Our garbage disposal seals failed and flooded our cabinets. We bought custom cabinets and a new counter top for Bay City in February of 2022 with promise of delivery in early March of the same year. We have yet to receive anything. They keep promising delivery, and then ghosting me. My insurance has forced me to return my claim because the work hasn't been completed in a reasonable time. Wish I had reviewed the comments before dealing with this company. One of my cabinets door was damaged. Been waiting 14 months with weekly and monthly contacts all with empty promises. I recently contacted the manufacturer only to find out bay city can't get just the door as they have been promising all this time. Since they dropped the ball during the first 30 days, the manufacturer won't replace it. So only resolution now is for them to get a whole new pantry which obviously they don't want to do. Absolutely no customer service after the sale with this company. Surprised they are even in business. I'm sure Kurt's parents must be disappointed with how he has damaged this company. Think twice before dealing with this company. It's worth the extra money elsewhere to avoid all the problems. read more

The sale person is very friendly but once you paid. They will IGNORE and GHOST you. We waited 4 months for our kitchen cabinets and it never showed up. They lied to us the cabinets were on route. Then they told us it was accidentally delivered to the wrong address, then they claimed to have lost our cabinets.... Too many lies and we are done. I am not sure how this business survives. Starting with the first impression...... Bay City Cabinets on Hillsborough Ave in Tampa looks like a dilapidated orange shack ready to be condemned. A random roadside flea market is neater and cleaner. I almost kept driving due to the dirty and ratty condition of this well-known business, but since it was an hour-long drive, I went in anyway. The cabinet stock is under what appears to be one giant carport ranging from some cabinets carefully wrapped in clearly plastic.... to stuff that looks like decade-old cabinets pulled from a nasty truck stop. The attached "indoor" building isn't much better. rooms are dark, cluttered, and looked to be constructed void of any plans or according to permitting guidelines. The only attraction is the cheap prices, with 1 important caveat, "they're as-is". Several cabinets were varying heights and depth for no reason, while everything is some sort of defect, hence being sold as "closeouts". It's all rejects. It could be the doors, hinges, shelves, missing toe kick, misaligned doors, incorrect sizes, etc. After looking around and having several questions about a bathroom vanity, the 2 employees walked around chatting, none could be bothered to come to help me. So I sought out one employee who was sitting down on his phone. I stood approximately 5 feet in front of him for about 30 seconds, waiting respectfully for him to acknowledge me, which never happened. Would not recommend based upon the horrible experience I had yesterday. I walked in needing assistance on a kitchen remodel. I had measurements of my kitchen drawn on a piece of paper and advised the salesperson that I was not an artist immediately when I provided him with my paper. It was not drawn to scale or exact as that is why I was coming to them. If I could do all that myself I could have just ordered everything online. I also brought a video showing the exact layout of my kitchen, cabinets in order to help answering any. questions they may have. The salesperson was not friendly, kept telling me my measurements were wrong and was someone at the house that could redo them as there was no way there was an angle where I was saying there was. I showed him the video of the kitchen paused it on the portion in question and reminded him again I was not an artist but these were the measurements. (My husband did them and he is very percise). He proceeded to tell me there was no way this could be right as if there were 2 sides w equal length that "angle wall" was not possible. I showed him the video again put on pause he still said not possible and was speaking to me as if I was stupid and should understand basic engineering ( again if that was my background would not have come in for their help). He began to draw it to scale to see if he could figure it out. He became more agitated as he could not figure it out. When he was finally able to draw it as I was describing it he stated that my description was different that the drawing I brought in and I explained again I was not an artist. He made a rude comment and at this point I was so humiliated and embarrassed I picked up my things said Thank you for your time Sir and walked out. On my way out there was another employee sitting by the desk at the door and he looked and me and I said to him That was a horrible experience - he did not acknowledge me. I will never step foot in this establishment nor will I recommend it to anyone. As sad as it makes me to think, I have to wonder if my husband would have been treated the same way had he brought in the same exact information. I bought my kitchen cabinets here. More importantly, an employee used software to help me plan my kitchen from measurements I provided. He worked with me and my wife on three separate weekends, until we had it just right. He even provided a couple of great ideas we would never have thought of ourselves. After delivery, when a couple of minor items were missing, he worked to expedite those. The prices were reasonable, the choice was excellent, but most important, the service before and after the sale was outstanding. read more

