The food here is so good. I had dinner here with a bunch of picky eaters; two toddlers and my baby brother (he's 31 but only orders chicken tenders). They all scraped their plates. We had the tikka masala, garlic naan, and butter chicken. The basmati rice was also delicious by itself. I added potatoes to my tikka masala which was a great choice. I ordered my food medium-hot, it tasted very mild but i didn't mind since it was so good. The veggie samosas need a paragraph of their own! The fam was craving Indian food, and this new place in downtown Bothell was closer than our favs in Northgate and Bellevue, so we decided to give it a whirl. We ordered take out on a Saturday night. The food is definitely passable, but it's not the best Indian around. Here's my review of their dishes from best to worst: Chicken tikka kabobs - hands down the best thing we ordered. Tender, flavorful chicken with delicious grilled veggies, rice, and a salad - yum! Not very Indian, but fantastic. The veggie samosas were also very solid - alas, I didn't like the dipping sauce. The butter masala chicken was disappointing - probably because I've had outstanding versions of this dish elsewhere and this one was only so-so. The brown curry with beef was totally edible but not inspiring. These two were satisfactory. Now we're down to the not great dishes. Veggie korma had some spicy heat, but none of the other great flavors of korma. The naan was thick, tough, and not very good. Maybe because we did take out? I wanted to like the food here because it's super close to our house and they seemed friendly when I came by for pickup. But I don't think this will become our new fav. read more

My husband and I just had dinner here for the first time. We loved it! He had the lamb and beef kababas and I had the chicken one. It was delicious! So flavorful! I am excited to have this is DT bothell. We orered take out. I get the Saag Panneer my son ordered the Lamb Biranyi and garlic Naan. My take away is it was OK. My meal was fine, but I would have liked a little more seasoning. My son enjoyed his meal, but he asked for level 3 spice, and felt like he got level 1. Good Indian food that gets the husband willing to visit again. Got the chicken Tikka kebabs which I really liked the flavor and texture of the chicken. It was a nice char too but I didn't care much for the side vegetables and salad. The butter chicken was a bit tangy but acceptable. I liked it spicy and felt I could have gone more. A yummy spot in downtown Bothell. I ordered online through their website and it was a very simple straightforward process. We got the Chicken Tikka Kabab, Beef Tikka Kabab, and Garlic Naan. Each of the meats came on a large bed of rice with a side of salad and grilled veggies. The salad was delicious. The grilled veggies were so flavorful and perfectly cooked. Of the two meats I did prefer the chicken over the beef. The beef was a bit too tough. But both had great flavor. The garlic naan was very yummy but I would have liked the garlic to be more pronounced. The portion size was pretty generous and I had enough leftover for lunch tomorrow. I've been wanting to go to this place ever since it opened, and I am so glad that I finally did. The food was absolutely excellent, the house wine was very good, the service was warm and friendly, and the ambiance was quite elegant. The menu is extensive. We had saag with prawns and lamb biriani with garlic naan. These could not have been improved upon. I'm looking forward to our next visit and sampling some of their other dishes. The customer service at this place is just terrible. This is the 2nd time that we have tried to pickup our order and it has not been on time. Each time we got a message saying the food is ready and yet when we arrive at the restaurant we are told that they are still working on the order. We have had to wait for 20 minutes even though we arrived at the restaurant after they texted that the food is ready. And the only excuse that is offered is that we had too many orders, some with similar name to yours so someone probably took your food. There is never a sincere apology for the delay. Both chicken tikka masala were overly sweet but the flavor was good. The chicken curry was overly salty but the flavors were good. Naan was great. We get food from Bay Leaf at least once a week and really like the food. They are one of the Indian restaurants who ensure spice level is kept at the level we request and we never had any issues after having their food! My rating is based on following factors: We went there after reservation but upon our arrival they said that we had no reservation. Eventually they arranged us a table. Not sure if we went there on a wrong day as the servers seem unexperienced. They had no proper arrangements on table. Only three glasses of water for a group of 7 which were also empty and we had to ask repeatedly to bring water, plates, cutlery etc. We had to wait 45 minutes for food (they gave us complimentary samosas and pakoras). Wow! Excellent Indian Food. My son has traveled in India, and he recommended the saag paneer. We had that in addition to our entrees - it has a spicy, creamy spinach sauce, and cheese.
