I have contacted Bay Area Fireplace three times in the last four years to have maintenance done on our gas fireplace. Every time I was told that someone would call to schedule but no one ever does. Most recently I personally went to the store and made the request. A gentleman entered all our info into their system and said someone would call me in 2-3 days to schedule. That was two weeks ago. I had to leave a review because I almost didn't go with Bay Area Fireplace after reading some of the other negative reviews. We bought an Enviro 60 fireplace from Bay Area Fireplace. It was a really great experience. The store comes across as a little dull. Brett who sold us the fireplace is a little old school in his sales approach. I read the negative Yelp reviews. And one of the competitors tried to talk me out of going with Bay Area Fireplace based on those reviews. All of this left me a little skeptical of going with Bay Area. I couldn't have been more wrong. Because I was skeptical given the above I called Hash before we purchased, and he personally assured me of great service. They definitely delivered. Brett, while old school provided us with a very thorough overview of the unit and covered a lot of installation detail to make sure it was the right unit and would work in our space. He never pressured us for the sale. Carlos who managed the install was very responsive throughout the installation and provided very knowledgeable information to make sure we could coordinate with our contractor. He continued to be responsive even though I had paid in full after initial installation for questions I had about the tile and finish work my contractor had to do around the fireplace. Usually vendors stop being responsive as soon as you've paid. Not these guys. Gives me confidence in the after sales service. Horacio and the crew who came to do the install were also very respectful, patient, knowledgeable and thorough (detail oriented) both during the installation and months later when the came by to fire up the unit for the first time (we had a couple of months after the fireplace was installed and we paid in full before we could fire it up since we had to wait for our remodel wiring, gas and tile to be finished). This is a great place to buy a fireplace from with very competitive pricing (they were the cheapest vendor we got quotes from). Don't let the store or the Yelp reviews turn you off. This company sold me a new Enviro insert unit that was not complete - it was missing parts. The installer they hired informed me 3 years ago the unit wasn't complete and that he had to return to finish the install. He told me not to pay for the installation until the parts were installed. He took the remote telling me that I shouldn't start the fireplace. Bay Area Fireplace lost track of the parts missing, insisted I was lying, and never returned to the job site when we withheld payment for an incomplete installation and missing parts. Carlos kept insisting that nothing was wrong with the fireplace and that no parts were missing and we were trying to avoid paying them. It was so unprofessional we just walked away. Carlos insisted no parts were missing and refused to inspect the fireplace or do a site visit to investigate. Fast forward two years of having a hole in the wall. We hired someone else to finish the install. The unit consistently ran hot - you could barely touch the stone outside of it. Definitely not safe. Turns out the fire refractory panels were missing! They gaslit me for 42 months telling me I was making up the fact that parts were missing. The unit is completely damaged on the inside after 4 uses. So, we call and ask for a warranty claim. They refuse to open one. I sent loads of pictures, they inspect the unit and tell me that I need to paint the inside blaming a chimney cap we had to replace because they didn't properly seal the one they installed and it flew off our chimney into the neighbor's yard. We contacted the manufacturer and the distributor for two years complaining about the unit we couldn't use because of these clowns. Finally, the distributor sends someone over to inspect. They write up a report and inform me that the refractory panels are missing and the wiring is damaged due to it. I kinda knew something was wrong with the interior. Carlos kept insisting that I was a "know it all" and I should trust him. Trust him?! He came and inspected my fireplace and didn't even notice the panels were missing. HELLO! How incompetent and dishonest! Carlos immediately tried to blame me and accused me of taking the panels out myself!!!! Who does that to a customer? I paid for the unit in full and they did not deliver to the contract AT ALL. Their installer told me years previously that parts were missing. Their poor paper trail, management, and incompetence could have caused an electrical fire and our house to burn down. Now they won't honor the purchase and replace the unit with a brand new one. The manager was supposed to call me for 3 years and I have not heard from this ghost of a nonexistent person. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. We are suing them for the fireplace unit, damages, and loss of use. If you have any issues with Carlos as we did, don't waste your time. Take them straight to court. They will dance you out of warranty with their gaslighting and outright lies. Your sanity is worth much more than the cost of doing business with people who can't keep track of orders, don't honor contracts, lie to discredit you, drive you insane with their posturing and the whole time KNOW THEY ARE BEING DISHONEST. I can't believe they are still in business. UPDATE: Hash's response is all lies. BAF did install this fireplace and did not complete the installation due to the missing parts. Hash never contacted me once to resolve and Carlos didn't notice the panels were missing upon inspection 3 years later, which is two months ago. He claimed he would replace them after we sent him the report from the distributor's installer and then didn't repair the unit. Please look at the photos we have uploaded to understand these guys have no idea what they are doing and are incredibly dishonest. I have no idea why they think we would make this up or waste our time when the UNIT was paid for in full and included the PANELS that they did not include in the build of the unit. We did a partial payment for install because it was not completed due to the status of waiting for the missing parts, which BAF never came to complete. We hired another party to complete the install as we were informed that there were no missing parts by Bay Area Fireplace. We later learned when our stone cracked and the house almost caught on fire that the unit was indeed NOT complete and that Bay Area Fireplace had sold us an incomplete unit. Just look at their response. They are lying through their teeth and trying to make it look like it was us who somehow built a unit incorrectly! It is built onsite and delivered. Their installer was correct that the unit was not complete, therefore he couldn't finish the install, which had numerous issues that did not abide by the manufacturer's installation guides. TL;DR: Good product, abysmal customer service. Find your fireplace elsewhere. I bought an Enviro gas insert for my home from BAF. They actually did a good job installing the insert (props to their installation team), the only problem is that it took them 9 months to do it. Let me be clear: These guys have the worst response rate I've ever dealt with. It's like Carlos and Bret don't want your business. Getting a hold of either of them was like pulling teeth, even after I had given them my deposit for the project. Every time I went into their physical location, Bret would just be staring at his email inbox or dicking around on the internet. How is it that he never had the time to respond to my emails on a timely basis? The world may never know. While Bret was simply unresponsive, it was like Carlos was actively trying to get me to cancel my order. Not only was Carlos completely unresponsive, but whenever he did decide to respond, it would be non-apologetic and passive-aggressive: "Hi Casey, I have been trying to reach you to schedule your installation but haven't received a call back" he writes literally one minute after he called while I was preoccupied. Do you want to guess if he picked up his phone when I called immediately after or throughout that afternoon? Right... TERRIBLE customer service. Last Saturday I ordered a $276 consultation and was told I would get a phone call on Monday to schedule the consultation. I didn't receive the call on Monday so I called the store back and was told it would be Tuesday or Wednesday. Nobody called me on Tuesday or Wednesday, so I sent an email on Wednesday night asking for the consultation scheduling the next day or my money back. I got a call the next day from the store and they told me someone would call later that day to schedule. Nobody called. Now I'm asking for my money back and nobody is responding. STAY AWAY. edit: "we cant work with prospected clients that demand that we have to meet them at a certain times without regards to our schedule due to this pandemic ." I would not pull a pandemic card to excuse this behavior. Your company explicitly told me they would call to schedule on Monday, then Tuesday / Wednesday, then Thursday and failed to deliver on that promise each time. Also an email was NOT sent to me to confirm a refund or cancellation. I sent two emails about this and didn't hear anything, so to hear I'm getting a refund on Yelp is news to me. He had good experience, was extremely helpful, quickly identified the problem and got it fixed. Had everything he needed in a well stocked equipment van. Did this all on one visit. The bf and I had high hopes for this place but were severely disappointed. Upon entering, we weren't greeted. We walked around the crowded space, which was disorganized and not too busy. Each of the sales people were with customers, so I could see that they were in the middle of working. It doesn't take a lot to excuse yourself and greet customers entering the store. For a place that specializes in something, you would think that they would have fireplaces that were super impressive. We sat down for about less than five minutes but decided to leave for these reasons. The older gentleman that entered before we left was greeted and told that he would be helped as soon as they were available. If only that was the greeting that we received. I'm not going into what I believe were the reasons that we were ignored, but that should never even happen. Congratulations, you could've taken some of my money but since you're so rude, I'll give it to a business that is willing to work for it. read more

