I was in Miami for a conference and got a tooth ache. By the third day I couldn't stand it any more despite my over the counter attempts to control the pain. I called and the office staff was very professional. They talked with Dr Weiner and got me in that afternoon. When I went in, Dr Weiner was great. He saw me and assessed the situation which looked ok on X-ray but he used a camera and found a crack in the tooth. He tried to get me in to see a specialist. Since he couldn't get the referral done (specialist wasn't available), he had Dr Saltz do a partial root canal and temporary filling then emailed me the X-rays and pictures to make sure I had them to take back to my Dentist. Great service and great work by everyone in this office. I highly recommend this dental practice. They are top notch! read more

Working in Miami I found this dentist and went in on a Tuesday to get a consolation and xrays done. Unfortunately I could only come in on Sundays from that point on cause I work on cruise ships. Sadly they're closed on Sundays, as if everything is in downtown. Understandably so! So I had to find another dentist open on Sundays. As I was discussing this with the front desk, the ladies were very polite and said they'd email the xrays rights away so I can present them to the next doctor. I had no insurance and was paying out of pocket, so this was very helpful to save on costs. After giving my email and going about looking for a new dentist, a week had passed and no xrays. They sent a follow up email "thanking" me for coming in and I responded asking for the xrays promised; no reply. I must have written an email another 2 times and still to this days (years later) never once received my xrays, let alone a simple reply. If you can't rely on a company to communicate with a client, I sure as hell wouldn't trust them with my health. read more

Two stars for "Meh. I've experienced better" My experience Setting the Appointment: My local orthodontist recommeded a different dentist, however since they were not "in-network" with my insurance company, I called around to different places in Miami to find one that was so that I could get a standard cleaning 100% covered by my insurance (aka completely free). I specifically asked the receptionist this, and she assured me they were in-network with my insurance company (ends up they are out-of-network and just wave the co-pay but still I had to pay a $50 deductible... not sure if she lied or if she is just incompetent... I literally only came here because she told me it was in-network). That's not even the end of it... First Attempt: 11:30 am: an example of the staff's brilliance- the tech administering my x-rays sees my smile and says "oh you still have baby teeth." I reply to her "no these are called peg laterals"... (yes, I just explained what peg laterals are to my dentist's technician). Next she says to me "When are you going to get a cleaning?" ... (yes, I came here for the sole purpose of getting my teeth cleaned) I reply "I am here today to get a cleaning. That is why I scheduled an appointment" at which point without explanation, she leaves. Now I am sitting in my chair watching CNN with no idea what is going on. (Wasting precious time, I need to get back to work). She reappears, I ask her "Could you please explain to me what is going on. I thought I was getting my teeth cleaned?" Then the Dentist appears apologizing and explaining that one of the dental hygenists called off work last minute due to a medical emergancy and they could not provide me with a cleaning. To add to the good news, I am informed that the dentist is actually "out-of-network" but he waves the co-pay as a courtesy. (Oh well its still free right...) At this point he tells me I can come back later that day at 4 pm. So I leave without my teeth cleaned. [Suggestion: At least, let me know the situation when I first walk in so I can re-schedule right away and save myself 45 min of wasted time.] 2:15 pm: While on a call with a client, I get 3 phone calls in a row from the same number; on the 3rd call they leave a message. [Suggestion: Call once and leave a message. This is standard business edicate. Unless it is a life or death emergancy don't call my phone 3 times in a row] I listen to the message; it is the receptionist asking me if I can "come in right now" because they had availability and the hygenist doesn't want to stay "late" (4 pm)... (I can't drop everything and come in right away... I have one of those things called a JOB!!!) I re-schedule for the next Tuesday, which actually worked better for my schedule. (So whatever) Second Attempt: 1:45 pm: I arrive to my appointment, I am promptly taken back to the chair where a hygenist is ready to perform my cleaning. Hallelujah!!!! Cleaning proceeds and is finished. I am not provided with a mirror to allow me to see if I am happy with the cleaning (which is standard procedure at every dental office I have been too), so I asked for a mirror to check that all the stain was removed. Begrudingly, I am given a mirror, and there is still quite a bit of stain on two of my lower incisors. I point out the stain one