After over 25 years with Bay Alarm, I'm extremely disappointed by how they now treat long-term customers. When I recently tried to upgrade my system, I was given multiple inconsistent quotes from different reps -- none of which they were willing to honor, even after a technician had already visited my home. When I called back to accept one quote, I was told it wouldn't be honored unless **another technician** came out -- despite already having current information on file. I had to follow up multiple times, and never received the courtesy of a return call. It's clear Bay Alarm is no longer the customer-first company I trusted for decades. If you're considering upgrading your system, I strongly recommend looking into other options. I've since switched to a well-established security company with over 150 years in business, a solid track record, and great reviews -- who offered **better pricing, more features, and far superior customer service**. We have Bay Alarm at our retail store in Redondo Beach. The company's app -- Virtual Keypad -- is absolutely the worst app I have ever used. Nothing comes close. Highly, highly unreliable for activating or disarming the alarm when away from the store. I strongly encourage you to consider another alarm company. My company moved into a new building that had a security system with Bay Alarm in the past. We got multiple bids to start a new service, but Bay was the best. They also had a great Sales Rep (Luis Sierra) who was patient as we attempted to figure out all of our needs. After the agreement was signed, a technician named Deo Santillian came out to do the installation. Deo was AMAZING!! He discovered that the previous system had NO connected wiring in the building. He also helped me troubleshoot a number of issues specific to our business model. I was having issues with a Stalker and getting multiple death threats, and advised by law enforcement authorities I should obtain home security. After screening many companies, I chose Bay Alarm in 2017. In all my time with Bay Alarm, their system rarely worked. It constantly has "communication problems" and often can't sense my doors or windows and chirps warning alerts, usually between 3-5 a.m. If the power goes out, it has a shrill beep that does not stop and which keeps me from sleeping. Bay Alarm has sent a service tech a number of times, whom charges $100 to $200 on average and never fixes the problems. When I call customer service, they put me on hold forever, promise to call me back, but never call me back. I have now been trying to cancel the service for 2 weeks and they put me on hold, promise a call me back but will not return my calls. read more

Recently had a Bay Alarm contact us advise us that our system battery was not working. We were told that service was required. Gilberto M came to our home. He had a window of 11-3. He was here at 11. He came into our home, evaluated the problem and it was completed. While Gilberto was here, he was able to update our phone app. If this is the face of Bay Alarm, he did a wonderful job. Ok here's the thing before I signed up the sales rep was so convincing that this would be great for my business I signed up for a total of $1800 and some odd dollars I left a deposit of $950. Once I paid the deposit my scheduled appointment was about 3 weeks later which was frustrating in itself but I had no choice. I was under the impression that this would be installed asap. (It wasn't) I finally received a call saying they would install on the 22nd of March. I blocked my whole day out being the rep said it would be a 10 hour process. I called on the 22nd to confirm. The sales department stated they had my number wrong and had been trying to call to say that due to the rain they could come on the 23rd which is not good for me. I have a busy schedule on that day so this will not work for me. What major company cancels due to the rain as if they would be working outside. I am a business owner who works rain, sleet or snow no excuses. I'm so disappointed that my time was waisted and that their was lack of communication on their part m. Would I recommend Bay alarms? HELL NO!!! The professionalism sucks, customer service sucks, and now I have to find another company to service my business because bay alarm is crap. read more

Gilbert went over and beyond in getting us setup with the alarm system. He checked and scoped where the best possible area to install the access points and did it efficiently. Not only that, he made sure he walked through all the setups in the panel in how to shut off and turn on the the alarm system. He even provided the necessary stickers and warning posts to square away any lookers. He made sure that the install was done without any problem. He even stopped any random bystander who wanted to come into the house and made sure only authorized people are allowed to the premises. By letting us know who and what was going on, made me feel a sense of comfort that I know this system and the service provided by Bay Alarm is the right choice. Gilbert came by a couple weeks to make sure that even though I had a place under construction he made sure that the place is still functioning and validate the service was good or what we could have done better. He made sure he helped us with any other troubleshoot issues we may encounter and what we can do to make sure our alarm is in top shape. THANK YOU BAY ALARM, SOUTH BAY!!! Opening a new business can be very stressful. You have to deal with all types of things ranging from just find a location for your business to obtaining permits. That last thing I want is having to deal with how am I going to keep my business safe. Thank God i called Bay Alarm. After dealing with another company over the phone, I felt they just didn't care enough to obtain me as a customer. Julie was great in scheduling the appointment for my installation. After having to reschedule once, she was super understanding and simply asked what my availability was and we managed to get the job scheduled. Now if I thought Julie's customer service was great, Gilberto just blew me off the roof. I can see that Bay Alarm has a stash full of customer service oriented workers. Gilberto was super detailed in what he was installing, why it was needed and how it all works. Most of all, I loved the fact that he was bilingual. Although my dad speaks English, sometimes it helps even more to hear it in your native language. Nonetheless, Gilberto explained everything very well. He even took his time and showed my dad how install and use the Bay Alarm App, which is very nice and covenant because you can either Arm or Disarm the system and you don't have to use the key pad. I is absolutely beyond me how this Company has 5 stars. From the very beginning, it has been an utter nightmare! Requested alarm to be setup, appointment was scheduled. This part is good. As we live in a community the previous tenant had alarm service. Technician came out and reviewed everything and advised he didn't have the right parts, he was told he just needed to change one piece. But in reality we needed new equipment. I spoke with the Representative who set up the appointment who was apologetic, while saying that he didn't actually go out to review the equipment first, he just went off of what the previous tenant had setup. WTF. Next guy comes out with some equipment for setup. Andddd again, wrong equipment. We spoke to the Rep again and said part had to be ordered, they would be back in a week. Midweek, received a call to reschedule AGAIN, they don't have the part. One month in and finally the alarm is successfully setup. Fast forward to one month later, I received the bill. There was a leaflet stating I could pay my bill online, but no actually details on website to go to and such. So I went to the only website I knew of, but there was no account access there. I called the Customer Service who was basically clueless and couldn't tell me how to get access to my account. I hung up and called back thinking I reached someone new or something. Second person, also has no idea how I can access my account. WHAT THE ACTUAL F. Called once more and was told that I could setup my own account. The account actually has to be setup by a "Field Representative". That department was closed and said they would have someone call me. Did I EVER receive a call??? NOPE, NEGATIVE Fast forward one whole month! I get a call asking me when I'm going to pay, yeah Denise I'll pay when I get access to my account! I have to get transferred to gain access. Ok fine, now FINALLY after three months I finally have access to my account. Ok now, I want to setup automatic payments. Welp, NOPE, ya can't do that. You have to call and someone else has to do it for you. WHAT THE HELL KIND OF SHIT SHOW CONVOLUTED COMPANY IS THIS?! Literally I could not be bothered, I just setup bill pay through my bank. I wish I could give negative starts for this BS. read more

We've had Bay Alarm for just about a year now and I am glad we made the switch from our prior security company of 5 years. They have the latest equipment and with phone application integration and alerting, etc.. Response time is also quick and better than our old company. They are very professional and knowledgeable of their field. They are good at explaining things for the average person to understand things. I dealt with Veasna who was very direct in solving our security issues and explaining the mechanics of things and providing a cost effective solution.
