This is a beautiful spot, you do have to park on the side of the road in a residential neighborhood but it's not busy, I took my dog and she absolutely loved it, joked about 1.5 miles, the view is beautiful and it's definitely windy. I recommend wearing hiking boots rather than running/regular tennis shoes because if there is any water the mud IS slick! I plan on coming back and hiking more, the hills definitely vary in their incline which made it extremely enjoyable and fulfilling when you reached the top!

Beautiful day to walk this trail. Not for the faint of heart. Lots of ups and downs. Various benches to rest, no restrooms. Hidden gem for sure! We will be back.

Love this place never knew it was here and I've lived in this town most of my life. Its a beautiful view from the top and a great way to get a quick hike in.

Really nice view of the city, but trail is bumpy and not leveled. Would recommend to watch where you step.

Can't really hike this from the main road anymore, because they closed the parking area. So you have to drive to the back of the trail which is inside the hiddenbrooke community itself. Edit 6/12/2018: the trail is fairly overgrown and not maintained at this point. The trail is still hikeable, however you will be walking through tall dry grass and weeds for most of the trail. My legs got scratched up a bit. Spotted a snake wondering across the trail this time as well. Snakes are hard to see as the overgrowth obscures them fairly well. The first few hundred yards is cracked dry dirt that makes it easy to roll an ankle. I'm surprised this trail is this overgrown and not maintained given the money that is in that community. The trail is labeled at the trailhead. It is good for biking, horseback riding, and hiking. No dogs are allowed, however you will find nothing but dog shit on the main entryway for a good mile before it stops. The trail runs along some hills with constant incline and declines. However, it isn't all too difficult to hike. Half way through you will pass through a cattle walkway and enter the cow shit zone. There are patties everywhere. And you'll likely wander around some cows, but they scatter at first sight of you. The trail is clear for wearing shorts, however the ground isn't very flat as it is ravaged by cows on a daily basis.

The entrance is located at the base of the tree that is located at the 4-way stop…read more There is no shade on this trail so be sure to put on sunscreen & possibly wear a hat., The trail zig-zags so that there is no steep incline. There are some bushes that veer into the trail but it's not out of control, you can just work your way around it. Beware of dog poop, seems like no one picks up after their dog, EVER. It's a good trail to hike before work just as the sun is rising. It's short enough but still gives you a good cardio workout. I'll be back to finish the hike in it's entirety,

This is run by a lovely, local couple who almost felt like family in the short time we were there. They boosted the confidence of my son with reassurance and also took the time to help us get back to our vehicle after it unexpectedly broke down on our way to the river. Just wanted to say they are really good people. They also gave us great guidance to navigate the river with quality equipment!

While we have used different outfits lately - we had a great experience with Russian River Adventures a few years back, so we came in excited to return. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing, mainly due to poor planning by the staff. We booked for four people on a Thursday - my wife, myself, and our two teens (14 and 16)--with the expectation that we'd have two boats, which is standard for this group size. However, the team miscounted the boats that morning. When we pointed this out, instead of fixing the mistake, they pulled us aside and crammed all four of us into a boat intended for three, squeezing in an extra seat to make it "fit." Visibly frustrated, the team promised to speak with the owner and make it right (it was two high schoolers running it that day). I didn't argue and wanted to at least try to have a good time and not be that Dad. The result on the boat? A very cramped and uncomfortable setup that made the inflatable much harder to steer and navigate--especially on a 9-mile river trip. This wasn't the experience we paid for or expected based on our prior trips. The staff seemed more focused on moving us along rather than making it right. Still haven't heard from the owner. We'll likely explore other options next time around. Disappointed to see the service slip like this.

We stopped at a great country store and bought gourmet sandwiches for the next wine stop.
