I'm not an Indian food expert by any means, but I thought everything here was tasty. I could sit and eat the entire garlic naan by itself. It took awhile to get our food but we were in a bigger group and I tend to just assume that the pandemic slowed everyone down. Will definitely be coming back! read more

I was beyond excited for Bay Leaf Bar and Grill to open up. Not only is it Halal, but the taste of the Indian Cuisine is purely authentic and mouth watering. The staff members are as friendly as they get, they provide great costumer service which makes the experience 10 times better. Not only is the location beautiful and the restaurant itself is very very beautiful, the food was very tasty. I would definitely say, from what I got, that it is catered towards Americans when it comes to spicy. I got 2 orders of butter chicken, one medium one hot, both weren't spicy AT ALL. If you love spicy Indian food I recommend asking for extra spicy?? I'm not sure if they have this option though. The flavors were great! The best Chicken Biryani I have had in a very long time. The Butter Chicken was also very very delicious and the Naans were great too. The food was not oily and the taste was perfect. I loved that it wasn't spicy / hot because of the kids and so happy that for once a restaurant understands what MILD means. Thank you. A bit of diversity in the food options for downtown Bothell. This was my first order and if first impressions are any indication; I will be ordering (and hopefully going there) soon.  I stayed with the Indian influenced part of the menu with butter chicken, veggie pakora and some seriously good garlic naan. Looking forward to switching cuisines and trying the gyro and hummus! Delivery was timely, the brown rice requested was not available, substitued with basmatti rice and my account credited--perfect! My family and I tried Bay Leaf on a whim tonight, and I'm so glad we did! The food was so good. It was fresh and flavorful. The samosas are yummy. I got the tandoori chicken and garlic naan. By far the best I've ever had. It's an almost hour drive from my home, and I'll be back. The service was great. It's a family run place, and they really make sure you feel like you are part of the family. It was a fantastic experience. Stopped in on a snowy winter night when little else was open and were so happy we did! Lovely decor and delicious food. We had a mixed Mediterranean kabob plate that was nicely marinated on a bed of rice. The salad was fresh. With a cup of hot tea, it made for a satisfying meal on a cold night. Overall, food was great! Butter masala with chicken had good flavor and the meat was tender. Tandoori chicken was delicious -- smokey but cooked properly and was very moist. Garlic naan was fresh but could've been hotter. The only mediocre item was the baklava as it didn't seem fresh at all and the filling tasted extremely smokey. Docking half a star for waiting over 30 minutes for the food (seemed like they were prioritizing takeout orders instead of dine-in) and another half for the smokey interior. Not sure what happened but half way through the meal, an abnormal amount of smoke escaped the kitchen and permeated throughout the dining area. We rushed to finish our food but by then our eyes and lungs were already irritated, so it wasn't the best end to a good meal. Hopefully the ventilation (or whatever other issue) is fixed when we return next time. read more

Very glad we gave this place a shot. Have walked by a number of times recently and was curious to try. My mother grew up in India and makes Indian food all the time, so I think I have a somewhat discerning palette when it comes to this type of food. We ordered the dolmathes, mediterranean salad, garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, and okra masala. The orders came with basmati rice. The okra masala was my favorite - extremely flavorful, well spiced, and the consistency of the okra was perfect (cooked but very slightly crunchy). The chicken tikka masala was excellent too - a bit sweet but great flavors and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The rice was buttery and fluffy. The garlic naan was excellent as well. The salad and dolmathes were good but not as good as the rest, so don't think I'd order again. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely come back again soon! read more

First time trying this place and I have to say they should change the name to the Bland leaf. The to go order was missing items, we ordered 2 different curry's and we got the same one for both. I asked for 5 stars and extra spicy, yet there was no heat what so ever. The appetizer (Samosa) was extremely greasy with little to no spike (mainly just pastry). The curry was bland and had no taste. The best part of it was the rice. So we will not be back, and I would expect that this place shall be gone within 6 months if this is the quality they maintain. Shame, I love Indian food, this was not Indian food and a frozen meal from QFC would have been a lot better. read more

I'm suspicious of the positive reviews of this place. Sauces are extremely bland. Meat tasted old and was tough. Their $7 salad is just a huge pile of shredded iceberg lettuce (probably from a bag) with a few barely perceptible slices of tomato and a couple shreds of onion, and what is most likely just Wishbone Italian dressing - LOL! "Yogurt" sauce was actually a Mayo or ranch dressing base - NOT yogurt. So cringe-worthy. They forgot our naan bread, so didn't get to try that. If I had to guess, they just re-heat their meats/sauces night-after-night. Food safety issues probably can't be ruled out. The rice and the mango lassie were both fine though, but those would be pretty hard to mess up. This was an expensive meal, and was completely not worth it. There's a better Indian place in Mill Creek and in also in Woodinville which are both fresh and flavorful. read more

I wanted to like this place given all the rave reviews I'd heard locally. Sadly, I can't give it more than 3 stars. I ordered chicken tandoori and the korma and a middle eastern dish to mix it up. I found the flavors of the meat dishes to be quite bland. The korma had some spice and kick to it, but it was just ok. Portions were ok (if a bit lean for the chicken tandoori), way too much rice was included, and food was packaged fine for takeout. I expected more flavor and balance in the food than I experienced. read more

I love the concept of Mediterranean and Indian cuisines under one roof! The food was delicious, but the service was poor. I was the only one in the restaurant, and I had to yell "hello" to get the waitress's attention. She was nice, but had no concept of service. I've experienced many Indian and Mediterranean cuisine restaurants in the Seattle area and the best by far is Bay Leaf Bar and Grill. The food was amazing with a perfect blend of spices. The servings are generous and presented in such a way that you cannot wait to taste what was just set in front of you. The service along with the food was most excellent as all the people were very gracious. Also make sure to take some time to view the items they have displayed and ask about them as this will contribute in part to a complete and pleasurable experience. I cannot wait to go back and I would highly recommend using them for any private dinners or meetings. They are sure to please.
