I did not have an appointment, however, I was able to be seen within 15 minutes or so. Typically they ask you where you want them to focus or what have been aching you-- that was not done here, but I guess that was okay. There was no banter, the lady just went to work. I want to reiterate I'm very used to massages, even though it's been about two years since I did one. The lady was actually hurting-- I'm a bigger guy, I have a high pain tolerance but it was way too much. I think she saw me noticeably flinching a lot; I asked her not to be as rough. It got a little better but she applied way too much pressure. The whole massage to me was a bit unique, so of the style utilized was unfamiliar with me. I did appreciate the hot stones toward the end, though. I wanted to hold off on writing my review until I saw how I woke up or if I was going to be in pain, lol. I guess in the ends to justify the means!

I really appreciated that she asked about my massage preference beforehand--whether I preferred light pressure, deep tissue, etc. She did an excellent job working out the kinks and knots in my back and neck. Whenever the pressure felt a little too strong, I let her know and she adjusted right away. Although the massage rooms are private, the walls don't go all the way up to the ceiling--they function more like dividers--so you may hear someone in the next room. Personally, I didn't mind because the relaxing zen background music helped mute most of the noise. Mia is such a sweet person and an excellent masseuse. After realizing it wasn't going to get any better I had to stop the low effort lackluster massage to make her aware. Instead of apologizing she appeared shocked to have been called out on her work ethic. I remained polite but refused to pay or continue for services that my toddler can perform.