I've got a 20 year old Majestic gas fireplace that I loved until it stopped working. I'm pretty handy and set to fixing it myself. What I learned is that tons of these old Majestic fireplaces have died, the gas valve goes bad and that particular valve model is discontinued. It seemed like it would take some expertise to retrofit a different valve and remote and still preserve all of the functionality of the original unit. It was time to surrender this job to someone with more experience. I found Hash and he was easily able to convince me that he understood the problem and had a lot of experience retrofitting similar fireplaces. He was booked out for a couple of weeks but then showed up right on time as promised. He got the job done quickly and the fireplace works great again and hopefully for another 20 years. It was not cheap, but it was far cheaper and less disruptive than any of my other options and, because I can look up the prices of the parts that Hash installed and because I saw how long it took and what a PITA it was, I think the price was very fair. I can't remember the last time I worked with a company who went as far as Bay Area Fireplace did in making sure my husband I were happy with the product we purchased from them. And there are not many businesses who are willing to make an exchange for a customer when the customer was totally at fault. I won't go into all of the details here but the bottom line is that it was my fault for choosing the wrong type of insert for the ambiance/heat output that we wanted. Dr. Hash and his team lived up to their end of the deal by delivering and expertly installing exactly what we ordered. A few weeks into it, I realized I bought the wrong type of unit. I contacted Dr. Hash and fully expected him to tell me there was nothing he could do for me. To my surprise he sent his team out to remove the unit and install a different type of unit more suited to what we wanted. I am totally in LOVE with my fireplace now! It is the focal point of our home and I'm so happy Dr. Hash and his team at Bay Area Fireplace took such good care of us. read more

