The Vallejo Waterfront Park has to be my favorite area in town. My siblings and I have so many great memories here we used to ride our bikes all around, fly our kites or even just walk our dogs along the water. There is always something to do and the sunsets here tend to be nice. There's always a great crowd and lively energy around, especially since the ferry stops right here and there's a bar and a nice restaurant nearby if you want to grab drinks or dinner. A very scenic waterfront park. A place in the greater bay area that I have not known at all until more recently. This is a beautiful part of the bay. It isn't very popular or well known and that might be good - if you want to come on a special holiday. San Francisco can be overrated sometimes and this wouldn't be so crowded. San leandro waterfront - the mayor seemed to give up on about 10 years ago. This still has some boats - and that adds to the mood even if you don't sail. A lot of people in my family like the water - I'm not really one of them - I like to look at the water but not necessarily be in it or on it - sailing or swimming. YOu wouldn't swim in this water anyway. I think its more of a cesspool in that respect. THe whole bay is. Its brown and probably has all sorts of stuff growing in it - only people who have looked through a microscope would know. When I was a kid 35 years ago the water was still decent looking. It was sort of blue - maybe with a tiny tint of green. Today it is brown as toilet water after some bad Taco Bell. Still, I enjoy looking at this Taco Bell water - I just don't want to be in it.... even if I am so to speak. So many of my friends moved to Texas and Vegas to get away from the cesspool. My friends with kids that is. The whole situation reminds me of my favorite Jingletown Oakland blog writer Sandra Tavel - she somehow lives in the filth but somehow is above it in her fancy condo. read more

Never mind the hot dog stand. Every Saturday there is a family out in front of the ferry entrance that sells amazing Caribbean food. The Jamaican jerk chicken was fire! Beans and rice along with cabbage to go with whatever protein you pick. My guy loved the curry! Family is trying to save up for their own food truck and I really hope they get it. But until then go down to the waterfront on Saturdays and get you a plate. Ain't nothing better than home cooking. read more

If you want to come to the waterfront for a stroll, run, bike, walk your dog, etc. one way is 1.5 miles from the end closest to mare island all the way to the end of the dock. There are plenty of different places to park to access the waterfront, there are many parking lots and street parking. There is plenty of room to ride your bikes but if you're with children on a nice sunny Saturday it can't be pretty busy. There are also plenty of different restaurants along the walk, from Sardine Can and Zio Fraedos closer to Mare Island. Then at the ferry station, there's The Mare Island Tap room, and Panama Bay coffee. It's a pretty safe area and lots of grass space for people to have picnics and hold workout classes or play team sports like football. Sometimes there are large outdoor events in the area. If you still play Pokémon go, this used to be a major Poke stop. The Vallejo Waterfront is definitely a nice place to see the sunset and a good place to get some fresh air, you'll also see people fishing every once in a while. read more

The waterfront had a little festival Saturday (Oct 6, 2018), it was nice. They had a lot of activities provided by the city of Vallejo, however the staff were kids; Providing little information of the programs. They weren't knowledgeable of the services they provided. For instance, they had a little corner with gymnastics gear for the to kids BUT they couldn't tell us the levels of the classes, times, location, amounts, etc. They gave us a flyer and told us all information is on there. Anyways, the gymnastics corner wasn't the only place that had a little hiccups. Overall, my child had a wonderful time speaking with firefighters, cops, sitting on the bus, face painting, Jump house, bubble ball, baby pumpkin patch and live entertainment. Side note food was awesome! Wait, when is food NOT good at festivals? Vendors: Mexican, filipino & American. They also had a vendor and everything was fried! Oreos, asparagus, artichoke hearts, onions, or onion rings. Those are the ones I can remember. Oh yeah, who can forget.... free admission!!! read more

Arguably the most peace place in Vallejo! The marina is large and sites nicely on the west side of the city and stretches up alongside it until you get the Mare Island bridge (walking from this starting point to the Carquinez bridge is approx 10 miles r/t). A very lively area with a Yatcht and rowing boat storage, a walking and biking trail, and close to the vallejo ferry terminal (which includes public transport info) and bus station. They even have a few good restaurants (seafood and a brewery) worth checking out. read more

