We have lived in this house since autumn of 2002; it's a lovely house, built in 1968 (so it is my…read moreage, ha, ha), it is roomy and perfect for us. It did not take long to discover that in the colder times, mice lived in it, as well. It was never visible, but I brought two cats to the party, as well, and you know what cats do to show love, don't you? If you don't, you clearly don't know nearly enough people who own cats! They hunt the pests (by their or your perception) and leave the dead critter in your favourite place in the house. I praise them lavishly, give them the appropriate love, then remove the poor thing and toss the body (wrapped in a paper towel) and that is the end of it. For the first, oh, 20 years, there was a balanced that worked well: they moved right out when the outdoor temperature hit 13C or 55F, and remained out of doors until the cold (in late November) sent them back in. They lived typically under the stove, were never seen by us and left no sign they'd been anywhere in the house proper, but sometime in 2022, they stopped living outdoors in the warmer times and became overpopulated. This ties in directly with Siobhán who died in the autumn of 2024 and Luíseach, who is almost 15 -- their mousing days have long since ended. So it reached the point where we had to have a service come in and deal with the meeces (if you are age-appropriate to me, you'll know this expression). I met with several different companies, and we decided on Erhlich. We are very happy we did. They look over the house, give us estimates on different things we need to do to keep the mice out (I had no problem with them so long as they respected the rules, but once that ceased, so did my general hospitality. I have little against most creatures. They did successfully (the second spring) remove the groundhogs (very important) and they removed them alive. I was insistent on this. Mice are all over, and I can assure you, they live in every home in this part of the US...if you don't think soo, you have a good balance and you may never be aware of them. But at some point, this may happen to you. If it does, send for Erhlich. They will do right by you.

Don't use them. They had three traps here for five days, and didn't catch one groundhog. Then they…read moresprayed this "lethal" ammonia in spots where they had been activity. 12 hours later, they were back in the same spot. Set us back $850. Waste,

John is an exceptional professional and absolutely wonderful human being. He will take care of you…read moreand he will take care of the animals. If you care about welfare and safety of the animals, John is the only professional you should trust with your case. I live far from New York City in a mountainous and wooded area, you could say I live in the woods. It is an area with a very high animal activity. Raccoons, opossum, skunks, groundhogs, foxes all roam freely here and they are here in abundance. I have a house that use to be a cabin and while half of it now has a basement the other half barely has a crawl space underneath. I had an issue under that half of the house. Many creatures have gotten under my deck and eventually into the crawl space. There was a family of skunks living there as well as a family of groundhogs, with other creatures visiting on and off. I was particularly worried about groundhogs because of their borrowing. Eventually constant digging that groundhogs do could bring a structure down. John has devised a plan on how to exclude the creatures and to protect my property from creatures getting back inside. John has also executed the plan successfully. My crawlspace is now free from its permanent residents and from unwanted visitors. Another important detail about my case is the fact that it started late fall and groundhogs tend to go into hibernation during winter. By the time John has secure the deck and the crawlspace under the house we were not sure if the groundhog(s) were still underneath and went into winter sleep. John agreed to leave the excluders over winter and come back in spring to conclude the job. Also refused to be paid in full before the job is complete. Remarkably the groundhog came out in March, it was sleeping all through the winter. One very important thing to know about the initial quote you get from John and the total price you will pay. While there will always, always, absolutely always be some other place, some other guy who will give you a lower estimate, John will be the right choice if you want the job done right. Mine was a large job and the cost was several thousand dollars and I am extremely happy I decided to agree to Johns plan and approach. Prior to John, I had another "trapper" offer his services, and has only gotten scammed. I should have done my research and read Yelp before hiring anyone. If you are still not convinced, check out this article on John from The New York Times https://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/08/nyregion/08raccoons.html

His approach is quick and he always ensures your questions and concerns are addressed as he works. He is on time and address the problem from all angles. The level of effort and attention provided by Trapper John is one of a kind and definitely in no way compares to what you get from other companies that just rush you along and do anything to get a dollar whether the issue is treated or not. Trapper John is more than fairly priced and honestly worth every penny for his work and he goes ABOVE AND BEYOND for his customers!!! I would hire him EVERYTIME!! Don't waste your money and get a wildlife control Work from some company that doesn't care about how well your wild life issue is handled and doesn't offer a POST CARE strategy to avoid the issue from happening again!
