This is the place you want to bring your car to get tinted. Everything is straight forward, no hidden fees, and knowledgeable staff. Brought my new 4Runner here today, appointment made for 12pm, vehicle went in right away, staff were very helpful and friendly, I had no idea what kind of tint I was looking for so they helped by showing me some examples and what I could expect from each tint level. I ended up going with a 5% in the rear and 18% in front. This is the second vehicle iv brought to BAWT, the first is holding up perfectly years later and I couldn't be happier with this install. Thank you for the transparent tint and pricing! I definitely recommend! *also the waiting room is really nice, comfortable couches, water, coffee, and about every streaming service you can think of on the TV.*

Luis did a great job with my 2017 Honda Civic. I had asked him what would NOT get me pulled over lol and he made some suggestions. 35% front, 18% back was what I went with and I could not have been happier. I just wish they had cleaned up the mess they made in my backseat. However, I would recommend BAWT cuz the tints are pretty solid and look sexy.

I been wanting to get my windows tinted and my sister recommended me to go to Bay Area Window Tint since her car came out nice. I called last Wednesday to schedule an appointment and they had an opening next day. There's a tv inside shop you can watch shows while you wait for your car which is pretty cool, convenient, and welcoming. Jorge is really nice and told me it will take an hour. Exactly an hour later my car was done. I love how my car looks. Definitely recommend to come here. Thanks!

Gave a quote and Luis replied immediately all in one day! He's super easy to talk to and informative when answering any questions needed. Price for window tinting was reasonable and I left satisfied! I had my Honda Civic Coupe tinted all around and it was ready in about an hour and a half. He also provides warranty on your windows. I definitely recommend getting your windows tinted by Luis!

I really liked my tint job, I would've given 5 stars but I was disappointed because I paid more than the initial given price :/ I was given a total price of 220$ for all four windows (which came out so nice!) but because I used my debit card I was told I had to pay fees and paid almost $20 extra. I had already placed a $40 deposit with my debit card prior to my appointment to reserve it, and so I still owed $180, I ended up paying almost $197 at checkout. I wish I would've known this was the case prior to payment so I would've had cash handy for payment. It also took almost three hours for my car to be done.. After about 1 and a half hours I called to ask what the status of my car was and the receptionist let me know it would be about 30/45 more minutes. I came in about 40 minutes later and when I arrived I was told my car was still not ready & that it would be another 10/15 minutes. I'm definitely not complaining about the quality but the wait time and price change were not what I expected. Make sure you take cash or you'll have to pay fees

I have taken four of my vehicles to Luis over the past few years and he has never disappointed. He is very professional and extremely thorough explaining the entire process and how to care for your windows once you leave. My latest tint job was to have him do ceramic tint on the front windshield of my truck. I highly recommend doing ceramic tint on the front windshield to reduce heat. This is where most of the heat comes into your vehicle. And most people neglect to do the front windshield. I still need to make another appointment to have my car done in the same stuff.

This is the work they do on a $80k show car. No customer loyalty. I brought them 5 cars. They didn't care about that. They completely blew me off. All my friends and I at Laguna seca, Thunder Hill and Capitol San José car scene will be going somewhere else now. The girl that works for them is incompetent and rude. Yes, you are right My car is 50k and I have 30k+ in parts and labor since that previous review. It's a 2021 fully built track car. I'm simply saying how much I care about the car and how much effort, time and money is put into it. How is paying with a card charged tax? but paying with cash isn't charged tax? I've never heard that before. I asked why and she kept saying that over and over like a robot. Okay why? Yeah, somebody broke or anybody would appreciate an extra 20 dollars burned up for no reason of course I said that. I told her my Loyalty and she just blankly stares at me, not hey I remember or really you did? Thanks, but, or hey you know this is the way we have to do it now or anything In that nature. Just stares like the robot thing. That's not good customer service. I never asked or tried to get a discount at all. I ended up having to download this app and make a profile to get the $20 off per her telling me to equal what I was expecting to pay, Which was more time and annoying, when most car businesses I deal with go hey you have spent allot of money here don't worry we got you. I'll charge you how much we said we would. I read the fine print. It says there will be a charge to use card. Yeah $3 dollars or $10 or $15 but $20!? I spent allot of money here and told so many people in the car scene about this place. How can I feel happy about all this? Why would I contact y'all and just feel railroaded again? So I wanted to share my experience. If the job was done right, whatever, forget about it! But it's not even done right! I look at it everyday and decided to speak up. That is all. There is no other elaborate sob stories or funny business with any numbers here. "I don't remember no $80k car" dude seriously how would you know that? Why can't you just say you remembered me or not instead of trying to make me look fishy or dishonest publicly about my numbers? Pretty straight forward. I was charged way more than I thought. Received bad customer service and came home with a very expensive yes 80k+ car that wasn't done right. I didn't refuse anything. Have a good day? It was 4pm. Yes I had a wonderful evening. Thanks.