This was my very first time visiting the Vallejo Waterfront since I have moved here two years ago. I told my wife that I needed to get out of the apartment and get some fresh air. We drove to the Vallejo water front and had a great time. I loved the water view! The trail is a great pace walk or jogging environment. I really enjoyed seeing the fishermen and women out with their lines out waiting for fish. This might be a good place to take my grandfather out sometime. Very pet friendly environment ! I loved seeing all the different dogs enjoying a good walk. Even though this location is placed in a pretty busy area, I was too surrounded by all the nature and scenery, to even notice any extra background noise. There were even some restaurants that I have never paid attention to that were seen on the trail. The best part of that walk, was just being able to experience relaxation, fresh air, friendly people and even great scenery. I will use this trail as a workout option. The waterfront is GREAT. read more

Beautiful waterfront area with lots to see and explore. The day we drove through they were having a Pirate festival. It looked so cool and festive, pirate people walking through the streets. We decided to come back and checkout the waterfront later that afternoon, after a day in Napa. There are a few restaurants around and we like to explore. After our trip, we came back and walked around, stopping at the brewery. I did not really know how nice the waterfront area is in Vallejo, but want to come back to check out the area again soon. read more

Very cool to walk or jog along with view of naval shipyard and ferry. Bicycle is another option. Plenty of parking. Two cafe inside the ferry building. Get a meal or a beer. Walk the dog. This is a quiet place to sit with a cup of coffee and just hang out with some reading. The area was clean. Just very tranquil. read more

This is a great place to run. If you run early in the morning all you'll see is the beauty God created, birds, other walkers and runners getting there exercise, boats on the water, a few cars on the road and people walking there dogs. As for safety, the area is pretty public and if your running your moving from place to place. Check the Vallejo events website to see what's going on the waterfront. I think Vallejo has a bad rep but our waterfront is beautiful. I think we have one of the best . Plenty of grass & it's well maintained . Many entry points for you to begin your walk . They have the new and improved ferry building plus outdoor seating so you can hang with your pup. Or sit inside & catch a cup of coffee and pastry while waiting for the ferry. They have the front room that has been there for years service is just ok, but food is good for lunch/dinner. If you walk all the way down passed the yacht club , all the way at the end you will find two more dining options Zio fredos and the sardine can . If I'm not here dis/embarking the ferry, I'm almost always here to go for a run, since it's a relatively safe area to do so. The length of the waterfront--about a mile (there is a mile marker painted into the ground, starting point by the bait shop)--makes it perfect for back and forth walks and short runs. For longer runs, I'll add in a few laps around the River Park marshland trail and will sometimes head into Mare Island for a bit of nostalgia and peace and quiet, as I nearly have the roads all to myself. I find that other runners are also more likely to greet you, as opposed to running in the City. The grassy area reminds me of the Marina Green, where families and friends picnic, kids play sports and roam free. It's also home base to local festivals throughout the year. read more

I usually go to the waterfront during the weekends to get my daily dose of vitamin D. I park near the coffee shop/visitor area because parking is free for about 2 or 3 hours. After I park, I walk towards the farmers market, which is about a 15 to 20 minute walk away from the parking lot. After I'm done buying groceries, I go back to the waterfront area and I walk around for about one or one in a half laps. I also take breaks in between, so that I can sit down and enjoy the scenery. During special events, it's also a great place to hang out as well due to the many food trucks, games and shops that are available. It's really one of the most treasured areas in Vallejo and it's a place that I recommend for both locals and visitors to check out. read more

Restrooms are in Ferry Terminal. Great place to take a stroll along the waterfront. You get to see the passing ferry, passing boats, even the occasional sea lion! Plenty of trees to rest under. A few benches here and there. Their are also huge anchor's for the kids to climb on. Bring the kites too, such the perfect place! We bought a kite earlier in the day and pulled it out again here! Riding my bike along the waterfront when the sun comes up is probably my best view of Mare Island. Truly the contrast of sunlight on the island's maritime history is beautiful! Four stars because if I ride the whole waterfront I get a flat tire...thanks to excess amount of thorns. There will always be room for continued improvement to the waterfront. As of now the waterfront offers spacious walking space for any type of "reactive dog" and even a big grassy area they can frolic on. Be conscious and pick up after your dog! Recently I watched the city put in new stationary trash cans...really sweet! Now, if we can some how work together for some thorn cleanup I'm all there every day! *early mornings have occasional homeless sleeping at the water* Nothing like the homeless of San Francisco, but good to let ya know it exists. read more

