It was truly the best experience! Michael did a fantastic job keeping us safe. It was worth every penny and every moment.

It was amazing, thrilling, safe, and never a dull moment!! Best experience ever! Micheal was a great tour guide and kept us safe the entire time.

Everything went very well and exceeded our expectations!! Early on and well in advance obtaining pertinent information for planning by phone and email, Greg was so detailed and patient answering all the questions. Finalizing our plans we worked with Rebekah and she was very kind and diligent and reassuring. The tent cabin by the river was a beautiful spot and loved waking up hearing the river. It was a very hot day and the it cooled off which was great. Clean bathroom and showers, running hot water a plus. They have volley ball, corn hole, zip line and rock climbing wall. Overall, beautiful campsite and we can't wait to return. Rafting was amazing, Aubrey and Maggie were the guides for our group and they made our experience so fun! We always felt safe and well informed. We all were first time rafters, great experience and soooooo much fun!!! I highly recommend Mother Lode for your one stop shop!!

Forever friends and their beautiful guide, Daniella

Daniella took care of us all weekend long. Made sure we had what we needed in camp and took us on two awesome trips down the river. She was exceptional!! We absolutely loved out time there.

My group with our awesome tour guide in the back! Chinky eyes for days hahaha

I came here on 4th of July with my friends and had a wonderful time! Although no longer available, this is the groupon deal we purchased (https://www.groupon.com/deals/mother-lode-river-center-7-san-francisco). With an additional discount courtesy of groupon, we ended up paying [$58 +$9 river fee = $67] per person, which is really good! We ventured on the 11-mile Gorge (South Fork of the American River) rafting trip, which includes of mostly Class II rapids and a bit of Class III rapids. Check in is at 12pm,start time is at 1pm, and then the day ends by 5pm. Our group of 8 + our tour guide was perfect for one raft. I don't remember our tour guide's name but it's not because he wasn't awesome; it's just been 6 months since then. He is the dude with the dreads though! WIthin 3.5-4 hours, we rowed, cliff jumped, swam, cheered, and partied in the river. During one of the rapids, one of our friends completely fell out, but another friend managed to grab a hold of his foot. So crazy! If you want to get a visual of what you'll get to experience, check out the video I made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wO3c2jCIfM If you've never been white water rafting before, do yourself a favor and try it out! It's the best!!!

Easy sign up and option to pick up your packet on the day at $5 charge…read more $10 parking on the day. Bring cash!! This was taken over by Wipeout and was ROC Race. Bring on the Big Balls!! *Tip* You WILL get wet. Bring a change of clothes, towel and bag to put dirty / wet stuff in and don't forget to Go Pro it! **Update** Well that was one big let down. - Bib pick up on the day the lady I saw had no idea wehat she was doing. Where everybody else was picking their bib up in less than a minute mine took over 15. The lady had to call for help twice and said she didn't even know if she managed to assign my bib number to my name so I don't even know if when it comes to the pictures becoming public I will be able to find mine. Please train people and make sure they know what they are doing before the day. - Less obstacles since they took over from ROC Race. - Course was all over the place, we ran through the Parking lot, through closed Food stalls and Picnic area then the Water park. It felt like we were taking a tour of the parking lot for the most part. - Only 2 water stations. Simply not enough in the September heat with no clouds or shade. - Poor organisation at The Sweeper. We got to the obstacle and only 3 of the 4 entrances were open. We waited in line 20 minutes and with just 4 people ahead of us after all the waiting someone unfortunately got injured and they closed the entrance. Instead of opening the other closed one up we were told to join the BACK on of the other 2 lines where we waited another 20-25 minutes, only just as we were called to go through the obstacle they opened that other entrance. Seriously??! - Foam of Fury had no foam, just water. This was one of my favorite obstacles at last years ROC race but this just sucked. If you advertise something then make sure you actually have it. - Finish Line was kind of lame and I had to make sure it was actually the end of the course as aside from 2 small flags at the bottom of the last obstacle there was nothing going on... nothing! It would have been nice to have a photographer (like at last years) or a Water station.. something... anything. But no, we simply just made our way to the gate. I was a ''VIP'' registrant for this event which cost $65.71 after fees. This was with the ''VIP'' pre sale price and a discount code. Considering the price and that you also pay $10 for parking I feel like they could at least try and make the event a little better. After doing this 2 years running I doubt I will do it again.

