I went for several men's cuts with the same barber. All was pleasant at all times and the new remodeling was very classy. Senior discount was used for my tip. All cutters are female as this is primarily a salon for women. No problems but I now go to a closer barber with lower fees. read more

Tanisha is awesome. She has the gift of gab which puts me at ease. The front desk owner, John, is very accommodating and offered cookies and beverages. I wanted a short cut and showed her a picture of Katy Perry's pixie and highlights. She took her time cutting the sides that were shaved and went in slowly with 2 different size clipper levels. First one was longer than I wanted and so she took it down one more shorter. It was very well done and I was satisfied. I went home and put makeup on and played with my hair. read more

Have gone to Morgan a couple times. We were trying to get a good haircut for me. Last time I went in I told her I didn't like how the sideburns were. It's like something flipped in her. Well fine, lets do this and see how you like it! I have discussed with her that I'm trying to look more feminine. I realize that's a lot to put on a haircut. She gave me what I call a "butch" haircut. Totally opposite of what I want. Looked she had put a bowl on my head and cut it. The back was really short. She does a good haircut and I realize people have bad days, but you don't want your hair person to have a bad day on your haircut day. Sorry, but I'm not interested in trusting that again. read more

i have never been to this salon before and I went because it was close to the house . this place charged us 100 dollars for a perm for a teenage boys hair , which was little higher then most but hey you pay for quality right so you think .... we'll within 3 weeks the perm completely is gone and I have multiple friends boys who have perms as well . I talked to a few and they all stated that isn't right there perms lasted 4-6 months depending . I also talked to a few other people who do perms just to see what is going on . they stated whoever did it prolly didn't do it right or does perms usually . I called the manager there to just ask about it because we paid for a service . he argued that well may be because your hair is heavy lol ? huh and then he got upset because I said it just doesn't seem right and he hung up on me !!!! what a place and manager . you should care about what you do and what your customers say. I have a huge part in this community and I will be posting this everywhere for people to know not to go to this place . Online I found this same answer everywhere and even hair stylists I talked to ! Why did my perm go away so fast? Because the hairdresser did not appropriately soften your hair, some perms frequently fall out. If the initial phase is done correctly, your hair can absorb the new curls, leaving you with lifeless, undefined curls that quickly straighten. read more

I went there twice. The first visit was ok though I didn't find the owner (? Man sitting at the desk) all that cordial, the stylist really tried to accommodate my wishes and gave some good suggestions. She did great with my haircut. I decided I would return 2 weeks later for a coloring. The second visit was a killer for me. My stylist was clearly suffering from a hangover though she tried to blame it on "allergies" She could hardly function. She bombed on the first try of getting the color I wanted and had to reapply a different color. I tried to explain to her the color I had in the past but she wouldn't listen and insisted that she was the expert. The second color was better ( after 3 hours) but when I got home and looked I had a huge white spot (my own grey) at the crown of my head that she completely missed. Very disappointed with the money I spent plus the atmosphere in there was sloppy with 2 other girls LOUDLY telling the entire shop that they longed to be lesbians. I have no problem with that ( I have a child and friends who are) but it was very unprofessional and this time the owner didn't seem to care what was happening even though he was a bit stuffy on my first visit. Ashley was able to see me as a last minute walk-in--lucky me, she did a wonderful job on my short 'do, giving me great, usable styling tips and ideas too. Days later, I still feel pretty :-) This is my 3rd time here, and the impeccable service is no fluke. Each and every visit involved a warm and personable reception (John), unexpected treats and beverages in the waiting area (understandably not during this COVID-19 craziness), exceptionally nice service from talented stylists, and very professional follow-ups with none of the pushiness for sales or re-booking--which is why I keep coming back and even buying products. In my previous career, I worked for years with Aveda and assumed we had it together, but this lovely business really is in a league of their own. I've never had such a consistently great salon experience as I have with this crew. Also, I understood Ashley is one of their newest team members--she'll likely have her appointment book packed super fast, so get in while you can. Don't let the fact she looks like Kerry Washington intimidate you--she's as talented & experienced as she is sweet, and she can make you look & feel gorgeous! read more

My haircut wasn't the worst but it wasn't the best either. It was an average trim. $50 was a little bit much for an average cut though. I don't think that I'd go here again because of the price. Terrible customer service. While my stylist was kind and did a good job. I was there for three hours for a cut and color for medium length hair. It was so expensive that I decided not to purchase the products from the salon at that time. The owner who was ringing me up at the end, proceeded to raise his voice and get angry with me about not purchasing their products. He said it would void the guarantee on my hair and went on and on before allowing me to pay. This was in front of others including staff and patrons. Needless to say, I have not returned and tell everyone about my experience. I truly hope this is a learning opportunity and improvements have been made. read more

