However, on a recent trip I discovered something a bit disturbing and honestly confusing. I was with a group of colleagues, and three of us have Alpha Gal (red meat allergy caused by the lone star tick). Thankfully I desensitized myself enough that I can eat SOME red meat. The other two are highly sensitive. I ordered the wings again and passed them around to share. One of my AG friends ate one and the other asked the waitress if there is cross contamination. We were informed that the wings are fried in BEEF tallow. I panicked because the one friend is so sensitive that she can't even go to a petting zoo with hoofed mammals without reacting. So lucky that she had taken an Allegra that day which helps with the allergy enough that one wing fried with beef fat won't cause anaphylaxis. However, if the other girl had eaten it, she very likely could have had a terrible reaction. It does not state on the menu that the wings are fried in beef tallow. It's very important that allergens such as this are noted. I would never have thought myself that it was fried in beef fat. I would've thought it was vegetable or peanut oil. I would hope that this restaurant will add red meat allergens to their menu as Alpha Gal is becoming more and more common. Better yet, don't use beef products to cook chicken products.

We started with generous portions of the poke nachos and gator bites. The nachos were a wonderful mix of tuna and avocado on crispy, thin wonton chips. The gator bites were well cooked and came with a delicious remoulade. Next we enjoyed the blackened fish tacos and donkey on crack. The tacos were the star here and we'll return to get more! Donkey on crack is amazing and rich, good for sharing. We finished with a yummy bread pudding and excellent key lime pie, the crust and bite were perfection. This was all served to us by the lovely Gia, who encouraged us to write a review. We said Chuck's won restaurant week for us! Make sure to note their partner restaurants, the logos are on the chopsticks wrapper... We'll be back, Chuck!

We shared their mixed nigiri and sashimi dish with rice, which was fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. We also tried a breaded white fish entrée served over a bed of asparagus, and it was excellent -- crispy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. Nicole enjoyed a local IPA, and we kept the rounds of water flowing. The restaurant is a few blocks from the Capital on the subdivision of an office park. It's very nice inside. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the service made the experience even better. Chuck's Fish is absolutely worth a stop if you're looking for great seafood and warm hospitality.

R&R at Hotel Indigo in Tallahassee, FL…read more Stayed a couple nights at Hotel Indigo on a work trip and naturally ended up at R&R more than once because: location, location, location. Easy access plus a bar meant repeat visits. Let's start with the GOODS the drinks! I stopped in to the bar multiple times and the cocktails are where they shined for me. Ryan the bartender - WOW next level. Superb! Knows his stuff, and made every drink a hit for me. My top pick? The Juju, hands down my favorite. But I also got a sneak peek of a new drink coming to their seasonal menu called the Lily Pad, and OMG mmmmmm. So good. Bright, refreshing, well-balanced. Totally check out my photos for that one. Now... about breakfast. It's a No for me. Enough. I had the Nashville Honey Chicken Biscuits and they are a FAIL, a No. Dry, sad, biscuits with fried frozen chicken nugget in it and not worth $16. It's an embarrassment to the establishment. The Cortado, also a miss!... but it was coffee and I needed to get going to work. R&R, please rethink breakfast: 100% did not meet the price point. Skip breakfast or walk across the street, there's a bagel shop. The hotel indigo is really cute and I'll probably write a review about that on a separate, the place is overall cute, but there's very limited food places around the hotel. So in conclusion, I will give you an extra star for the convenience and the bar. After my experience for breakfast, I did not care to come here for food at all anymore. Expensive cheap food. Just because they're helped by a great bar and a beautiful hotel and a great location..
