Probably not! but I will say that Bay Area Event rentals is doing something right. The two were polite, courteous, and informative. They gave me a courtesy call prior to the event to tell me when they would arrive and another when they wound arrive to take down the equipment. Bay Area Event Rentals has one of the easiest websites to navigate as well as quick customer service responses. I inquired for a quote and was emailing with changes on quantity. They were receptive and answered all my questions. Payment was easy as well, deposit and security deposit were required. Deposit to reserve the rentals and security deposit will be returned once pickup is completed. As long as there are no damages to the equipment. I received confirmation that rentals will be dropped off in the afternoon. However while I was out, I received a call in the morning that the rentals are to be dropped off in ten minutes. Luckily I had someone meet the delivery driver. The chairs were in decent shape, there are wear and tear marks, which are to be expected. The games were in better shape with all the pieces included. When it came to pickup, I had to text as it was getting late in the afternoon, to find out when the rentals are to be picked up. I had the chairs stacked, games in their bags, so pickup didn't take long. I received my security deposit a few hours after pickup. read more

The worse customer service ever . I called to inquire about renting backdrops, table, chairs etc.... For my nieces party in February. I was told someone would call me back to provide me pricing and availability . Didn't hear back . Gave it a week. Called again to inform them I hadn't heard back which was no big deal but my feedback was received with attitude and defense mode. I decided to end the conversation and look elsewhere . I had been working with Adam regarding planning for our party. I discussed with him that we needed a canopy to protect the 5 man band we had for our event. I also ordered 14 tables with umbrellas and 90 chairs to be delivered. On the day before our event the crew came to deliver and set up for our event but as they unloaded we saw that they had not brought a pop up canopy as discussed but instead a huge tent that would house an orchestra. Before they started setting up the tent we stopped them as we ordered a canopy NOT a tent. The delivery guys said that I needed to speak with the owner on the phone because he was refusing to exchange the tent for a canopy as we had originally discussed. The owner proceeded to reference me to the invoice which incorrectly referenced a 20x20 tent when we were planning for a 10x 20 pop up canopy. Unfortunately the owner became extremely defensive and refused to work this situation out - he stated that he would only exchange the tent for a pop up canopy if we paid his workers the balance of $1558.50. We had already paid a deposit of $490.00 and I was not going to pay the remaining balance until the tent was exchanged for a canopy. The owner became extremely belligerent and when I asked him why he was being so difficult about this transaction he said that "I irritated him". After 30 minutes of going around in circles about this issue- he demanded a copy of my driver's license. When I said no, I would give him my license when I paid him the balance as stated in the contract- he lost his cool and said that as an owner he was taking ALL of his chairs/tables/umbrellas back as he did not want to work with me. It gets crazier- he then said he would deliver the canopy but he will be accompanied by the Police!!!! We said please do. In the end, the canopy was delivered by the workers- not the owner and the police didn't accompany them. Needless to say- I will never use them again and I will warn others not to do so. The party went well, the owner was paid in full and I gave him a copy of my driver's license- but the stress and headache of working with this crazy owner will forever leave a bad impression. We had a mixed experience. Our wedding setup was scheduled the day before with a short 3-5pm window, and the vendor confirmed via email they would arrive at 3pm. They ended up arriving about an hour and a half late, with no proactive communication -- my fiancé had to call for an update, which was stressful. Pickup was on time, but only one person arrived, so we had to help despite paying extra for setup and tear-down. Hmmm. They initially delivered to the wrong place--after I specifically made sure they had the right address after they missed putting it on the order a few weeks before. Not only that, we had just the week before agreed on the delivery time which was 3 hours later than when showed up at the wrong place. So while we were able to redirect, I had to rush to the venue and then rush back to get ready. We rented heaters. First. They were a little worn looking. One didn't work at all. The easel was missing a part which thank goodness the driver found before he left. The week after I emailed...and got no reply. I've waited to post a review in case they were good enough to reply, but nothing. So ya, I don't recommend them. read more

We received the tables, albeit a day late from the agreed upon time, which was in the contract. After trying multiple times to contact the business, which the VM said the mailbox was full, to send a text.. we did get a text back from this "Rose" person, not sure if she's real or not, since we didn't get any response back (even to this day) about when/why our tables weren't delivered at the agreed upon time. non-existent customer service. Will certainly not recommend them, nor will I use them again. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the delivery driver finally called us back 7 hours after the delivery time stating he would be delivering them the next day, good thing I decided to have the table delivered the day before, otherwise it would have been a waste.. anyway, he was courteous and apoligized... maybe this Rose person should let the delievery person be the spokesperson, at least he reached out to us. The linens were nice. My issue was with the lack of communication. I ordered the materials about a month before but after that there was no communication. I had to call them the day before to confirm they were even coming and what time. The linens we're supposed to be picked up the next day and they said they would call to let me know a window for pick up. By 2:00 I hadn't heard from them and when I called their voicemail box was full. I waited a little longer and tried again, no answer. About an hour later they finally called and gave me a window to pick up. They were able to come before the time which was nice. Linens were fine, just keep on top of communication and know that on the weekends they may not have anyone in the office to answer and you just have to wait to hear. read more

Great communication and quick responses via email until I put down my deposit. 9 days prior to my event, I emailed to request a change to equipment due to the weather. No response so I emailed and called. I finally spoke with the owner the day prior to the event to ask if the changes were possible. She was very accommodating and said she can make the changes then sent me a new invoice right away. I noticed that there was an error and she added instead of replacing some equipment. I emailed and tried calling back to correct the error. No response. When the delivery person called, I told him the correct order so I finally got a call from the owner who completely changed her attitude and was adamant that I pay the full invoice. I explained there was an error which I tried addressing right away, so she told me I can either stick with my original order or pay for the new one. Since I didn't have the space or need for all the extra equipment, I said I'll keep my original order. That upset her, because she said "you're really going to argue over "x" dollars" and "why would you want a heater that you don't need." Well either way, I'd be getting extra equipment I didn't need since she didn't make the correct adjustments, so why would I pay more for it? She said it was the policy that she couldn't make changes within the week, so I told her I completely understand if that's their policy and would've been fine if she told me no instead of making (incorrect) changes that morning. She ended up putting me on hold to speak with her partner. She came back pleasant and said they would honor the changes. I'm appreciative that they did, but I wouldn't use them again after dealing with the rude owner. Many guests at my event asked about the rentals and unfortunately, the only thing I can think of was this experience. read more
