I can't say enough about the Bay Side fencing team! Jose came out and took measurements and gave me a bid that was better than all others because they used the Con Heart wood material where all others used Con Common, and would have charged even more to upgrade (it with Bay Side's bid) We had 152 ft with a slope on the shared fence side and 73 ft at the top. Jorge and his team came in removed the old fence and had it all installed in two days, which is remarkable because our ground is hard and full of rocks and the slope was very steep! Our fence was very old but still good. However, this one section was just too bad to keep propping up. Got a few bids and Bay Side Fencing sent Jose out. He did a great job explaining the situation, showing me what he would do. Before he left, he somehow managed to get me a very professional quote. Having some bids prior, he was inline with the rest. Told him let's do it! And his crew showed up 15 minutes early, got to work without me interjecting and finished and cleaned up. Very good experience. Very communicative. I had high hopes to use this company based on their yelp page. Estimator Jose Ortega came for a medium fence job but appeared disinterested and annoyed. Never got the quote. I had to email the office to get the quote. The quote arrived, the drawing was difficult to understand, and was missing parts we discussed. I'm faced with having to call them back to re-do the quote. My wife and I spent months developing ideas for custom wood and steel gates, with steel posts, until we finally came up with something we liked. We solicited bids from two highly rated companies for: 1) a double gate that was a rather complicated project, as one post would impact a wooden retaining wall; and 2) a pedestrian gate and fence section that had to match the appearance of the double gate. The company we didn't hire was prompt in their bid (faster than Bay SIde Fencing). Their proposal looked good and was a little cheaper than Bay Side. The unsuccessful bidder also seemed like an excellent company, and we were very impressed with their representative as well.  So why Bay Side? While the other company proposed a 3"x3" steel post for the double gate (set in 24 inches of concrete) and regular fence boards, the Bay Side project manager proposed 5"x5" steel posts (in 36 inches of concrete, which seemed substantially stronger to us) and tongue-and-groove (rather than regular fence boards) which is both better looking and provides more privacy. We went with Bay Side and never looked back.  The Bay Side crew was very experienced and worked as a well-coordinated team. They executed our custom design to perfection. Their work was absolutely beautiful and very sturdy. In fact, when I saw the Quikrete being delivered on a flatbed truck, there was such a large amount, I assumed that our project was one stop of many for the flatbed. Nope. All the material was for our project. I counted over 1,000 pounds of Quikrete that went into five posts to support the pedestrian gate and fence section. I don't even know how much they used for the double gate.  A few hiccups occurred during the project that Bay Side fencing immediately resolved to our satisfaction. One such hiccup occured after we had already paid for the project in full; they still immediately resolved it to our complete satisfaction. Bay Side Fencing is highly ethical, their is crew highly competent, and their work is simply outstanding. My wife and I are very happy with how the project turned out. Their execution of our design exceeded our expectations, and the gates and fences look even better than we envisioned them. read more

They were the highest bid by $40 from the second closest high bid. Two others came in $500 cheaper. I went with Bay Side because of their estimators professionalism. His clean work estimators truck, again showing professionalism for the company. And his honesty. Basically he said I'm not the cheapest. So their crew on the install day showed up on time. Readdressing the quote to make sure their install job was in line with what I excepted. They went to work and destroyed and cleaned up my 35yr old destroyed fence and then prepared for the new install. Once again coming to me to determine what I excepted, Half way through the job, a supervisor came in to talk to me to see if I was pleased with the install and that I was receiving all that I expected. YES... Later, my appraiser showed up just to check that everything was going OK. Bottom line, they did Everything they promised. The fence looks awesome and is so secure for our Pittsburg Hills winds. As I mentioned, they were $40 higher but every bid came in with 24" set 4x4 posts where Bay Side was the only company that took into our consideration with high winds off our hillside to place the posts "36" deep. Had to come back and update my previous review with more of the same praise - I had some minor issues with the fence that they installed that needed repairs and they absolutely stood by their guarantee and warranty and came out and fixed everything and MORE (including one item that was out of warranty - they did it out of the kindness of their hearts). This company is truly outstanding. I have used so many contractors in the past and nobody has been as responsive and gone out of their way to back up their work as Bay Side Fencing has done. Worst experience. I have had 3 other fences fixed in last 10 yrs. They left so much dirt and debris in my backyard, that I had to pay extra $400 to get it cleaned. The price I was quoted was not the absolute lowest, but I did feel it was reasonable. And I doubt I would have gotten such quality. These guys were great. They came out right away to talk to us about our fencing project. They were upfront with us about challenges with our project (we have really large backyard with existing fencing we wanted removed or covered). We had a few corrections at the very end of the job that we should have mentioned sooner, so with an attitude of "we aren't done until you're happy," he sent his guys back and fixed our issue. Bay Side Fencing installed a few helper/sister fence posts that had weakend and become semi loose, so that the fence shook in strong winds. They did a great job and the employees were courteous and professional. The only issue I have with the company is that they don't have any way to pick up and remove any debris left over from their work. In my case, I had quite a bit of concrete and wood pieces that were left strewn in my yard, although they did ask me what part of the yard could be used to leave the debris. So now I have to call and pay someone to come and pick up the waste. This is the only drawback, everything else was good. read more