of the teeth and ask if she could please remove it. The hygenist then tells me that it is not stain, but rather it is the cementum showing. At which point I tell her that every other dentist I have ever gone to has always been able to remove the stain from that portion of my tooth. So she huffs, "I guess you know more than me, with my 27 years of experience, huh" (very professional). Then (big surprise) she is able to remove the stain once she actually tries. I then try to point out the second incisor that she missed, at which point she says she can't see the stain and then pricks my gum so it begins to bleed, and then kicks me out of her chair and tells me the dentist will have to look at it (again very professional). He is flustered, but tries to deal with the situation. I tell him the stain is along by gumline. He "can't see it either" and then pricks my gum again and it begins to bleed... AGAIN. At which point I give up. I tell him I am done. He apologizes and says they really are "perfectionists" and offers to not charge me. I reply, its fine my insurance covers it (I just wanted to leave). I then proceed to check-out, at which time I am told I owe a $50 deductible because they are "out-of-network." (So no co-pay, but they still stick me with the deductible right after I tell the dentist "my insurance will cover it" Glorious). Either the receptionist I set the appointment with is incompetent or she lied to me, either way I walked out with my teeth partially cleaned after two appointments and had to pay $50 for it. Awesome. Only positive: The dentist is nice and seems competent, but he is surrounded by an unprofessional, mediocre staff read more

I had a bad experience trying to make an appointment at this dentist office. I called the doctors Weiner office to make an appoint today, March 5th 2014. i tried to call several times and someone, I guess his secretary, was extremely rude and arrogant! Her name was JENNIFER. I am a new patient, trying to book an appointment for check up-$125, cleaning$125 and whitening$545, according to her. I have no insurance to cover it all so I would be paying for it all myself. She turned me off by being so rude and dismissed. I can not believe how doctors allow themselves to be involved with a such lack of professionalism and respect in the office. I am sure and I believe the doctor is good but unfortunately the way his office runs is not good and kept me away to be his patient. My husband went to the same college as Dr Weiner and he was very shocked while listening on the speakerphone how his secretary was handling a future patient. We complaint to her and she said she doesn't care! Very frustrating. Well, I know there are many dentists out there and I am sure there must be some really good ones as I thought Dr Weiner would be, so I will have to find someone else and forget this shocking and unfortunately experience with a doctors secretary. II hope Dr Weiner will read this and as a person who comes from a family doctor, I strongly recommend him address this issue with his secretary and find someone who likes to work, more respectful and professional, so he can better assist his patients and build a better reputation giving his future patients a respectful phone call appointment.. Nothing in Miami works as it should. You know this. But Dr. Weiner and Bayfront Dental are the exception. They are reliable, professional, and excellent. You don't wait forever. They call you in on time. Nothing weird happens. They clean and fix your teeth using the newest techniques and the most efficient means. They get the billing and insurance right the first time. Dr. Weiner is nice and personable and fast. And they even have easy parking. It's like a little piece of normalcy in the madness of Miami. I can't recommend them highly enough. I hate going to the dentist, and so a dentist has to be pretty frigging good for me to recommend him. Honestly, before I discovered Bayfront there were times when I thought about just letting my teeth rot out of my head so I wouldn't have to find a dentist in Miami. 1. Respect your clients' time! probably we schedule the appointments on certain time for a reason! I do understand when once in a while a doc. is late 10-20min., but not all the time and always an hour or more... I always booked a very first appointment of the day for a reason to avoid doc. running late from previous appointments but even that didn't work - every time had to wait at least a hour... 2. at the same time doc. is working on two different clients (???): one minute he's talking/working with you, the other minute he's running to other room to finish work on other client, then comes to check on you and a minute after he's already in other room consisting a new client...- not surprise that after such jumping from one client to on other one he doesn't remember what he was talking to you or what he was doing... 