I was honestly so happy with their warranty and their reviews. But after getting my windows tinted. I noticed a couple scratches on the side on my window. I immediately called them back and I told them about the scratches and how plastic was literally rubbing off on my fingers as I touched it. They laughed at me and insisted that it wasn't them. The scratches were so new that when I touched it plastic got on my fingers. This place has horrible customer service and I won't be coming back to tint my other cars. I honestly hope I don't need to come back if my windows start to bubble up. I wanted to add so Luis could see this. I live about 30 minutes away and by the time he told me to come back I had to go handle my own business. read more

Went here to get an x3 tinted here and Luis did a quick and amazing job with putting in 35s on the front two windows for such a great price. Pay cash to get a better price and be prepared to get your tints done in no longer than an hour. There's both space inside and outside to wait for your car to be done. Don't forget that you shouldn't roll down your windows for at least two days to let the film dry! Luis guarantees his work, and if you are not satisfied, he will fix it for you. read more

Today I took my brand new 2018 Honda Accord to Luis @ BAWT at 2 in the afternoon. I had only called him just a few hours before as I was very skeptical on who to choose to tint my windows. His response time was surprisingly quick and he was able to fit me in today, being that today was the only day I had time to do this. My mom & I dropped off my car to him at 2 and he said that it'd be done in an hour & a half. He took no longer than that and called us as soon as it was done. When we went to pick up the car, he brought it out just where I had left it. In the whole hour & a half, I kept thinking to myself how upset I'd be if something was wrong or if I'd even like it. I was way too nervous. Everything was perfect! No bumps, stains, watermarks, or anything else that I'd seen on other Yelp reviews from different places. You get great quality work for a great price! Luis did a great job on tinting my windows. I wasn't too sure about what percentage I wanted to do, but he walked me through it and what would be too contrasting. He doesn't do tints Mon/Tues so it was a little difficult at first to get an appointment when I would also be available. He was accommodating to my work schedule and let me drop it off a little later than his last time slot. There's also a lifetime warranty, so you can contact him if anything isn't to your liking. Got the job done in about an hour and a half! Will definitely recommend to friends and family. read more

Got my tint done January 2020. My appointment was scheduled for 1:30pm but I was going to be busy so they were cool with me dropping my car off in the morning and picking it up later that day. Got back around 5:00pm and the tint was perfect. That was eight months ago and today (September 2020) everything still looks great. Pricing was good too! If I ever need a job done again, I'm definitely going to hit them up. read more

Got my car tinted 5% all around. Dropped off my car, jogged to eastridge mall to pull out the money (he DOES accept card), but I needed something to keep me busy since I didn't feel like waiting there. I got to the bank about an hour later and got a text saying my car was ready. Called a lyft and headed back. Car looks hella clean!!! Tint and job is top quality. I called about 8 different places and he had the best price by at least 40$...... highly recommended. My gf just got her car SUV tinted today, also completely satisfied! read more

Bad experience due to BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. A shame because overall job turned out great! No actual policy for handling bad workmanship. No policy on line or on the receipt - per manager. Had all windows tinted except windshield. Called immediately to let staff know that I noticed a pebble between tint and window. Thought it wouldn't be a big deal. Figured they would have me come back right away and fix the issue. NOT THE CASE. I was told to come back six days later ( 5/11/2021) for INSPECTION only . Then they will schedule a third appointment to fix it. Very disappointed with customer service. read more

Called in Friday afternoon and Luis was able to squeeze me in at 8am Saturday morning. The tint job came out great, and was done at a very reasonable price. My only gripe was that there was no designated area. I wasn't offered a chair or anything. I stood around the back of my vehicle for about half of the time until I asked if I could sit on a stool that was in the garage. Also, it was below 60 degrees on this morning. A few chairs, a portable heater and some magazines could go a long way here... read more

We've taken 5 cars from 2020 to as recent as a few days ago (Explorer, F150, BMW, Tesla, and Bronco) so this review is long overdue. I moved to the Bay Area in 2020 from LA and called so many shops before finding this one. The prices here were so much more than I had been used to. I got the best quote with Bay Area Window Tint so I decided to cross my fingers and try them. I knew it was a risk, but their quote was 50% less than what I was getting at other places. I'm so glad I went because they did an absolutely amazing job. We took car #2 and again a perfect job. 5 cars later I'm still super pleased with their work. Luis was very professional, had a modest price and did a great tint job on my 2019 Subaru STI. He works out of a smaller space than his prior garage but has quality equipment and uses Suntek for his tints. He guarantees his work and was easy to communicate with when I had a few questions post-tint. 5 stars all around, only tint spot that'll I let work on my cars. I got my 2012 Lexus IS250 tinted by them about 4 years ago and still looks great. No bubbles or discoloration. Just took my second car 2016 Lexus IS350 and looks amazing. Don't waste your time looking for an other shop , this place can be trusted to get the job done right. read more

