This was my first visit to Bay Dental with Dr. Anthony Cirillo, and I had an excellent experience from start to finish. The office is extremely clean and well organized. I was seen right away, which I really appreciated. Upon arrival, they took a panoramic X-ray, and then once I was seated in the exam chair they completed my regular dental X-rays. My hygienist was absolutely wonderful, very thorough but also incredibly gentle. She even finished by flossing my teeth, which surprisingly many offices skip. She also took the time to show me how to properly floss some of my problem areas, which I found very helpful. Dr. Cirillo was just as thorough. He carefully reviewed my X-rays and discussed his findings with me. I needed a filling replaced, and he was able to take care of it the same day. I also have bonding on my two front teeth that needed some improvement, and he addressed that right away as well. After two years, I finally find the courage to write this review...and I am a pretty avid reviewer on Yelp. In September 2023, I hit my front tooth playing pickleball. It went gray and I consulted with my dental friend from HS and I was told that it went narcotic, meaning the tooth was dead and it was beneficial to take it out. After some research and out of desperation, I called Bay Dental at the Pointe because it was close to me. I gave them my insurance and they checked for me and told me the whole process would be $350ish. But that's when everything went bad. During my initial consultation with Dr. Circosta, I was told to come back and do the procedure the next appt after the initial consultation. But he then told me that since I was here, I might as well do the procedure. I didn't know exactly what that meant at the time, so he proceeded to do the surgery and took my whole tooth out. I kid you not, the experience was so traumatizing I went home and cried for three days straight. During the next appt, I was told that I would be charged an extra $95 because of the consultation, like wtf? I was like, "Fine, I needed this to be done." But then it's like one after another, the communication between what was needed to be done was so bad I felt like I was not taken care of as a patient. The only thing that was good abt this place was that it was a clean facility. Other than that, the dentist was abysmal at making his patient feel confident/good. When I spoke abt the co-pay, he said that was not his job and that I needed to speak to the front desk. And when I asked questions about the whole process with the tooth, I was left feeling like it was my fault. I don't think anyone should feel like that. The dentist might be good at doing his job, but come on, gain a grip on your emotional intelligence. After the whole thing, I believe I paid out of pocket a total of $650+ for the few times I saw them. Three months after the procedure, I went back to my old dentist in East Village for my regular check up because I did not feel good going back to this place at all. After a few x-rays, I found out through my old dentist that the tooth that they installed had a scratch line across. Like what the hell? I don't believe I did anything worthy of showing signs of scratches/cracks already. The overall experience with them was just so very disappointing and frustrating. Here and there when I wake up in the mornings in the last two years, I feel so taken advantage of and upset when my tongue touches my front tooth. I just couldn't justify my experience in my head. To sum, I would not recommend this place. This place is so dishonest and cluster f*ck. I feel like people should know how this place works and make their own judgments. read more

Fantastic dentist! I saw Dr. Circosta yesterday for the first time and I was thoroughly impressed by the staff, the facility and the doctor. The facility was clean and beautiful and had brand new equipment and technology. The staff was prompt, friendly and helpful. The techs/assistants who did my x-rays and cleaning explained everything thoroughly and were super attentive to my needs and to making sure I was comfortable with everything they were doing. The doctor was friendly and thorough and made sure he explained how the exam went and asked if I had any questions. I can't say enough good things about my experience. I will definitely be sticking with Dr. Circosta for all my dental work going forward. read more

I went for a cleaning. First thing they did was take lots of x-rays, which didn't show any cavities. However when the dentist looked at my teeth, he said I had lots of cavities and to make 2 additional appointments. When I asked him to show me these cavities, he showed one side and said the other side was "basically the same" so didn't show me. I've always had "good teeth." I've had just a couple of cavities in my whole life, no root canals or any other major dental work. I usually get complimented on my teeth/oral hygiene when I go for cleanings. Wanted to start Invisalign as my teeth have shifted, so I had gone to an orthodontist during the summer, who told me I had "great bone levels" and "beautiful teeth." They took x rays, nothing was wrong. I was asked to get additional x rays from a dentist. My dentist had recently retired so I went to Bay Dental. I also got a cleaning, and the dentist came out after and to my horror told me I had four cavities in four different teeth, bone loss, gum recession, that i was "high risk" for gum disease - something I've never been told before (nor have I ever had any issues with my gums), and that it was his recommendation that I get a cleaning every 4 months as opposed to every 6, because my mouth was just that dire. Scared, I made an appointment for a fill in , the first of two appointments i was told i would need, and I was required to leave a $250 Down payment - which I've never been Asked to do for any reason at any other dentist. I couldn't believe it. And the more I thought about it, I just didn't believe it. My teeth don't hurt, no sensitivity, and I had just two months prior had my teeth looked at and was specifically told my bone levels are good and every thing looks great. After 31 years of having healthy teeth, they had suddenly deteriorated so drastically in just two months - without any pain or sensitivity or noticeable change ? So I got a second opinion. I don't have cavities or bone loss. No indication that i should be going for cleanings more often than anyone else. These people are liars and thieves and the psychopath dentist was really going to deceive me into getting unnecessary and irreversible work done to my teeth, which to me is assault and a direct violation of Hippocratic oath to "do no harm." I wish I could do more than just write a yelp review, they should be criminally investigated. read more

Dr Kaplan has been helpful and informative since I started going to him. His bedside manner makes not-so-fun procedures more comfortable. The office is clean and the staff is nice and accommodating. Let me start by saying Dr. Kaplan is a great dentist and i had been a patient here for a while and had no issues. Some of the prices for things were a bit higher but no complaints. Due to COVID I had to postpone my appointment for my cleaning. Once things started to get "semi-normal" I went on the website and made myself an appt for a cleaning- which the website allowed me to do being a pre existing patient and it was for within the next two weeks. Unfortunately something came up a few days before my appointment so I called the office to reschedule. I was told they couldn't find my appt , put on hold for about 10 minutes and then told that I couldn't reschedule for another 4 months because the upcoming appointments available online were for NEW patients only and it was an error I was even allowed to make an appointment and the doctor would make no exceptions. Now I understand that there was an upsurge of appointments with the pandemic delaying cleanings and even trying to obtain new patients but I could not believe it would take my 4 months to get an appointment for a cleaning when there was all open times on the website. I expressed this to the girl in the phone and her answer was basically I don't know what you want me to do this is it. I said to her perhaps I will have to take my business elsewhere given that this is not a PERSONABLE experience especially to have with a doctor. She told me to do what I had to do. I was completely blown away that this is how this office would handle the care of existing patients so heads up to new patients BEWARE.