3. the goal of my visits didn't required a big magic from the doc. - to change old crown and old filling, but even that was too challenging to doc. Weiner: while changing the filling (posterior surface of front tooth) the doc. put the filling all over my front teeth. after he finished working I told him I can feel that some filling lumps still left on the anterior surfaces of my teeth but since he couldn't see it he left everything as is... so now my front teeth feels like a sandpaper. the filling by itself instead of mimic the real surface of my tooth feels just like a big bump coming out of the back of my tooth. on top of that the doc. picked wrong color (too dark) of the filling so now the new filling even looks worse than the old one - it looks like a dark cavity in the tooth. to change the old permanent crown (also front tooth) the doc. decided that first I have to get the temporary crown (because I cannot wear my old discolorated crown 2 more weeks (untill the new permanent will be done) - of course than he can charge me extra for temporary crown. to pick the crown color he sent me to the lab because as he explain " he is not good on that..."(??????).when trying to put the crown on the the tooth he dropped the crown on the floor and instead of disinfecting it he just made a comment-joke that if I'm gonna mess with him he gonna loose my tooth... after couple unsuccessful trials to put the crown correctly he comment "that he doesn't know how to put the crown on and his assistant is usually better on that" (?????). the final result of new permanent crown gently shocked me - the crown shape completely doesn't mimic the real tooth shape, the crown is way narrower then my old crown (which completely match my real tooth) and is way narrower compare with all my other teeth -it looks like i'm having someone's else tooth in my mouth. and because of such small crown spaces between the teeth next to the crown is way bigger compare with other. 4. for the more surprises - couple weeks after my last visit I got the bill for the filling (ONE TOOTH filling) - 600$ (??????) the filling must be made of gold???? Dear Lisa, theoretically everyone expects to provide excellent standard of service but in reality not always the work results meet the expectations. and it's hard to expect the excellence of care when a doctor works with couple clients at the same time (obviously for a reason to make more money but not to provide excellent and highest quality of service). and such little things like "providing your contacts after asking your client to call you" would help to get closer to excellent standard. read more

I went in for a couple fillings and a cleaning on Thursday. I'm new to Miami so I didn't know what to expect but my friend referred me to dr Weiner. It was super clean and everyone was so mice. I'm usually very nervous at the dentist but everyone made me feel very comfortable. The hygienist Ivette gave me an amazing cleaning. She was very gentle and even went over showing me the correct ways to brush and floss. Dr Weiner could tell I was nervous so he was very careful to make sure I comfortable. He and his staff were so helpful and compassionate to me it eased my nerves being in a different state (from Massachusetts) and seeing a new dentist. I am so happy that I found Dr. Weiner! My teeth had been hurting for over a month when I broke down and bought a groupon to see a different dentist in Miami. Big mistake! When I told his office that I was in pain, they had no reaction. I had to wait a week to get an appointment, only to find that the doctor could not see me that day. One of the assistants in his office thought that my pain might be related to my wisdom teeth, so I came in again the following week to finally see the doctor and an oral surgeon. Neither seemed to really care that I'd been hurting for some time. They recommended I remove my wisdom teeth, but I wasn't convinced that that was the problem. I told them that I thought I had a cavity because I felt a big hole in my tooth and they laughed at me, dismissing it as the natural shape of my tooth. That is how I found Dr. Weiner. I went to his office for a second opinion, and his will be the only opinion that I'll need in the future! When his receptionist heard that I was in pain, she fit me in to see him that day. I did not have to wait in the lobby to see him. His office is professional looking with modern equipment. His staff was very friendly and professional. Most importantly, Dr. Weiner took my concerns seriously and treated me with respect. He listened as I explained my symptoms and was determined to figure out what had been causing me pain. Lo and behold, I did indeed have a cavity in the tooth with the giant hole. It was so bad that I needed a root canal. I don't have dental insurance, so had I listened to the other doctor, I would have spent well over a thousand dollars having my wisdom teeth removed only to still be in pain and in need of a root canal! I'm SOO thankful for Dr. Weiner's honesty, integrity, and dedication to serving his clients. He was shocked by my previous experience and that they could miss something so obvious as a root canal. Less than a week later, I saw the wonderful specialist that he referred me to for my root canal and am so relieved to have this off of my plate. I can't recommend Dr. Weiner highly enough! read more