Overall good job, no bubbles or anything major. it's quite noticeable that two people worked on each side of the car. The drive side windows seemed fine, whereas my passenger windows has a rather bothersome gap from the edge of the glass when I roll it down. read more

Super nice guy been about two weeks almost and everything looks nice. I got 20 all the way around and I got pulled over the first day I got them haha but no ticket it is in a house not a shop and was a little hard to find but not too bad. Would definitely recommend BAWT price wise and quality wise over other competitors he was the lowest quote out of everyone in San Jose. read more

I brought my brandnew 2021 Dodge Challenger here and was very dissatisfied first off the owner has several other ppl working on your car when they bring it around back also kids hand prints all over mr doors and windows of my brandnew car which there was a kid in the workshop as well . Second the lady YESENIA who isn't licensed to perform this kinda of work is also working under the owner license as well bt again finding this out after my car was finished.smh.. when i came to my car there were so many air bubbles and water bubbles and carless marks on my brandnew car i wanted to cry after addressing this with YESENIA because the OWNER LUIS"LUCAS" was not there she refused to give me keys so i can open the door to take pictures of the inside of "my car". The car was at this shop over 5 hours and i had to wait for the owner to come and show him the visible air pockets and water marks on the windows he agreed that there were air bubbles bt also made excuses for the water marks which have never happened before and stated the kids prints on the door and around the car were visible to him as well. People make sure you ask who will be working on your car before you allow them to work on it LUCAS/LUIS the owner isn't always doing the work which is illegal to have unlicensed ppl wirking on other ppl cars when they don't know. read more

This young man and his colleague were extremely professional, highly skilled, and very friendly. My windows look amazing, they don't price gouge like a few other places I called. They have a lifetime warranty window tint and a three-year warrantee window tint... I went with a three-year because my car is a bit older. But they did a stellar job and I highly recommend them to anyone considering or looking for someone to tint their windows. read more

My name is Luis, I am 32 years old. I started tinting at 18 years old so I have been doing it for few years and counting. I’ve worked at multiple shops in San Jose but I always wanted to open my own shop. A couple of years later here we are at "Bay Area Window Tint" doing my best to get the job done and done right and keeping the customers happy.

The amplifiers were mounted inside the wheel well area, but when it came time to reinstall the trunk floor cover, it would not sit flat because the amplifiers were mounted too high. Instead of redesigning the installation so everything fit properly, the subwoofer enclosure had to be forced into the trunk, leaving a noticeable hump in the trunk floor. For a professional installation, I expected all factory panels and covers to fit correctly when the work was completed. I am also concerned about the amplifier placement because the amplifiers become very hot after driving on warm days. While I understand that amplifiers generate heat, mounting them in a confined area with limited airflow does not seem ideal for long-term reliability. Another concern is the grounding configuration. The capacitor was grounded directly to the battery, and both amplifiers were grounded through the capacitor rather than using a local chassis ground. While there may be technical reasons for this approach, it was never explained to me, and it differs from what many installers typically do in trunk-mounted systems. Better communication regarding the design choices would have been appreciated. Overall, the system works, but the fitment issues, equipment placement, and lack of attention to the finished appearance left me disappointed. For the price charged, I expected a cleaner installation, proper fitment of the factory trunk components, and a more professional final result.

Right during the very first campervan wash after my first RV trip, I found windshield water leaking/dripping from the passenger side when I sprayed water against the windshield. Instead of seeking for the warranty service, I decided to fix it at my own cost. That's why I selected Hong's auto glass shop based on its Yelp reviews. This morning I drove my new campervan to the auto glass shop as scheduled. Hong handled my case. He managed to find a very special angle in the passenger seat (see the attached photo) and pointed his flashlight for his inspection. Shortly he told me where the water leak point was and what the root cause was. The subsequent process to fix the water leak exhibited Hong's professionalism and impressed me. Late this afternoon, I washed my campervan's windshield for the 2nd time, which proved that the windshield water leak has been completely fixed, even after I applied more than doubled water volume, compared to the first time. A big THANKS to Hong who fixed not just my campervan's windshield water leak but also my first headache with my first campervan.
