The Bay Area Lions Gate team installed a replacement driveway gate opener an my Saratoga residence two weeks ago. They gave good description of the pros and cons of different options. They provided an estimate very quickly and and started the job shortly as soon as we returned to electronic authorization. It took a day for the installation, and then the next day the programming and prepare remote control devices. The came back yesterday for the planned follow up appointment to remove concrete pad frames, remove gate mounting brackets used for the previous gate opener, applied touch up paint, and performed final alignment. I would highly recommend Bay Area Lions Gate to install or repair any driveway gate opener. read more

They are not only responsive when quoting and installing the gates, openers and fencing, they are even more importantly, quick to respond to any service issue, I have been a satisfied customer for over five years and still recommend Lionsgate whole heartedly. Jack and his team were here within a few hours and the wind had blown a leaf into a spider web (during the recent storm) which moved enough to block my sensor keeping the gate from closing. I hired Bay Area Lions Gate to repair a gate, approved the quote, then didn't hear back for several months. After a significant amount of nagging, they finally showed up to fix the gate. It immediately broke. They returned to repair it after a few more months of nagging. It broke again. Now it's been nearly a year and is still broken, despite costing over 10k to repair with them. I found them on Yelp. There are a few different locations. I don't know about the others, but this Los Gatos team is awesome. I had my fence installed just over a year ago. Moses is THE BEST. I know we are all busy, and we can all use that as an excuse, but my friend dont. it's how you make the time and do your rounds that I truly appreciate. You were up front with timing and always met the commitment. You came to the site, trained up the paving company on what they needed to do and the phases to make sure the work was done efficiently and proper. You gave me the cost with various options and held to it. You also saved me a bundle by suggesting a solar powered gate instead of running power. It works perfectly. The install site was always clean. The install itself was done with care and attention to detail. I have had so many compliments on your product, my fence. I've had seen other fences of similar design, but fails on execution. The quality of the product is very very high and I truly believe I received a great return of investment. Moses is a fantastic and honest tech. One of my swing gates stopped working and I reached out to many companies on yelp. Several other companies came out and quoted outrages amount to fix the problem (basically asking me to replace the actuator without doing any testing). Moses made sure he diagnosed the problem correctly. He came out multiple times and made sure he only did what is needed to fix the system - which was basically a faulty wire! He was very transparent throughout the process and let me know what it would cost if he had to replace the system vs wiring or both. He also gave some suggestions for future upgrades (without pushing anything outright). I would definitely reach out to Moses if I need any gate related work! Highly recommend. read more

This review is NOT about the design and implementation of our gate, which was A+ and very collaborative. This one star review is ENTIRELY about the slowness in getting issues resolved with our gate since it was installed. We have had the following problems: 1. Concrete covering the underground cabling has been cracked and crumbling and in need of repair for OVER ONE YEAR. 2. The lights atop our gate columns have not worked for OVER ONE YEAR. 3. One side of our gate blew down in high winds and although Moses and team repaired it quickly, they needed to make one final adjustment to align both sides of the gate. We have been waiting for THREE MONTHS. 4. The magnet that ensures that the two sides of the gate stay closed is no longer working. We have been waiting on a repair for THREE MONTHS. There is no excuse for these delays, and its very disappointing, given the very good level of service we had received at the beginning. read more

Working with Tom and Moses showed me how a good licensed outfit should act in regards to dealing with issues the inevitably arise during construction. There is a reassurance that things will be done right, even if things need to be redone over and over again, One of the posts were placed in the wrong location. That was fixed. Then my driveway contractor did not place the conduit under the pavers correctly. That was fixed. The gates were slightly too short leaving a small gap. That was fixed. The cedar wood was too knotted (by Moses' estimation) and they bought new wood. Even weeks later, when the city gave me a warning letter and said they needed access to the gas meter, Moses was willing to move the entire automatic gate 10 feet back, at no cost to me, just to make things right. I'm really glad I chose to go with Bay Area Lion's Gate and I think you will be too! read more

I am remiss in not sending this review sooner. Moses installed two new motors, sensors and keypads for my elderly mother a couple of years ago. My mom is disabled from a stroke and can have difficulty communicating. She also is a widow and on a fixed income. Moses was very patient and took the time to understand what my mother wanted and needed. He worked with my mother to find a solution that was economical and efficient. Moses scheduled times to inspect and install and was punctual to both appointments and completed the work. I recently had to call Moses again as my mom's sensor was not responding. It turned out to be only a buildup of leaves and spider webs covering the sensor "eye", but again, Moses scheduled a time to inspect and arrived timely. After our gate stopped working I went online looking for a company that would be able to repair our gate. I called up a few companies, one of them Bay Area Lions gate. I explained to them the problem and that I needed it fixed asap, even though it was already late in the day they sent someone to check it out. They checked out the system and told us our system is really old (something that we already knew but were putting it off). I told them I really needed it fixed quickly since there have been a lot of burglaries in our neighborhood lately. The next morning they came by again and started working, installing a new system/engine and after a few hours they gave us the new remotes for the gate. The guys were really polite, didn't make a mess, and cleaned up after themselves. Overall we had a great experience with them, I highly recommend Bay Area Lions gate!!! Thank you!!! read more

