We've used Chimney clean for years now to clean our two story dryer ducting. They are excellent at handling even difficult vents. Our two story unit has a mid-span "booster" fan that requires special effort to clean. Chimney clean is the only legit company I've found that seems to know the right way to clean these out. I don't like writing unfavorable reviews. We hired this company to install a wood burning fireplace insert that we purchased from them. They installed the unit along with a new chimney pipe for the winter of 2023-2024. Over time we began to have problems with the stove not drafting properly and sometimes filling the house with smoke. This ultimately culminated with our carbon monoxide alarm going off. We stopped using it. I thought maybe it needed cleaning so we hired them again to come out and do the cleaning service. They charged me $300 for the service and then told me that the stove pipe they installed was no longer attached to the stove allowing deadly combustion gasses to fill our home. Today they are out to correct the problem. Dan is working on it. He told me that Dennis, the man who did the installation, "forgot" to secure the pipe to the stove. This is a major mistake that could easily have resulted in the death of me, my wife and or our pets or guests. Dan said he would talk to Dennis about the mistake but honestly Dan's casual attitude towards this potentially catastrophic screw up was disappointing. Both my wife and I are now apprehensive about using the stove despite Dan's assurance that it is safe. We will definitely be installing more carbon monoxide detectors before lighting the stove again. Nathan was so professional and helpful. He listened, inspected, and resolved our dryer vent issue within an hour or so that took us months to try to get fixe My dryer vent was so clogged that it took several hours (essentially a whole day) to dry one load of laundry. We've called 4 different vent cleaning companies since April and requested them to bring an extension ladder since we live on the second floor of our building and our vent outlet is high. Other companies would come, try to clean the vent from the inside, say that the vent was too clogged, then proceeded to say that they didn't bring a ladder to reach the external side of the vent although they were forewarned. It's been a frustrating and anxiety inducing few months since this could cause a major fire hazard. When Nathan came, he brought his extension ladder as asked, understood that he needs to inspect the external vent access, identified that there was a whole BIRD NEST in there (!) and cleaned it up in unbelievably short time. UPDATE: I received a very courteous email stating that the technician had been corrected and an offer to come clean up any remaining lint. Much appreciated. We used Chimney Clean Company several years ago to clean our chimney and were pleased with the service, so I hired them last week to clean our dryer vent. We have renters, so I wasn't there for the service and paid them online. Yesterday I go to the property to work on the garden and I find lint ALL OVER the yard. It was like a nuclear winter. Grey fuzz on the plants, in between the deck boards, and all over the ground and mixed up in the mulch. I knocked on the door to talk to the renter to ask what happened. She said that big clumps of lint came off the roof and landed in the yard, and that then the Company used a blower (to clean???) which essentially blew the clumps into smaller pieces. She said it flew into the yards on either side of us and that she'd already picked up the bigger clumps. I was SHOCKED that the Company would leave someone's property in this state.