I placed an order for a barbecue grill in May. After 3 weeks during which various delays and excuses were given (the item is heavy and difficult to ship) and I still had not received the item some 3 weeks later. I was being passed from person to person for two weeks as I was checking on the status, and nobody could tell me when they expected the grill to arrive. It had not in fact even been shipped from the factory at that point (finally someone was able to verify this fact). I called and requested that the order be cancelled and that my charge be reversed, and purchased a barbecue elsewhere. Now: a month and a half after I had made that phone call and was assured that my charge would be reversed, my account has still not been reimbursed. The excuse given was that the process may already be underway. My next call is to my credit card provider to dispute this charge. Since I was given personal assurance by one of your people that the order was cancelled, I'm sure you won't contest the formal dispute and my chargeback will stick. To the owners of Bay Area Fireplace: I'm sorry it had to go down this way. To potential customers: I would never recommend calling this business or setting foot in their showroom. The measure of a business is not only when things go right, but how they handle when things go wrong. *reply to the defensive reply from the store* This is not about 50 dollars. The item I ordered was 500 dollars, not 50. It didn't cost you anything because you didn't actually order the item. I asked, no order was actually made or I would have just waited for the shipment. The reason I went to the trouble to give you a bad review is that you took no responsibility. If you can't make money by selling me a thing then tell me no. By lack of responsibility I mean: my 500 dollars that you took for an item you said you would order, then neglected to follow up on for a month and then finally when I called and verified that the item had not even been ordered, asked to cancel, left me calling for two months until I finally had my credit card company handle it. Here's a tip: when someone leaves you a bad review because you messed up, don't be a jerk and try to get defensive and dismissive in a public forum. Bottom line you guys messed up, and as I said above: I gave you MULTIPLE chances over a several months to make it right, I finally had to call my credit card company and have them handle it. Just say "Whoops, we messed up. Sorry to hear about your experience, we don't feel this is acceptable either and we will try to be more aware of situations like this." We absolutely love the work Bay Area Fireplace did in our home. We ordered glass doors and some metal work for the frame and it fit perfectly and looks beautiful. I will say the pieces took a long time to arrive due to the manufacturer but Carlos kept me informed of what was happening so I knew what to expect. For the installation, Irvin was AWESOME!! He was knowledgable when I questions about my fireplace (totally unrelated to the order btw) and improved the fireplace! He rearranged the logs so the gas fire was more efficient and cleaned them. If you can get Irvin for your order do it!! He was really great and made the experience of having to wait so long for the parts worth it. Ageee with the most recent reviews. This place is great in selling you a product, but once it's all paid off and installed, all communication stops. Unfortunately, the fireplace manufacturer only handles issues through their authorized dealers, so we have to go through them to get any replacement parts or deal with anything that goes wrong. We're currently dealing with a warranty replacement and service issue, but have not heard any updates in two weeks. Our fireplace is missing a part that is required and was overlooked by the installers. We discovered it ourselves when having to deal with one of the various issues we've encountered. Some due to the manufacturer (sent incorrect parts) some unknown fault (glass on the fireplace cracked). Our current ticket was opened over a month ago. There is no update or response when we check in. Not even a courtesy response saying that they'll follow up with the manufacturer and get back to us. Hopefully we'll be able to use our fireplace by next winter. read more