On August 6, 2022, I ordered two bathroom vanities and after making a 50% deposit we were told that the cabinets would take about 4 to 6 weeks to be ready for pick up. At 4 weeks my wife and I spoke with George who told us that he said it would take 6 weeks to be delivered. At the end of six weeks and hearing nothing from Bay City my wife and I went to their office and saw George and told him to cancel the order because they had breached the contract. George told us he could not cancel the order because it was a special order, (it was not). I insisted that the order be canceled at which time George said that only Kurt the manager could cancel the order. I asked to speak with Kurt and was told that he was not in. I told George to have Kurt call me when he returned to the office the following Monday. We made a number of calls to the elusive Kurt, none of which he ever returned. Finally, on October 6, 2022, when my wife went back to the office and threatened to sue Bay City for fraudulent activities we started getting some answers thought not the ones we wanted nor expected. On Friday, George called and told me that the cabinets were never order and Kurt said that he could, (all of a sudden) get the cabinets in by the following Wednesday or a refund. I opted for the refund of my $800 deposit which at the time of this writing we have not receive. I visited the office on Thursday, October 13, 2022, and of course Kurt was not there nor did anyone find evidence of the refund being processed. I called the office later in the evening to speak to Kurt. I was told he was in but with a customer and someone will call back. Of course no one called back. My account has not been credited as yet. Kurt Dunbar, the owner of Bay City Plywood, is unwilling to pay for product that he purchased in August of 2021 - he currently has $40,000 plus of invoices that he has not paid for nor has he provided a payment plan to even start to pay for material. Even scheduled me for an install and the installer never showed up and never called me to tell me why? I can't speak highly enough about the service at BC Cabinets. The wife and I stopped in for a vanity. Though the selection for 48" vanities was sparse (1 design, 3 colors), we found a cabinet and marble top for a reasonable price....all in about 15 minutes. The folks there are nice, knowledgeable and helpful. NOTE: There are some sale items available in the back/loading area that were crazy low priced. We were told they always have special sale items. Too bad nothing from that area met our needs. Highly recommended. read more

I would absolutely NEVER recommend using Bay City Cabinets. The place is filthy, the sales associates are uncaring and rude, and I have still not received the cabinets that I ordered and paid for back in April of 2021. This is now 10 months that I have been waiting for cabinets that I was told would take 6-8 weeks to get. I have called many, many times, including today, only to get a response such as "I don't have access to the computer" or "you need to speak with your salesman and he's busy right now", or they promise to check into it and call me back which of course they never do. I finally e-mailed the owner, Kurt, for which I received an immediate response apologizing for the inconvenience. I then asked him to let me know when the cabinets would arrive. He e-mailed me the next day that the cabinets would ship on October 08, 2021. Again, I asked when they would arrive and be delivered to my home. NO RESPONSE! I have since sent several e-mails to Kurt asking the same questions, again no responses from any of my e-mails. I will say that I did receive most of my original order in the 8-week time frame that they promised. Many of them were nicked and scratched and I was told that that is a shipping problem and not their problem. My "contractor" I found, ordered several of the cabinets in the wrong sizes, which of course is not the fault of Bay City Cabinets. I was told that I would have to re-order the cabinets in the correct size and could not receive a refund. I accepted this as it was my contractor's error, not theirs. I ordered and paid for the cabinets in April of 2021 and here I sit waiting for them 10 months later. Today's date is January 27, 2022. I just called, AGAIN, and was told by the salesman that Kurt was not available, my salesperson was not available, and the salesperson that answered the phone did not have access to the computer to look up my order details. He did say that he would call me back as soon as someone was available to check on them for me. I chalk this up as just one more lie from this very untrustworthy company with absolutely zero customer service skills. No one at Bay City Cabinets cares about the customer including the owner Kurt! My next course of action will be to either contact my attorney or one of the news stations, or both!!! read more

I left and went to another of their locations. The man was apologetic about my previous experience and said he would send someone out to my house do their own measuring and get me an estimate. RUDE! The attitude the sales guy took with me was shocking and completely unwarranted from the moment I walked through the door today. He would ask me a question and then interrupt me to tell me what I did or didn't want even before I finished answering the question. During the 5 minute conversation he said what I wanted would look "stupid", corrected me on calling the configuration a "peninsula" because it didn't connect to my existing cabinets (although it does connect to a wall, so I don't think that's technically an island either), condescended to me for asking if they made their own cabinets "no, we wouldn't have this showroom if we did... that's not how this industry works", told me the door style I'm looking for "doesn't exist" (there a 4 similar styles at Home Depot now), and said he didn't need to bother putting cabinet specs together for me... but if I wanted to look at the scratch and dent next door I could. read more

After making our decision we sat down with George Purvis and he answered all our questions and made us feel secure in our choices. Poor customer service; prices are the same as other stores; so why should I give them my thousands of dollars to this angry atmosphere. There was only one other person in the show room and the 2 salesmen acted like they did not have the time to help me. One sales person completely ignored me; the other ignored me when I first walked in; then he acted as if he was bothered that I did walk in.
