He was also very responsive by Text and Phone. Apache's pricing was very competitive and their service and on-time daily schedule was wonderful. Team would arrive by 8am and continue till 4. They spent 30 mins end of each day to clean up which was amazing. I got the 50 year premium roof for the quality and materials and they provide a 10 year leak free gaurantee. They ripped out the old Gutters and rotted Fascia boards and replaced/painted them and now the house looks like new from outside. Mel also replaced the outdated Skylight on the 2nd floor and replaced all the old metal jackets .. put in new low profile vents. They installed new Metal black powder coated Gutter Guards which will keep me from cleaning the gutters ever again. No unforseen costs.. My solar contractor referred me to Apache because he had worked with them on many projects together and upon checking their excellent Yelp reviews I contacted them. Mel came over the next day to inspect the roof and discussed what was needed. I received a quote from him same evening and it was pretty competitive. I was waiting on a couple other roofers to provide me their quotes. Mel later beat everyone's quotes by a lot and agreed to do my roof, gutters, and fix the damaged wood. He recommended that we install the radiant barrier OSB & continuous ridge vent to keep my attic cooler and lower my utility bills. We also decided to install a sun-tunnel. Removal of existing roof and installing new roof took 4 days and Mel's crew (especially Albert) were extremely efficient and very polite. They came on time (sharp 8AM everyday), did their job really well, and cleaned up every day before they left. At the end, Mel's brother Jim came in again to clean up the second time so that there were no nails or wood left on the property. I just used Apache to replace the composite roof on a 1930s cabin. They installed CertainTeed composite shingles. Mel, the owner, was super responsive, fair, and fast. Hugo and Juan came out and had the roof off in a jiffy. The skip sheathing was a mess, so I asked then to put down exterior ply based on verbal authorization. I also had them do the gutters. The workmanship was great. The change order for the ply was totally fair. I do property management, so I have dealt with a lot of roofers. I purchased my home about a year ago and needed a roof replacement. I received quotes from multiple companies including well known big names. Apache Roofing was one of the companies Yelp automatically contacted with my project, and the estimate I have received was *a few thousands of dollars* lower than what others have given me. I have a 1000 sqft house, so it is a small job and this price difference was huge. More surprisingly, what he had on the initial estimate (specifically radiant barrier and ridge vent) is what other companies charge extra money for. His crew came by and finished the job on time. The removal company did an excellent job cleaning; my garage had unfinished ceiling and they even cleaned the floor after the removal. I normally don't write reviews but my experience with Apache Roofing was seamless and an overall enjoyable experience. Who would think replacing a roof would be enjoyable but working with Mel and his crew at Apache made it super easy. They were recommended from a solar company whom worked with them before. From the time he came to my house for a site visit he was very honest giving me recommendations and not pressuring me at all, nicest guy. I got his quote as promised and to my surprise he was significantly lower than the other 8 quotes I got, they are a smaller roofing company with lower overhead. But that wasn't the only reason they were chosen, the first impression I got from Mel was that he was a straight shooter and is proud of the work they do. By the time we signed the contract he was able to schedule a window and come that following week to start. He quoted me the job would take 3 1/2 days for roof and gutters. His crew showed up on time and they stayed into the evenings, they were a bunch of dedicated hard workers. The crew always showed up on time and didn't start too early to disturb the neighbors, they were also very polite and even though it was super hot they were always smiling. There was a in process inspection with the city and it was recommended they add some vents, which he communicated to me which we added. The job was completed ahead of schedule in just 3 days with the inspection with the city the following week. And they cleaned up a lot of the debris after the job was done. The roof looks amazing and should pass the final inspection with the city. Also on the a side note, Mel did notice my window frames had dry rot and included in the proposal to repair those too. He mentioned they are also general contractors so they can also do minor general repairs. Roofing companies charge extra to terminate or dry rot on the boards which is always additional, his prices for those