I'm extremely picky about my hair. I've had many bad haircuts over the years. We moved here and I scheduled a haircut at Bavilon. I was really impressed! Susan talked with me for quite awhile about what type of hairstyle would work for my hair and how to maintain it. She was so detailed and the cut was amazing! Now, our entire family goes to Bavilon. Susan and Crystal are excellent! You can tell, they really love what they do and care about their customers. They are also not afraid to tell you if a certain cut wouldn't work for your hair. Both ladies go out of their way to style your hair, even if you just had a simple bang trim! Jon has always been great to work with when we've had to cancel or reschedule. I used their online outlet to book an appointment. Whoops, it allowed me to book on the first of the month. John calls me and says "I don't know how you were able to sneak in" very rudely. "We've been closed for five years on that day." Because I'm thinking about that when I'm trying to get my hair done, find a new stylist in a new area, unpack boxes, and deal with new jobs etc? It's not my job to be an informed customer. It's your job to make my life easier and stress free. As of now, I will never visit your salon. I will drive to another salon before I deal with your attitude buddy. I will go to a Regis before I come to you. I made an appointment here to get a haircut, decided when I came in that I'd also really love to have color done and they were incredibly gracious about figuring out what I wanted and how they could do it for me. The hairdresser I was supposed to see passed me off to Andrea so I could get everything I wanted done, and she was kind enough to pause what she was doing to have me take up a TON of her time with my super complicated balayage and cut request. I'm from the DC area and here on vacation - I really wanted to get my hair done while I had time but was really leery of getting my hair done at some small town salon thanks to some previous nightmare-worthy experiences at other salons. This place is actually BETTER than the place I go back home. I got exactly what I asked for - and I paid a fortune for it, but they absolutely told me up front how much it would be and it was completely worth it. It's so hard to find someone who can nail what you're looking for so perfectly, especially when it's as complex and trendy as what I had in mind. Andrea KILLED it, and she was super friendly and fun to talk to the entire time so I was never staring blankly at my feet and slowly dying inside of boredom. Two people I presume to be the owners met me on my way out to make sure I was satisfied and they were entirely polite and gracious. I never saw anybody disrespect anyone else, and I didn't hear anyone breathe a word of gossip or anything that could be construed as such. If you're like me and in your early twenties and you live in fear of getting a haircut from 2003 everytime you ask for something layered and trendy, this is absolutely the place to go. I've Ben meaning to write this review for awhile now.. I wanted a change and decided I was check this place out.. They aren't far from my house and I'm all about supporting local businesses...I planned on getting highlights and a trim.. I went in and the hairdresser I had an appointment with seemed super sweet..I was excited. I explained to her I wanted to darken my hair and get maybe some red and blonde highlights. She gave me the quote and it came out to $295.. It was a lot to money but I was excited so I agreed to the quote. Throughout thr process the woman doing my hair bashed our local school district, saying that she couldn't believe people moved out to vail for the school district and how horrible they are to her kids.. Somewhere in the conversation I told her I had a sophomore at cienega..she preceded to tell me that school will screw my kid up.. I was fuming at this point.. For someone to be so clueless on how their words effect others. Once she styled my hair and blew it out I realized it was not at all what I wanted.. It was red with math darker red highlights? I didn't know how to respond and after being there for over 3 hours I just wanted to leave. On top of it all I explained early on how I don't have a lot of time in the morning to do my hair, so I was looking for a hairstyle that could be done quickly.. At the end she said it should only take about a half hour to get the curls I want as well as the style I was looking for everyday. Living in vail for 7 years I love supporting our local businesses, I know how much the places around us support the community..I have to say never again will I return to this salon, I will never spend another dime or encourage anyone else to either. I went to Bavilon salon in March to get my hair dyed only, and I was pleasantly surprised. The stylist (I believe her name is Tammy) was able to closely match my existing color so she only charged me for a root touch up, yay. She also answered all my questions and recommended awesome inexpensive products that I still use to this day. Went to this salon on a whim and I'm so glad I did! Being new to the area, I had been searching for a place to get my hair done and wanted to support local businesses. They fit me in on a Saturday as a walk-in for a cut and color. Tammy was absolutely wonderful to work with and I felt very welcome there.
