Where do we begin? We started refinancing our homes in early June 2016. The goal was to consolidate some debt, while lowering our monthly two properties. We started with a company we found on bankrate that was advertising the lowest rates. Long story short they were asking for letters of explanations and never really getting back to us. We are patient people and after 4 months (end of September) of no progress we decided to move on. A 500.00 lesson learned. Next stop a family friend. She seemed a little bit more interested in trying to get us to sell everything (using her and her partner) and to buy new properties. Lost another two weeks (mid October) and the cost of running credit reports. :( womp womp What brought us to here? The wife had reminded me of the loan officer who helped us with our second home (Nora Guerra). After a couple of phone calls to our realtor, he was able to get us Nora's contact info. I cannot say enough good things about her. Her and her team are simply amazing. Professional: They get right down to business Honesty: gives a great direct assessment of time, money and challenges Hard Working: communications are always answered in a timely manner Knowledge: Nora and her team always offered up solutions and made the process less stressful. From beginning to end the entire process took 6/7 weeks. which was completely fine seeing there was clear communication back and forth. Well needless to say, here we are 11/28/16 and we have just completed our refinance. We would love to say that Nora (and her team) did an amazing job helping us get this done. As first time home buyers we were very skeptical and had many concerns about the process. You know people say things and you dont know whether or not to believe them. Most speak from their experience, and i needed to form my own opinion. I recommend working with Laura Gonzalez she is amazing at getting things done and staying true to her words. I know cause I closed with them in July 2017. She was honest when she quoted me the interest rate however things did increase but that wasn't in her control. She worked with me to make me feel comfortable since it's my 1st time working with them, when I noticed new fees on the loan she fought to get it corrected and made sure I knew that the fee will be removed. Overall, I will be working with her again in the future and I completely recommend her if you are looking for a good loan officer. read more

You and your company made this process UNBEARABLE considering the fact she was raising her two grandson's during her battle with cancer and they had to be dragged through the unprofessional process Bay Equity Loans put us through. I would tell them what the last day would be only to find it had been postponed time after time. It was heartbreaking for them and twice during the process they moved into a hotel only to find it would be delayed again. In addition, I/we started with one company in the loan process then all of a sudden realized the person that was processing the loan for the buyer quit her previous job and began working with your company. We didn't even know it was transfered to your company until the escrow officer called me and asked what was going on. Mr. Restrepo, this was a year ago and the ONLY reason for your correspondence was to ask me to take down my posting. Others need to know what took place. SHAME ON YOU AND YOUR COMPANY. The process with Bay Equity Home Loans left my nephews (her grandchildren) devistated. Her sudden death was hard enough, making the decision to sell the only home they have lived in was hard enough but the way your company handled it was something I would never wish on anyone. We were recently looking to refinance our home and had brought in all of our paperwork to the Greenleaf plaza in Whittier, CA, at first we tried Bank of America and no one was available to help us then we went to Wells Fargo and again were asked to leave our contact information and were promised to get a call back. My husband and I decided to put our paperwork back in the car and go for a walk, that's when we saw the Bay Equity office and decided to give it a try, needless to say we refinanced our home with Bay Equity and worked with Mario on the transaction, I would like to say that Mario was efficient and delivered everything he promised, he went above and beyond to help us with the transaction and even provided nice gestures during the process. My family would definitely recommend working with him; I would also like to add that we finally did get a call from one of the big banks we first inquired with; by this point we were at the funding stage with Mario and would definitely continue with him. Whatever you do DO NOT WORK W/ JOHAN MATUS! He's out of the Commerce, CA. office has lots of pretty awards lined up in his office but don't be fooled he is one of the most unprofessional brokers I've ever met. I should've known how things would go after he insinuated his shady business practices during our 1st meeting..... Basically, he sold us a dream and has completely wasted our time. He preapproved us for a loan before getting all of our documents finalized, told us it was ok to find a property then once we won the bid on a home and requested the necessary docs to close the deal his communication began to lack & the run around began. Ultimately Johan has caused us to loose out on a property that we never would have bid on to begin with if he hadn't told us we were ready. While purchasing your first home is not an easy task, working with this guy will make it all the worse. I am highly disappointed & dissatisfied and wouldn't refer anyone to him or this company for that matter. read more