was also significantly cheaper. To summarize Apache was very easy to work with, very affordable, did an amazing job, no frills and won't try to upsell you anything. To me the owner Mel is very focused on making the customer happy and doing a good job. Apache Roofing were amazing! We were supposed to have our roof done by our old contractor and we had to replace him so when it came time to do the roofing it was already a last-minute job. They were recommended by our new contractor and came out immediately (on a Saturday no less) to quote us. Quote was reasonable and very comprehensive - included large house (2000+ sqft), patio area, new decking, eaves, and tear off/disposal of wood shingles and replaced with a high-end composite shingle ("presidential" style, I think it was called). They booked the work for a couple of weeks later and showed up right on time, first thing in the morning on the date promised. Their crew was not fooling around - they had the existing roof off in a couple of hours and bundled in very neat rolls ready to haul away, which was really appreciated. Most crews would just toss the old stuff on the ground and then pick it up later, but with kids/dogs that leaves staples, nails, and sharp wood splinters. With this removal, you couldn't even tell it was done afterwards. They replaced the decking with a really good insulative panel and all weather sheeting. The crew were amazing. There were a ton of them that basically swarmed the house to finish it off quickly. The first day of tearoff, they worked almost to dark to ensure it was all re-decked and covered properly. They worked on Saturday to get it done so we wouldn't be living in a house with a 1/2 finished roof over the weekend, and they scheduled the inspection for first thing Monday. They even ended up doing a little gazebo roof to match even though we hadn't included it in the original quote. Best of all, the final result is fantastic. Roof looks amazing - better than some of our neighbors! And we sleep soundly really feeling like it was done with quality. In all, completely satisfied customers - would recommend to anyone!! It was kind of a tricky problem that another roofing company could not identify upon similar inspection. He also told us we had a problem with our ridge row shingles that were splitting and correctly identified the manufacturer. He encouraged us to file a claim with the manufacturer since they were failing prematurely. We had arrived at a fair price for the leak repair, but not a date for the work. I noticed that rain had crept into the forecast so I emailed Mel on a Saturday and he got back to me right away that he would try his best to have it repaired on Monday morning before the rain. After tearing off my roof, crew pounded all the nails down. In the attic all the nails poked through over an inch. I was a shingle roofer for roofing companies for 8 years. We NEVER pounded nails down after a tear-off, always pulled them. The nails stick up after a tear-off so they're easy to grab. Takes about an hour for a crew to go over a roof and pull all the nails. Avoid at all costs! I found the need to register to Yelp just so others would know not to go to these people. A year and a half ago my roof started leaking. I scrambled for the yellow pages (big mistake) and Apache roofing were the only people I could get a hold of. Leo did some sort of work (how can you tell when you're not up there) and the roof didn't leak the rest of the rainy season. Said something was blocking the flow of water. $300 About 10 months later when it rained again, the leaks appeared in the same place. This time a little more worse because a new hole close to the original area started leaking. Now the boss man Mel came by and said he'd fix what went wrong. Now he blamed the previous home owner (been living at my home for 15 years now) for doing some sort of shoddy work and fixing what Leo missed last time. $300 plus a 3 year "guarantee". Again, 10 months later (mid Sept 09) it rained and leaked again! I'm not even going to bother with their 3 year "guarantee". Obviously I've been looking elsewhere for referrals of competent roofers This place gets 1 star because I can't give a 0, plus their leak stoppage did last a respectable 2 months of rainy seasons. read more

It's bad enough to discover your roof leaking, worse is that it's late night on a weekend. So, with rain luckily just the one night, we left a message for Apache Roofing and waited their reply on Monday - which came promptly. Speaking to Mel, we agreed to meet at my home at 8:30am the next morning. Not only were they a few minutes early but brought a trruck, ladder, and an assistant and went straight to work. To our great releif, he leak was due only to a dosplaced tile. Mel & Co. worked on straightening out a few other minor things whilst up there. The sum was 30 minutes and charged a fee so low, I doubt he could could cover ther cost of fuel and wages.
