    Spectacular views! Take your time to walk down to the beach. You will find the beach goes at least a couple miles south. Pay attention to the waves. Also, you will see the occasional seal lion too.

    Lots of excellent views of the ocean. Lots of great sandy beaches to walk on, the visitor center was closed, but the restrooms are still open, and clean.

    Took a drive here from Gold Beach which ended up being about a 45 min drive. We waited a few days to try the "Crazy Norwegian fish and chips". Yelp had some amazing reviews about it and it looked to be the best In the whole area so figured it would be worth the drive. We get there and it's closed the one day we decided to try it!! Such a let down. Anyways this Battle Rock and Beach was a block away so we decided to take a good hour walk down the beach. They should call this place Crab Beach. Most I've ever seen in my life!! Well over 100 shells and a Live one that washed up to our feet! Lots of life on this beach. It was so freakn cool! Other than the history of slaughtering a bunch of Indians at the rock, the formations of rocks and aggressive water was worth the drive. Real cool part of the Oregon Coast

They allow dogs on the trail as long as they're leash and you clean up after them so regular rolls in my opinion. It's a great place to hike with your dog. The trails are decently maintained they are easy to follow and the signage is really clear. I've wandered many trails one that hook up and Link into another trial and one that I've made a choice to walk down a different path and no matter how long I've walked and how many different trails I've taken we've never got lost. It's a great place to grow mushroom hunting as well. I've never run into any problems with trickers or transients. Every trial we've ever taken has led to a positive outcome. I probably spent 15 hours hiking here with my dog and her friends. It's free and not too far away from whiskey run if you want to hit the beach. I don't know anything about The interpreter center or classes they offer here because I have never been here without my pup.

Normally admission is $7 for adults. The lady at the front counter was so friendly. I started by going upstairs where they were having a small craft show. Meet some lovely people with amazing skills. Spoke with each vendor about their art pieces and even bought a few items for Christmas gifts. We then walked around the couple spaces upstairs with exhibits. The upstairs building itself is beautiful. Arched ceiling and old doors. The art on display was a variety of local artists and different styles. We then went downstairs to see a rescheduling art display. I appreciated the beadwork and PNW themed creations. In total, we were there for less than an hour. There's not a lot to see but what was there was nice. They have a good size gift shop but minimal things to purchase. Seems like a missed opportunity. I feel there should be some local artist items as well as Coos Bay trinkets that support local artists talents. I'm sure there are locals who would give a portion of their sales to the museum. Maybe rotate vendors quarterly? I don't know. I just know there wasn't much to purchase or show interest in supporting the museum. All in all it was a nice visit. T thought I took more photos but I guess I was just living in the moment :}