I had to transfer my registration and miss last year's Ridiculous Obstacle Course (ROC) Race with…read moremy team from work due to bridesmaid duties out of town...so this year I was convinced to sign up for the WIPEOUTRUN reincarnation. Our team this year was much smaller, but still fun times. Packet pickup was easy, at the gates to Cal Expo where you got your race bib, shirt (cotton or tech), wristband, bag for sweat check, etc. They also had branded accessories/merch to complete your race-day outfit if you so desired, including a package that had a shirt, headband, and medal saying "I Conquered Wipeout Run!" (medal not available alone). Picked the earliest start time, 8:30am to tackle the course. The event was organized okay, I wish there were more official race photographers around the starting area with the Giant Red Ball backdrop. I would rate the obstacles overall as good. Not altogether lame, great, or awesome though. You do have to run a bit from the start until you reach any of the obstacles. First obstacle was "Sky's the Limit" which reminded me a little bit of Sky High Sports, super bouncy, tumbling and flips ensued. The next was the "Smash Wall" which provided two walls of varying heights to climb over. "The Drop" was climbing up steps then going down a big inflatable slide. The "Sweeper" was a challenge, where you run straight across to the other side while the big sweeping arm tries to knock you down, then there's a small slide. I did conquer that one! What did me in though, not-so-ironically, was the "Big Balls" obstacle (enclosed). Not sure if I chose the wrong foot to take off from the platform to jump, if I miscalculated how far away it was, or if the balls were fully inflated or what, but I stepped on the first ball then missed the second one. Putting my arms in front of me as I fell, I did a sort of "Superman" pose but landed right in between the two balls in a V, face-down. No bueno for my back. Halfway through the course too! I sat down for a few minutes but didn't feel the need for medic assistance, and was determined to continue. It hurt more to walk than to jog (also pulled something in my left thigh muscle) but I made it. The next obstacle was "Foam of Fury" which was a grown-up Slip 'N Slide essentially, with foamy bubbles and a big pool at the end. I didn't get a good enough running start so didn't actually slide all the way down to the pool. Lemme tell you, standing up on a wet inflatable surface is hard, I sorta had to crawl to the pool. The next obstacle was the cousin of the "Big Balls," the infamous "Wrecking Balls." This one required a life vest as the wrecking balls would knock you off the platform into a big pool -- at that point, I opted out of participating in this obstacle, instead stretching out while my team attempted it. The next obstacle was the "Tumble Tubes," where you ride an inner tube down a big slide (how many big slides so far?!). The final obstacle was the "Happy Endings" finish, another humongous slide to climb up to the top and slide down. There was plenty of room for spectators by each obstacle, would've liked more obstacle variety. Not too much backups at the obstacles. I was wary of Cal Expo as a venue since Electric Run last year felt very "spread out." Post-run I didn't notice any particular party with food provided, just the stands/vendors typically selling fair food near the sweat check. Music was plenty, competing DJs or something depending where you sat could hear up to 3 different songs blasting. My favorite part of the event was the feeling of conquering the Sweeper, but once the Big Balls defeated me that feeling didn't last long. I've done other themed/fun/obstacle runs (Warrior Dash, Color Run, Electric Run) and I consider those much better than WIPEOUT. Granted, I know I signed up knowing this course was inspired by the WIPEOUT TV show, and that the course is meant to attack you, but this was the first time I've almost injured myself at a race. This was supposed to be fun compared to my regular 5Ks, 10K, and half marathons! I did make it through with a smile on my face by the end, but man, I was so sore and in pain the following week. Required two deep tissue massages and I wasn't sure I was up for the 5K I had signed up for the weekend right after WIPEOUT (I did complete that though, and with a pretty fast time!). I'm not likely to sign up again for another WIPEOUT. If a friend asked me if I would recommend it, I would say that's up to personal preference. Mud and stable wooden obstacles, ropes, etc. are more my thing, otherwise solid ground under my feet. That unstable feeling of inflatable bounce-house type environs really threw me off (literally), and the slides and stuff felt too out of control for my liking.