BUYER BEWARE! Avoid this establishment. I should have known when every Google review gave this place 1 star and most their Yelp ones agree. The showroom pics online aren't real. It looks like they set up the showroom 15 years ago and it is pathetic. Unorganized and dirty. This should be your first sign to exit the building. We were greeted by a nice salesperson who offers u a drink or snack from the cafe they own next door and then it goes downhill fast. After explaining our situation we decided on a fireplace as we were told we really only had one or maybe two options. We did like what we saw in the catalog but of course it wasn't in their showroom as the showroom fireplaces look ancient. We got a price and were told the next step is someone would come out next week and do an inspection to insure we would be OK for install of this unit and the gas and chimney functions would work too. We left thinking great.. They come out and we get the OK and then we place an order. The following week when we talked to the installation contact he said they don't come out and do site visits and sent us a contractor guide telling us how we need to prep everything for demo. When we brought up the gas connection and chimney issues he ignored them confirming they will only come out for demo and install. When we told him we weren't comfortable with that approach he told us we could take some pictures and send to him but it got to the point of being ridiculous as we aren't handy and didn't expect to do this type of work. The detail he wanted really required a visit. We are literally about 4 miles from their store. In the end we just gave up on them and called a very helpful and service oriented provider in Santa Cruz who is insuring we get the service we need to update our fireplace I assume this place might survive by dealing with contractors and wholesaling fireplaces to them so they just move product and don't really deal with installation or service. If you are simply a homeowner looking at fireplaces their showroom is a total joke and if u still try to decide to have them help u put a fireplace in your home they will underwhelm you with their poor service. There have to be plenty of better options in the area. Save yourself the pain. read more

Came in with my dad in the hopes of looking at some gas fireplace inserts. 1. DO NOT TRUST their website as an accurate representation of the showroom. There are pictures of hundreds of different brands and styles and only carry maybe 11-13 models in the store. 2. The actual store is in an area with little parking and as soon as you walk in, there are boxes everywhere. There are half opened boxes in the store as well. It is not only hard to look at and hard to maneuver around but also a total safety hazard. 3. Shares a space with a coffee shop?? Huh?? 4. Worst of all, employees just ignore you and don't acknowledge your presence. This is December, the busiest time of year for them, and they don't have anyone showing customers around, giving flyers, sharing information, nothing. RUN!!!! I don't know if their showroom is nice or not. I DO know that they charge for estimates. I don't mind that. A professional has to come out and spec the scene. Fine. Charge me. But they charged $300.00 to our credit card right away. Still no problem. When WE had to contact THEM multiple times trying to get the thing scheduled and NO return calls we began to have serious concerns. I looked on YELP and discovered we are not the only people who have experienced this horrendous service. My husband called and said he wanted to cancel the whole thing and we wanted a credit. Nothing happened. Another phone call. Nothing happened. Another phone call. They said they did it. I logged on. Twice. NO credit. Finally Jerry told my husband that they have been having "issues" with their credit card machine and could provide no proof of credit. My husband then wanted me to call and explain THEIR credit card machine issues to our credit card company. YOU ARE KIDDING ME RIGHT? What? You want to pay me to be their admin person? Utterly disgusting. I find this criminal. Take money from people. Provide no service. Make THEM chase you to get you to do what you said you would do. Still don't do it. And when they request a credit - keep screwing them over. Then try to get them to do all the work. So....we are well on our way with Woodstove & Sun in Santa Cruz. Extremely happy. We have visited them, chosen our unit, the installer has been out, the plumber is ready to go and the electrician is ready to go. So buh-bye Bay Area Fireplace. We will spend our $5,000.00 with someone other than you. read more