Started off good. Moshe came to the house in July and worked with our gate fabricator to provide the gate opener mechanism. Construction completed and set up the install of the electric gate opener. Lions Gate employee showed up a day early. I'm thinking good, maybe he is prepping for the install (cement pad needed to be poured). He welded a bracket to the gate then said he was leaving for lunch. I went out to look at what he was doing and saw that he was installing the wrong gate opener. It was not what we ordered or had the site prepared for. He argued with me that it was the right one, then I showed him the job quote. He realized it was the wrong one. Long story longer, his boss sent him the the wrong address and installed the wrong opener. I went to call Moshe and he begged me not to call him because he did not want to get in trouble. "Its ok, I fix it" was his only comment several times. He removed the arm he had welded loaded his gear and left in a hurry. Leaving two big spots on my custom (very expensive) powder coated gate. The powder coat was completely gone in the welded areas. Moshe advised he would be at the house on Monday to meet with us. On Saturday some employee (I am assuming because he had nothing that identified him as Lions Gate) showed up with a can of spray paint and said he was here to fix the gate and install the motor. We turned him away because Moshe told us on Friday that no one will be there on Saturday for the regular install until he met with us on Monday. Monday came Moshe said he would fix it by removing the posts and having the powder coat redone. Not an option, not with the way it was anchored into the ground and driveway, plus would void any warranty from the gate fabricator. We agreed that the gate builder will repair the bare metal spots and Moshe would cover that expense. He advised that his scheduler would contact us and set up the installation. That was three weeks ago. Nothing, nada, no response to phone calls to Lions Gate. So, basically Lions Gate, came out on the wrong day, to the wrong house, and installed the wrong product. Which left me with damage to a brand new gate that I now have had to pay for to get repaired. Stay far away from this outfit, seriously bad business practices. It made me realize Moshe's priority when he said "i will make this right, I need good reviews and word of mouth for my work." If you have any questions regarding this review, feel free to contact me. I was in a bad way, while looking for keys that I thought I had to lock my gates, I could not find them. After many hours on the internet looking up how I could get another key, I called this company and they hooked me up with a technician MOSES in a matter of minutes. I explained my problem, and he asked about the name of the gate opener and I described it to him. He was at my doorstep in 15 minutes and left me his card and a new key for the manual gate lock on the gate opener, then sent me a text picture of this. What a very thoughtful gesture!! I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Best of all it did not cost me a thing! He had the extra key and thought it was a proper thing to do. Our Liftmaster automatic gate opener recently failed and needed service. I was very fortunate to find Bay Area Lions Gate and Moses. Moses was super knowledgeable and quickly came to troubleshoot the problem. There was no charge for the service visit which is quite impressive when some service contractors charge a minimum of one hour to make a house call. Moses was on time and quickly and efficiently solved the problem. Highly recommend Moses and Bay Area Lionsgate if you need automatic repair or advisement. Lions gate is efficient and reliable. The front gate to our drive was dated and kept breaking. We contacted Lions Gate who came out within 24 hours to asses our system. They recommended two good options for updating it. We selected a new system that includes touch pad entry, calling and video surveillance. I've never thought in the worst dreams I will have that kind of experience with a contractor that visiting my property, they was late, came in with unmarked truck no company name on it, I asked for estimate to my driveway gate and the sells person Tom told me I will need to level my driveway also and it will bring the costs up he was 30% more expensive then all other companies I asked for estimate I wouldn't recommend on this company it seems they are very unprofessional it is from my experience as a customer that inquired for estimate I do not know there quality of work and I didn't had any work done with them. read more

On this rainy morning, my gate decided to act up and wouldn't open. I needed to get that addressed right away as a closed gate meant not being able to drive out even if there was an emergency. I called the Bay Area Lionsgate frantically and my call was immediately answered by a nice lady. Within 30 minutes of my providing the details to her, Moshe Roash showed up at my gate and got the issue resolved within a few minutes. All it needed was a reset. I would have paid him any amount he asked for given his promptness and professionalism, but Moshe declined to charge me anything.