This truly just isn't another ropes course or zip lining facility. They are focused on team building, problem solving, and having the best time while doing it all! We had 20 kids ranging in age from 8 - 10 and Mark our faciliator went above and beyond to make sure all the kids had a great experience. Wrangling 20 kids for four hours is a talent in and of itself, but to teach them life skills and problem solving techniques while participating in each challenge gave them a ALL STAR RATING in my book! We brought in pizza, snacks, and cookies for the birthday party and then Mark and Cannon took the kids after for four full hours of outdoor adventure. Even after our four hour window was done, Mark and Cannon said they would stay a little longer to help some of the kids climb higher on the ropes course. That is definitely going above and beyond! It's such a beautiful area and all the equipment is in great shape. They pay attention to all the safety guidelines and make sure everybody knows what the rules are before starting a new challenge. Safety is of utmost importance which as a Mom makes me so happy! Having 20 daredevils (boys) wanting to swing from every tree top, can make one very nervous! :) I would absolutely recommend Project Discovery to all my friends and family as well as co-workers. This is a great facility for birthday parties, team building, sports team building, or just having fun for an afternoon with your friends! We'll definitely be booking again in the future!

During the 90 minutes my rotation had for this course, I ended up doing 4 of the 6 available challenges: 1. Tight Rope: I basically climbed up a bunch of staples and walked across a rope that was 30 ft in the air. It was nerve wracking, but it helped to know I was secure and wasn't going to fall into anything. Tricky, but a pretty fun way to start off since you can hold onto a series of several ropes that are hanging above you along the way. 2. ZIPLINE: I think this is scary when you climb up to the platform, but after that this is by far the most relaxed and enjoyable experience. Once you push off, everything is secure, and all you can really do is savor the few moments in your life that you will spend feeling like a bird! Beautiful, beautiful view along the way :) 3. The Broken Bridge: This is a bunch of planks. You can hang on to the rope that secures you, but the point is kind of to not hold onto anything and to try and walk across this unsteady bridge stretched up about 15 ft above the ground. It was pretty fun, and I felt a lot better once I started taking a few steps on it to get used to the feeling. 4. Leap of Faith: This is the scariest, gutsiest part of the course, I think. You basically climb up a 30 ft pole, stand on the very end of it, and then jump off to try and catch a trapeze. I was really nervous about this one and it was the last one I did, but obviously, I lived to tell the tale, and I don't regret trying it out one bit. Ten-out-of-ten, would do it againnnn. The two I didn't do: 5. The Catwalk: You basically climb up and walk across a log without holding on to anything. Yes, you are still secured to a rope, haha. BUt the point is to balance and stretch your boundaries by walking across, doing jumping jacks, walking backwards--whatever you want. I didn't do this one, but a lot of my coworkers chose to walk backwards on it once they made it across the first time. 6. The Swings: This is literally a set of wooden plank swings attached to a log that you have to get across. It seemed physically intense. I didn't do this one, but a lot of people had fun with it and made it across either sitting on the planks or standing on them. As someone who is usually afraid of heights, I thought I was definitely NOT looking forward to this. The breakthrough that you reach while you go on this course, though, is its whole point. Lupe and Trinity, two of the main people running the course, are super friendly, and all of the staff are great about making you feel safe, encouraged, and welcome. Overall, the course was fantastic for helping my work team up its enthusiasm and unity during our mid-year slump, and it was nice that I ended up surprising myself (what?) with how I was able to settle my nerves and jump off of 30-foot high things with abandon....