Very few times have I spent the time and energy to leave a review for a business, but this one warrants warning to other consumers considering their lack of customer service. My family met with the salesperson several weeks ago to begin planning a replacement fireplace insert since we enjoyed the wood burning stove at our last house so much. The salesman took lots of information from us including picture that we have taken on our phones and suggested 5-10 models that might work depending on final measurements. He said he would get back to us on Monday with additional pricing information and details. We never received a call. About a week later I called back and had to spend 10 mins explaining everything about us since the salesman didn't seem to remember any of the information. We agreed on having a technician come out to the house to ensure that the unit that we ultimately decided on would fit and be the correct unit for code reasons. He said it would be about $130. for the technician to come on site which i was fine with. We again never received a call back from anybody to schedule the appointment or come look at the unit that we wanted to replace. After another gap of 2 weeks during the holiday I decided to call back and see if I could get some commitment on their side to come out. Spoke with the same salesman again and had to spend a few minute bringing him up to speed on all of our past conversations. This time he asked if i had paid in advance for the technician to come on site and I said No nor was i ever asked to do this during the last two conversations. I provided my contact information again and he said that business had become very busy for them and they had 200 other customers that needed their services. I informed him that that was not really my problem and he promptly said thanks for doing business with us and hung up on me. This experience has been a huge waste of my families time and now leads me to believe that similar business are going to have this lack of attention to customer service especially after reading other reviews of their competitors. If you don't take my advise and look for other companies to do business with at a minimum i would recommend not working with their salesman Larry. read more

An update on my previous experience. The owner contacted me after reading my review and apologized for how things went. Basically, their process of sale to order to install made certain presumptions about this and that, who spoke with whom, etc and I fell through the cracks. The owner offered to make some minor improvements to our insert but we chose to receive a small monetary compensation. However, since I cannot verify that they have fixed all the processes that went wrong with me, and because my experience was, in fact, bad, I can't give more than an extra star to my original review. If I could, I would do 2.5 stars, and not even 3. Also, while I can certainly understand things falling through cracks, I don't see how being offered an insert of a radically different design is in any way acceptable. That's not a "small" procedural error that can be fixed. That's just a bad sales effort. And that was from the installer and the sales man. Caring enough to call someone after a bad experience is, I think, an expectation and that in and of itself isn't going to radically change my review. But they did make the effort, and I do hope that others will get a better experience buying from them. read more

Recently, we completed a kitchen remodel. As part of the renovation, we also wanted to convert our parlor to a dinning room. In that parlor there was a traditional fireplace with mantle. We wanted to remove the current fireplace and install an in wall one. we met with Hash who was is their designer. He met us at our home and we discussed the possible options. Hash was very patient and educated on fireplaces and what the steps were Hash as very thorough and said he would be done with all the work in 3 days I was skeptical at first wondering to myself how is he going to get all this done in such a short period of time. After the first day, they did all the rough work and installed the fireplace. The 2nd day was the installation of stone etc. Hash picked up all the material discovered where the best price for the stone was. and even was involved in the the negotiations. The fireplace looks amazing and all the pointers that Bay Area Fireplace provided paid off in the end. We were very happy with the concept, theme, price and quality of work. I don't think they could have done a better job. I highly recommend them. You won't be disappointed. read more

We had a gas insert installed and our brick fireplace refaced with tile. The tile was installed poorly. The tile is not level making the mantle look like its out of level. We are going to have to hire a carpenter to work some magic to make things look right. If you plan to reface your fireplace, I'd suggest you hire your own tile installer. Hash came out a couple of times to remeasure, assess the job, then just sent his crew. Installed with one piece that was too small and had to wait for a replacement part. Would have thought with the multiple trips to measure, the right parts would have been ordered to start with. Update: The company informs me Hash never came out to my house but merely handled phone calls. I think that misses the point that they screwed up the tile work. They do assure me that there is a waranty in the fireplace insert. That's fine, but doesn't help the messed up tile work. read more

I connected with Hash G after he responded to my review and had a very good experience. I spoke to him about my previous experience and he made a special trip out to look at my chimney. After an inspection he gave us the green light to move ahead and did not try to sell me any additional services. I also found him knowledgable, polite and a good communicator. Finally, he apologized for my previous experience and told me to contact him directly if I ever have another with his store or services. Hash and his team are a specialized SWAT team for fireplaces and associated "fireplace walls" with associated wall-mounted TV/electronics installation. These projects require some serious skills, from fireplace expertise, rock/brick work, electric, gas, electronics considerations, construction, and more. The fact that they showed up on a Tuesday and were finished on Thursday is miraculous. Along the way, we unboxed my brand new TV and found that the screen was broken! Hash went with me on a journey to return/exchange the tv in his truck, since my own vehicle can't transport a 65" TV. He is an incredibly busy guy, and it was really above and beyond the call of duty for this level of assistance. Hash really cares about delivering quality workmanship and a beautiful aesthetic result. Even at the tail end of the project, he showed up to help with details which were really not even his problems in the first place. For all these reasons, I highly recommend Bay Area Fireplace to anyone looking to transform an ugly fireplace into the centerpiece of your home. read more

