The fellow working here was fine, helpful and informative. What I don't like is the way the chain advertises. Yes they do some car key fobs but there are many, many exceptions. The lifetime warranty that is complained about elsewhere is actually a good deal and I've found all locations honor it. It depends on your key fob. I have one in which the battery lasts forever so I didn't get the warranty on that one, but the other fob the battery drains every couple of months or so and this has been totally worth it. read more

This is a good place for all your batteries and bulbs need. I have been here a few times for getting watch batteries replaced. I have received good service. I haven't shopped around for battery replacement prices but my assumption is that their prices are competitive and reasonable. I usually get the lifetime warranty batteries for my favorite watches. Their cost for the battery replacement may have gone up. I was quoted $21.99 per watch but with having multiple watches requiring replacement batteries, I was given a $2 discount per watch. I vaguely recall the cost of the lifetime warranty batteries being $16.99 but I am not sure. Anyway, my watches were long overdue for battery replacement so I got that taken care of here with no problem. They enter your watch and battery information under your phone number in their records so that the information can be retrieved next time you are there. Unfortunately, none of my watches from today got lifetime warranty batteries previously so I had to pay for all of my watches. However, if any of the watches' batteries died and had the lifetime battery installed then you get a free replacement. I recommend checking them out. read more

Wow!!! Ethan at BPB was super professional and confident in his ability to replace a battery on a iPhone that had a very heavy weight fall on it and could not be easily opened. When you have people like Ethan working for you, customers tell their friends and your business grows. I purchased a new-to-me iPhone 6 Plus from eBay. The seller stated that the battery may need to be replaced but I held out forever until it got too frustrating. Had I known it would only cost $39.99 (with their coupon) to buy a new one with installation included I would have done this months ago! The young man taking care of me knew his stuff and completed the job sooner than promised. If I ever need a new cell phone battery again I'm coming here. And if ever need a specialty bulb or battery (of which they have many) I'm checking here first. So happy with this and their service. read more

I'm furious! This was a nightmare and my iPhone screen is still messed up. Mitch fixed my screen and when I got it back all the color and light was gone. When I brought it back I waited almost 2 hours for it to be done. When I got it back it was the same but worse. Mitch said "yea we get bad batches of screens some times" Now the screen is moving. They messed up my phone and when I asked for my money back they still charged me $20 I paid $1000 for my phone and Batteries Plus has caused me massive grief time and aggravation. I'm furious. Be careful bringing your things here. Thanks Frank! I spoke with Jason and gave him the opportunity to fix this situation. He was rude and had ZERO sense of customer service. My iPhone is part of the battery recall that Apple announced some time ago... that being said, the Apple store is back ordered in the replacement battery. In addition to the Apple store being back ordered, they require an appointment and it takes approximately 2 hours to do the work for them. Fast forward to batteries plus, I called , the battery was in stock and for just 10 dollars more than the Apple store the entire procedure was painless and done done with in 25 minutes! Great fast service, no appointment needed! I detest the idea of trekking through Northbrook court of Woodfield mall in order to get to an Apple store. I'm thrilled with this location, the service and time it took to get what I needed done. I have many friends who are under the recall and I'll be sure to mention my great experience and iPhone that now has a fresh lease on life. Thanks batteries plus!! read more

I brought an iPad in for repair. I suspected that it needed a new battery but wasn't sure. I don't think that they did any diagnostics first, they just replaced the battery but it didn't hold a charge. (As I found out when I took it home - they hadn't bothered to check their work). Then they sent it out to their iPad repair center. Weeks passed, no problem found. Once it was back at the store, they swapped the battery two more times. Every time I called, they claimed that they were just about to start work. Then I'd call back a few days later, and again I'd be told that they were about to start work. Finally after 8 weeks I was given my iPad back, totally dead. I took it across the street to Cell Phone Repair and it was fixed in less than a week. Among other things, it turns out that the people at this location didn't know how to properly install an iPad battery and even left out a crucial part. I give them 2 stars instead of zero because they did refund my money and were pleasant. read more

I recently bought in my iPhone with a cracked screen. It took three trips to the store before they repaired it. (Obviously, I couldn't call them to check on the timing since they had my phone!) I then left for a 3-week trip abroad and my iPhone acted like it had a mind of its own. Websites were jumping all over the place, my emails were erratic, and my phone service was completely gone even though I was in a high service metropolitan area. I can't quite blame this store for the last two, but the fact that all these things happened at once made me think that the quality of the glass is inferior and can disrupt the phone's circuitry. Apple confirmed that. If you need batteries of any kind, I suppose this place is OK, but so are so many other stores. Oh yes, one other thing... Batteries Plus Bulbs doesn't seem to know what UNSUBSCRIBE means. I'm receiving useless irrelevant emails weekly from them, and have "Unsubscribed" four times to no avail. They should understand that by ignoring this request, I'm being harassed by them. read more

I had completely shattered my phone, and needed a place to fix it. I called this place up, didn't need an appointment, took less than an hour and was the cheapest place around here to fix the screen. This place is a joke they don't care if they break your phone in the process of trying to fix it. I'm astonished at their lack of empathy and how they shrugged off breaking my phone like it was somehow my fault when i was only trying to get the charging port replaced and now the screen is shot. I am dissatisfied with this store's service. I asked to replace a battery on my Samsung Note 5 phone, and I was told that it would be ready in 3 hours. I used them since I needed the use of my phone on weekdays (it is a business phone), and I could not just have it shipped somewhere to perform this procedure. Unfortunately, they broke the phone while trying to perform the service. As a result, I needed to buy a new phone from the Verizon store. The phone cost around $600. A week later, I went back to the store and received a refurbished Samsung Note 5 of dubious origin and was still charged for the battery replacement service. I am not happy, since I had to pay almost $60 for the battery replacement on top of the $600 I had to pay for the new phone. Given the extent to which this business messed up, the service should have been free. read more

My problem: I have a Widex TV-DEX controller with a non-swapable, rechargeable battery that would no longer hold a charge. When I went to the unit's documentation, I was told to have the battery changed by my friendly neighborhood audiologist. As the good soldier that I used to be, I called Northwest Speech and Hearing in Arlington Heights IL, and was told that the repair cost would be the same as a replacement of the entire unit with a new one (about $350.00). With apparently nothing to lose (the warranty was long since up), I took the little controller in one hand and the newly minted cost ceiling in the other to Batteries + Bulbs in Vernon Hills IL, and asked if they could help. Within seconds of me entering the store, Glen, the Store Manager, had the unit apart and was looking for the battery number and specs. A few minutes after that, he and his buddy (sorry, I didn't get his name) found the battery in-house and had the old one replaced. Total charge for this battery, new six month warranty on the battery, and service with a smile was $25.73. That's about 7% of the original quote. While I probably won't take my hearing aids into Batteries + Bulbs for service, they are going to get all of my other battery business, and would suggest that you try these folks, as well!
