He helped my husband make treatment decisions and was thorough in explaining what to expect day of, and following up. In addition, all of the staff in the facility were prompt, professional, and caring. We were so pleased with the service he received, so when I developed an issue with my hands and my PCO suggested seeing an orthopedic specialist, I called this practice. They were able to access my x-rays directly from RIMI, which I appreciated (no one wants to have to repeat tests). I saw a Fellow, who came in first to examine my hands and diagnose the problem (trigger finger - in both hands - that was causing pain, swelling, and lack of movement). Dr. Gil came in, confirmed the diagnosis - and let me know the treatment (steroid shot), and next line treatment (minor surgical procedure) if the steroid didn't cure the problem. He administered the shots in the exam room that day, letting me know that it might take a few days for reaction to be fully noticeable. Throughout my treatment too, the staff were helpful and offered great service. The Kettle Point facility is brand new, very clean, and a welcoming place to receive service. I'm mystified by the low ratings from others!

Her empathy and customer service were a solid 5/5 stars.Unfortunately, the medical care from the actual providers was deeply disappointing. I came in with an acute sports injury after hearing a physical "pop" in my foot, experiencing swelling on the top of my foot, and dealing with severe nerve pain. They took X-rays but didn't bother to sit down, look at them with me, or properly explain a clear diagnosis. Instead, they completely dismissed a severe structural injury as basic plantar fasciitis, handed me some topical gel, and sent me on my way.To make matters worse, they told me it was "normal to work under these conditions"--completely ignoring the fact that my daily job requires heavy pulling, pushing, and lifting of heavy objects. Because they refused to give me an immobilization boot or take the soft-tissue damage seriously, I have spent days favoring my left leg. I have now developed agonizing sciatica from straining my back just trying to hobble around.Kristen White deserves a promotion for her outstanding humanity and professionalism, but the medical providers seriously need to re-evaluate how they dismiss patients with acute traumatic injuries.

Hip Still Not Right - Need a Hip Replacement Revision…read more I had an anterior hip replacement with Dr. Andrew Porter. I am 56 years old and average weight. I had arthritis in my hip joints, thanks to genetics, and needed my hip replaced. Surgery with Dr. Porter went as planned, so I thought... Shortly after surgery, I noticed something was off. I had had my other hip replaced 7 years ago, so I was familiar with the recovery process. Unfortunately, my hip was painfully popping out of the socket and back in. I kept going to Dr. Porter telling him something wasn't right. Dr. Porter said I needed to continue with physical therapy, which I did. It is still no better after 5 months of therapy, and my range of motion is very limited. Dr. Porter told me a revision would also limit my range of motion and be more invasive than the first surgery. He basically tried to talk me out of fixing my hip. I can't live like this. I can't even walk properly. Needless to say. I never went back. Do not let the pain rush you into surgery. I should have waited for a more experienced surgeon.

I fell from a horse about 5 years ago on my shoulder and messed it up while rowing on the crew team in high school. I had MRIs done at Yale New Haven Hospital (I'm originally from CT) stating that I had a few things wrong with it (the specifics I'm not entirely sure of). I decided to give this place a chance because they were local and the doctors listed on their website have a lot of experience. First of all, this place has barely any lights inside. It's like walking into a cave! The ladies at the front desk were very polite, however. Then I was taken in to see Dr. Green - easily the most unprofessional doctor I've met in my life. He came into the room without saying a word or introducing himself and shoved his hand in my face looking for a handshake. Then he asked me what was wrong and had me do a series of tests for range of motion and strength. I told him most of them hurt. I gave him the DVD of the MRIs I had and he spent 5 minutes looking at them silently. He said he didn't see anything wrong with my shoulder and asked if I had done physical therapy before, to which I replied yes - and that it had done nothing but make my shoulder hurt more. He told me to go to physical therapy for a month and then come back, wrote something on a piece of paper to give to the girls at the front desk and walked out without saying anything. I decided to go to another doctor for a second opinion. Dr. Green and his practice aren't getting another DIME of my insurance money. Long story short - if you like going to rude doctors who work out of dingy offices, this is the place for you.

I have had multiple visits to Ortho RI for a number of different orthopedic issues related to…read moreosteoarthritis. I find many (not all) of their doctors and therapists to be competent, but they appear to be pushed to see an over abundance of patients in an unreasonable amount of time. Further, when doctors are away, they do not have another doctor to cover for them, and hence, rely solely on PAs...who frequently cannot help. After a recent surgery, I experienced an issue that required being seen by the doc, but he was away for 3 weeks, and the PAs were not able to provide the necessary care. Hence, I was forced to wait out that time until the doctor returned. That is simply not good patient care! Other medical issues were exacerbated during that wait. Further, I had no guidance from the team as to whether I should or should not continue PT...which generated a risk of further injury. Shame on the administrators that do not make sure that proper care is in place, and you, as a practice, "do no harm." Believe me, this is just the tip of the iceberg with regards to what I've dealt with with Ortho RI.

I contrasted this with my husband's experience with Care NE Orthopedics and I can tell you I will never go back here. First, the patient portal is useless. I have tried twice to send messages and I get a 10 day old out of office messages from a PA I never heard of. I needed a refill on a prescription so I called and spoke to a member of my doctor 's staff who said she would sent the request to the doctor. it's been 3 days and no one has contacted me nor sent the prescription to the doctor. In contrast, Care NE has been super responsive and their portal is extremely easy to use. I would caution anyone to refuse a referral to this place and request a different referral.

We've spent our fair share of time on floor two of the 2 Dudley Street building so this review is to provide information about our experience on floor two only - as we have not had to visit any of the other floors for our particular needs. Floor two is VERY busy at every moment of the day and it can be an overwhelming first visit. Here's what you can expect. When you step off the elevators, you will need to line up to the right behind the "wait here to be called" sign in the lobby. From here, one of the receptionists will call you over, check you in for your appointment, take payment, and direct you to which waiting area you should go to (they have three - A, B, and C) DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS DESK WITHOUT GETTING YOUR PARKING GARAGE VOUCHER for the Dudley Street garage - it costs $2 for a flat rate "chaser ticket" (which is a huge savings) and is payable in exact cash only. After checking in with the receptionist at the desk in your assigned waiting room, they will send you to a tech who will remove your cast before sending you to the X-ray desk. You will need to check in here too and hand them the paperwork provided by the person who removed your cast. Both the X-ray techs and the cast techs are friendly and explain exactly what they will be doing before they do any work. They introduce themselves and explain to the kids what noises they may hear and even demonstrated that the saw used to cut the cast will not cut your skin (how does it know the difference? so neat!) You will then be asked to return to the waiting area you were in previously and will wait to see the doctor. Usually this takes just a couple of minutes while they wait for the X-rays to become available. The visits are straightforward and depending on your progress you may or may not have to have the area recast. Casting options are limitless and they have a variety of materials, colors, and enhancements (like glitter) they can add to personalize it for you. If you'd like a waterproof option, tell them ahead of time so they can prepare that for you (the only color option for that is plain white). You will pay out of pocket for the "upgrade" as many insurance plans won't cover the additional expense but it may be worth your while depending on the time of year and length you'll need to wear your cast. You may also choose to buy a sling or other cast aid directly from online or local pharmacy, as many times insurance plans will bill OUTRAGEOUS prices if they have already provided one at a previous visit and you find yourself in need of a replacement.