This is based on a pre-sales experience. Updating my review from 1 to 4 stars, I'm pleased to note! My experience 2 years ago was absolutely terrible but not only did Hash write me back then (thanks!) to apologize and ask that I give them another chance, but I DID eventually come back. This time I had a very helpful sales person greet me and politely ask if I needed help. No pressure at all. When I said I had some questions, he took all the time needed to make sure I understood the options and even made great recommendations. Excited to begin the process of renovating our fireplace and turning our ambiguous room into a Snuggle Den; we went to Bay Area Fireplace. (The first time we went, we waited outside with other people for them to open; but they never did). We went back a few days later and we were greeted by an older salesman, (with a medical boot on his foot). We told him that we wanted to look at wood burning fireplace inserts. He asked us why and then went into a very long monologue/sales pitch about natural gas. Saying that wood burning fireplaces would be illegal by 2020 and that they didn't even have wood burning inserts. Well, both were lies. (California only has a ban on installing wood burning fireplaces in NEWLY built homes). He was completely dismissive of me, very condescending and spoke only to my BF, even when I asked questions. We left feeling completely bummed. Our guess is that this old dude has been selling most of his life, using the same pitch for the last 50 years. It was sad, rude and frustrating. read more

I gave up on having them call me back. Supposably the owner or GM was to call me personally to get on the issue. NEVER HEARD FROM HIM EITHER!! I gave up and contacted Wright's Lighting and Fireside on Meridian Avenue. Their tech guy came out the next week-- on time I might add-- and got to the bottom of the problem. Which was a loose wire that was incorrectly connected to begin with! $100 well spent although should have been entirely unnecessary had the job been done right in the first place. I feel like taking Bay Area Fireplace to small claims to get them to cover that cost but it is a waste of my time as I am sure they will about as responsive to that as they are to customer's phone calls. read more

I bought an outdoor fireplace from these guys in January 2018. Unfortunately it only worked for a few months before breaking. Despite six different attempts to have them come and service the fireplace (phone, email, etc.), and promises of a call-back or a date/time, many weeks have elapsed with absolutely no response. Now they just ignore my emails and no one calls me back. I've now made formal complaints to the manufacturer. Avoid at all costs if you want any service for products this company sells. read more

Purchase Process: 5 * Installation 3* and expensive! (see below) After-sale service 1* We purchased and had installed a direct-vent gas fireplace from Bay Area Fireplace in October or 2011. We knew it would be expensive, but what shocked me was what their guy charged to run the gas line! (Almost a thousand dollars!) (separate from the installation cost.) Get several estimates for the gas- any plumber can do that part - and be sure you understand exactly where they're going to run the line. In my case, rather than coming up from underneath the house, he ran it from under the house out into the backyard, with an elbow into the side of my brick chimney. UGLY! But my biggest complaint has to do with after-sale service. When we turned it back "on" the next October, there was a bad odor. I called the store to ask if this was normal. It took 2 calls to get the word that it was normal, and might take a week or 2 to go away. Then we had problems with the pilot going out. Actually, I didn't know if I had a pilot or electronic ignition - I just knew that my fireplace wouldn't come on. I called the store, and it was several days before the technician called me back. We froze. But by the time he called, we had gotten it to work - but with no idea how we'd done it. The fireplace keeps dying, and when I called the other day, the store said the tech has a 3 week wait. The other employees seem to have no clue how these things work . One emailed me a manual with a reference to the "electronic ignition" page, but none of that worked, because... I've finally figured out that we have a pilot light - but it keeps going out. In the last call from the tech, he said "Well, you're out of warranty." He told me to call the store and have my file placed on his desk and he'd look at it when he got back to the store. That was 4 days ago, and he hasn't called me, let alone come out to visit. My fireplace works sometimes - but does that mean gas is filling the fireplace when it's not on? Is my house going to blow up? read more
