Never trust Aspen Dental in Topeka! When I went there for a dental crown, they were super nice and…read moretold me my insurance would cover 20%, and I just needed to pay 80% upfront before they could do it. So I paid my 80% and got the crown done. But six months later, I suddenly received another bill saying the insurance didn't pay the 20%, and now I have to pay that part too! What's going on? Isn't this just a scam? What's even worse is that they replied to my review and asked me to call 844-296-0187 for help. I called, but it was completely useless -- no one actually helped me at all. It's so frustrating! I already spent so much money and still had to deal with this nonsense. I just want to warn everyone: don't fall for it!

However, I had a very stressful experience with their billing and insurance process. I already paid my portion of the charges--$2,700 through CareCredit. The remaining $1,600 was supposed to be covered by my insurance. My insurance sent Aspen two letters--one on August 5, 2024, and another on July 15, 2025--asking for the information needed to approve my claim. Unfortunately, Aspen did not send the documents. In the first week of October, I called the office, and the billing staff told me that my concern was on a "ticket" and would take 2-3 weeks to process. I waited, but when I called my insurance on November 21, I was told that Aspen still had not provided the information they needed. Because of this delay, my insurance can no longer cover the $1,600, since the timeframe has already passed. Now, I am receiving voicemails and letters reminding me about the amount due, even though the issue happened because the required information was not submitted on time. This situation has been very stressful for me, and I hope Aspen can improve the way they handle insurance requests and patient accounts so that others do not experience the same problem.

Go to FOX Dental, you wont regret it and will thank me later…read more Issues started with a couple crowns not being right which are still not right. Family friends children departed also due to incorrect crowns, which this office strangely has you sign contracts for the warranty on them so you cant leave. Over the years spent well over $6K with this office and was about to spend another several thousand $, but thankfully woke up and will spend that with a dentist who is more focused on great experiences rather than $. I began to notice this $ focus about the third cleaning when the hygienist constantly tried to upsell me. I had to switch hygienist it was so annoying, plus she was very aggressive on my teeth. Second, when asking questions on billing, the front desk lady Mona had a temper tantrum in front of customers. Final draw was when I went in for a service and was told it would be no charge on "3" different occasions, one while sitting in the chair. Next week, got a bill. Called to discuss it with Kelly who only returns calls when, you guessed it, $ is due. All that came of that convo was disregard of being told there would be no charges and repeating argument that all services are ran through insurance and the bill is due. All around poor experience, poor attitudes, lack of knowledge of crowns, and $ over customer experience.

It's a fun, happy, relaxed environment. I can't speak about the dentist because the dentist I had…read morewas filling in for the regular one. I've gone in for 4 adjustments which I'm told is normal. This last one I think I need a reline on one side. I don't know if they don't do that or what but I was told they can't do anything about the rocking that only happens on ONE side, even when I just push on it with my fingers. Aside from that, I'm mostly pleased overall. They made me a set that opened up my jaw and filled out my face and lips more like when I had teeth.

Affordable Dentures and Implants (AD&I) has been my personal nightmare for the past 6-7 months…read more From my second appointment on, I felt disrespected, lied to and certainly not a welcome patient. As I sat in the waiting room looking at all the posters and marketing material, I couldn't wrap my head around the hype vs. the actual experience I was having. One of the first things I need to address is the fact that the owner/dentist, Dr. Shibin Yu, is not engaged with his practice at all. I met him when I first came in. I saw him briefly for the extractions. That's it. This is an important step in people's lives and for him to take such a hands off approach is unconscionable to me. Poor decisions are being made by his staff, as well as poor treatment of the patients. The information given throughout is inconsistent, contradictory and confusing. The attendants never gave me their names, so I can't use names to describe my encounters with them until later in this write up. . One in particular was condescending, impatient, and just plain rude. My temporaries were miserable from day one. I made two appointments, hoping to get some adjustments for some relief. Little changes were made, not enough to make much of a difference. I was consistently told nothing more could be done, and I would just have to deal with them. I was NEVER able to wear my lower temporary. I struggled with the upper: sore spots on my gums, not being able to eat with them (upper or lower). I truly tried. I wanted this to work. I did fill out a survey early in this process stating it seems AD&I rules are more important than its patients. The comments by staff and marketing materials, "Call us if you have any problems or need anything," seem rather hollow. The side looks, the talking to me like I was a child, the heavy sighs, the whispering to each other after leaving my room, the little temper tantrum by the attendant (I don't even know if they are licensed people!) defensiveness...all noted, heard, and not appreciated. My husband and I paid a lot of money to have these dentures done for me. I'm 74 years old and assume I will be wearing them the rest of my life. I want them right. I want them comfortable. I want them worth what we are paying for them. I was treated like I am a pain in the ass and asking too much. I was even asked at one point, after my upper temporary had been broken by the lab (I assume) and brought back to me worse than what I had been dealing with for the past 6 months, "Don't you think you can just put up with them for a few more days?" No. I don't. That was not taken well. I did not break them. I couldn't wear them. They cut into the crease of my upper inside lip. Every temporary has been way too big for my mouth. I was told that is normal(?). I was assured that permanent dentures will be nothing like the temporaries. Hearing that makes me wonder why the temporaries have to be so miserable. I understand in the beginning one's gums are swollen. Can't the temporaries be adjusted as the mouth adjusts? Apparently not..."nothing more can be done" in spite of all the hype that patient's comfort and dignity is their utmost concern. I finally got my permanent dentures today (8-11-26). The person I worked with, Nikki, was patient, respectful, and reasonable. A lot of adjustments needed to be made, and she did them without making me feel like a PITA. I left wearing the dentures knowing I would have to come back for more adjustments, but I appreciated Nikki's patience. AD&I allows 100 days of free adjustments; after that, adjustments are charged for. After wearing the new dentures for a day I once again cannot wear them because of painful spots. I will make an appointment for more adjustments. One more issue: I am a small person, and over the past six months, I have lost 20 pounds! Five pounds is a significant loss for me; 20 has been life-changing, all because I couldn't eat with the temporaries, making it difficult to eat anything of substance at all. The improper behavior, rudeness, and general attitude of one person specifically made this experience untenable. So, would I recommend Affordable Dentures and Implants? Absolutely NOT!
