If you're on the road and gotta go....then go here. This is…read moremy 1st visit and its......adequate. The vendor machines on the north side were empty and there are machines on the south side but selection is "meh". There is a low grade funk that permeates the building, like a septic smell. It smells like Fabuloso and old farts, you dont know whether to inhale or hold your breath. Its relatively clean, a but run down (its old) but its okay. The good part is this appears to be the only rest area for miles and miles, so for that its come in clutch. The bad part is this is the only rest area for miles, so you have to stop here. On a beautiful like today, there is an outdoor area where you can sit at picnic tables under a tree. Its a nice place to 'woosah' and shake the road off for a few minutes. They have clearly marked NO DOG areas, so don't ruin it for the rest of us and take your dogs in there. We're only on this highway because WAZE took us on a wildly different route than we normally travel, so I doubt I'll ever be back this way. There is a welcome center with maps and such you can go in and peruse. If you are big into Monster drinks there is a vending machine here that dispenses them, although I can't attest to it being stocked. Drink at your own peril.

This place is beyond disgusting. I've unfortunately had to stop here twice, and I almost wish I…read moredidn't and had a bathroom emergency - it would probably be a more enjoyable experience. The bathrooms are dark, hot, smelly, look like they've never been cleaned, barely any soap, floors and walls are disgusting. And the urinals have no dividers - the cherry on top. It is truly an absolute last resort stop. This place is not worthy to be called a "rest stop"

"Maryland! My Maryland! Hark to an exiled son's appeal,…read moreMaryland! My mother State! to thee I kneel" (Maryland state song before it was repealed in 2021) Not much here except some nice bathrooms, outdoor vending machines, and a decent Welcome Center with lots of tourism brochures, informational panels, a host station to answer your questions, and a photo op station for the kiddies. In other words, all of the essential needs for travel are here!

It was nice to be walking distance to restaurants and the Tiki Bar too. Two highlights of our trip were a visit to the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center and a sightseeing cruise from Coastal Cruises who were docked at the hotel!

When we checked-in we learned that there were three weddings happening that weekend. The people working the front desk were beyond kind and helpful. We ended up with a highway view room, but we didn't mind because there were enough common spaces to see the water. We had a delicious lunch at Fisherman's Crab Deck next door. My dad then picked us up at the docks at this Hyatt on his boat which was so easy an amazing. The room itself was just what we needed. It even had a pull out couch. The only complaint was that the bathroom didn't have a fan and steamed up really quickly and the AC was a bit weaker than expected. The water pressure was really strong and nice. It was enough space for four people for a night. Parking was easy to find. And the morning breakfast had a lot of great options. I especially loved that they had oak milk. I would stay at this Hyatt Place again and recommend it!