I love the waterfront park now, compared to what it used to look like and the vibes it used to give out. It's like a different city (area). Great to run, i believe the mile tracker readings are on the ground. Used to come here for a stroll or walk our dog. You rarely see the crowds that sit around get drunk and smoke anymore. which is great because i used to hate walking to my car alone with out someone coming to talk to me. Or just staring at you from the parking stall next to you. The bathrooms are usually pretty decent inside the Ferry Ticket Terminal. the area is great and convenient when they have events going on. read more

This is a beautiful park with tons of activities, amenities and restaurants in the area for whatever kind of outing you want. My partner and I come here often to walk and enjoy the waterfront, as well as get a cup of coffee in the ferry terminal. The paved footpath runs the length of the waterfront, and has mile markers if you want to track your distance! Enjoy a leisurely stroll or a run. We often also see cyclists and rollerbladers because the path is so wide and even. If you like fishing, this place seems to be good, too! I've never fished here, but there are always people lined up at the water's edge with poles, and there are signs indicating with photos which fish are safe to eat. There are two bathrooms, one in the ferry terminal and one by the anchor park, as well as water fountains at both. There are also multiple restaurants and a great brewery with views of the water. In all, you can spend a really nice morning/afternoon/evening visiting the waterfront! read more

For a nice walk, run or both with friends, your pet its ok. I suggest going when its still day light do to the fact that around 5pm all the ghetto kids come out and hollar at you when your running. And are loud and obnoxious. Its really kinda lame. And if you want a short run this is your place! It only really goes a mile on way so unless you like to run back and forth a lot to get a good distant run its only really good for short runs. read more

This is a great place to go for a walk,jog,run or bicycling! There an open field to fly a kite or kick or throw a ball. A local martial arts club works out here on the grass. The are a few restaurants out such as The Waterfront which has great Bloody Mary's a coffee shop and a brewery in the ferry building. The ferry ride to San Francisco is a nice way to get there. There is just one pet pea I have dog walkers! Please pick up your dogs poop! Substitute with the S word cause that's what I'm thinking. It's clearly posted! Really great place to take in the sun on a really nice day! I started coming out here back in o7' when I got into running, I train for races like Bay to Breakers here. The only drawback is having to watch for dog poop! There's always a nice breeze coming in from the S.F. Bay. Other walkers, cyclist and runners seem to keep to their selves besides an occasional hello or good morning. A really nice coffee shop named Panama Red, the Frontroom and the Sardine Can restaurants can be found here, Sardine Can has live jazz on Sundays. Fish launch your boat or catch the ferry to S.F. From here. All in all the Vallejo waterfront is a cool laid-back place to frequent. read more

The boat ramps are where all of the drugs dealers pass their produt to their addicts. Time after time I see drug deals going on here. The piers are in pretty ragged shape. Screws popping out, weathered boards, and at low tide don't even think of using them since the amount of silt is so high you will get your boat stuck. Broken glass all over the place. The restrooms are locked to keep the vagrants out, so you commonly see people pissing everywhere. This place is like the rest of vallejo. Run down and dangerous. read more

It's nice to know the VPD patrols this area often because security is a joke. Many homeless people harnessing patrons and parking in the lot is always a gamble. Please hide and secure your items before you leave your vehicle. Parking has been more full than ever so come early. read more

Nice place to go for a jog or take a walk with your dog. If you do take your dog with you, the park provides doggie bags every so often to encourage you to pick up their poop. There are restaurants along side the waterfront as well. read more

I love this park and specially this area of Vallejo. Thanks to the City of Vallejo for keeping it clean and safe for all who take walks there or jog. A decent waterfront to walk the dog. He cries of joy as we pull up and he is super gung ho to get his walk on (more like his leg lifting on). The waterfront is pleasant and you can run into other dog lover's, fishermen and lovey dovey couples. Thankfully this is still a safe place to enjoy fresh air and a nice water views. read more

Vallejo's waterfront is pretty decent. It's great for a jog, a walk with the dog or kids, or flying a kite in the grass area. There's a restaurant, and bar & grill near the ferry building. A brew house and coffee shop as well. There's fishing along the waterfront. The only bad thing is the homeless sleeping or drinking in the grass, and along the waterfront. I love watching the boats row by and having the option to take the ferry to San Francisco. This is a great place to practice my chi-running. One mile from the boat launch on the south side to the marina on the north side. With my focus on my running techniques I don't notice the occasional stoners, drinkers, and cigarette smokers much; they seemingly leave those that are exercising alone. Besides, there are more families, couples, and exercisers than the former. I'm glad this place is here in Vallejo; it's feels like a safe place to run. read more
