (no where was any information about that). Then the Owner says we will take back but there will be a 20% restocking fee I was shocked because on their return policy it says absolutely nothing about restocking fees just you have 14 days to return the owner proceeded to tell me we have to get back our credit card charges.s I did say you have nothing stating that. he rudely argued with me about and while on the phone with somebody the owner finally just told the employee just give him the regular credit which they did. read more

This is the worse retail experience I've had. They are very nice and helpful when they are trying to sell you something, but if you want to return an item, even with your receipt and within the 14 days(according to their policy) they will jurk you arround for days. I called them many times, the manager never returned my call, the employees are rude, and helpless. How can a business survive, if all they sell is battery and bulbs, but they are not being loyal to the customers. If you're buying something from them, please make sure you read their notice, that is hidden under the desk, and its only shown to you when you want to return the item, even if you have the recept and even if you are returning within the 14 days.
