We may have found our "home" in Oregon…read more Talk about an unexpected gem of a hotel. This little layover may end up being one of the highlights of our trip... did I just say that out loud? With the stunning Rogue River flowing right through the backyard, sitting on the patio was an absolute delight. Lora Jean was welcoming and knowledgeable, we found ourselves popping into the lobby more than once just to chat with her. A few highlights: - EV charger on site (always a win) - Quiet room (Tuesday night in June) and not to mention, clean. - Sink is located outside of the bathroom (huge plus), so you're not waiting for someone to finish a shower to brush your teeth or wash your face! - Warm, friendly morning staff. The shuttered stands along with poor maintenance (broken water fountain at the grandstands etc) made the whole thing look shabby. It's no wonder the fair has lost support. The Tuff Trucks "obstacle" course was a joke, it amounted to a series of speed bumps that were soon flattened by the few competitors who showed up to race. The poor quality of the track cannot be blamed on money issues, it just wasn't done right. Something needs to be done to draw people back to taking part in the fair, and Mutton Busting is not the answer!
