Bayfront became a privately owned, boutique hotel after Comfort Inn left. Rooms were remodeled and decor touched up, so it is much improved. Room rates were the most reasonable to be found during this high season.month of March '12. There is a small pool that is protected from the wind, but is within a tiny, unattractive concrete-walled courtyard. The bar is known to attract regulars who can get loud, but it is situated on a verandah that overlooks a pretty marina and the Bayfront shopping and condo complex. Ask for the waterside rooms. There is no surcharge, but the rooms facing the water are really lovely because they open to the rising sun over the Gordon River and marina. We learned that the Event Manager is left to her own disorganized devices on everything from catering to room reservations. Be aware that if you are stuck with this sour, one woman show for an event at Bayfront, be sure to back check each detail. Just sayin' read more

Hotel was good for the price. I wasn't over enthused or disappointed. It is in a great location but doesn't have many "frills" of a newer hotel. There is a pool but it's small and a nice bar/restaurant. If you want to save money but still be close to 5th ave then I would recommend trying this hotel. read more

Fantastic hotel in Naples. Conveniently located several blocks away from the shops & restaurants & beach. The beds are so fluffy & comfortable. The bathrooms are modern. This is the second time that my other half and I have spent a weekend there. They have a Make a Memory package that is very affordable and includes a sunset cruise and breakfast. The staff is friendly, the rooms are very nice and clean, and it is only a short walk to 5th ave restaurants. They have a shuttle that will take you to the beach and they supply you with towels, chairs, and beach umbrellas. Thats pretty cool. Once there, just tell them at what time you want to be picked up and they are there - on time! Margi, the concierge, was very friendly and the one that drove us to the beach. Their buffet breakfast is pretty complete, even offering waffles upon request. Wifi is FREE! That is always great! I would have given this hotel 5 stars if it weren't for the following: Their Make a Memory package has gone down considerably in terms of what they offer. Every year it is less and less. Last year they gave you a $50 credit that you could use towards anything, this year they only gave us 2 buffet breakfast which is valued at $24. Nice, clean and friendly. Only draw back is the parking situation. Went out one night, came back around 11-12am at night and we got lucky there was a open spot in the corner. I should also mentioned that we should've just walked to the restaurants. If you don't mind a quarter mile walk the hotel is in the vicinity of the main action. I guess it was a mixture of laziness and not knowing. The hotel itself is really nice the rooms, outside pool and bar area are clean. Solid place to stay - can be a little cramped, but clean and reliable. Much, much better than the Inn on Fifth whose prices are unreasonable for tired rooms with dirty beds. Bayfront has a decent bar and restaurant overlooking the bay next to a cute shopping area. Easy walk to 5th Avenue and the beach. Take the sunset cruise from the pier across the street if you have the time. Get the upgrade - this place is so reasonable and has a nice pool too. read more

Booked via kayak so got a very good price here. It was clean and housekeeping were awesome. Our room was lovely and we got a bay view even though I didn't book It which was a bonus. The shower was really nice and hot. The hotel was convenient to 5th ave whilst not being in the thick of it. Only visited the pool once because with 3 kids there was a weird older vibe that made us uncomfortable . Didn't eat at the restaurant as there was so many other great options in and around naples. Wow - I have given this place 3 try's while on vacation 2 years in a row and had to nearly holler to get someone's attention to serve us each time on the patio - last time waited for 10mins to have a server even look our way just to get their attention while they chatted away with another table - such a shame for this great location. I spent just one night at the Bayfront Inn on Fifth while tagging along on my husbands business trip. The location was nice. If I had been on vacation, I would have liked a hotel closer to the beach, but the neighborhood was nice. We were just a couple of minutes away from 5th Avenue with all of the great restaurants. The rooms were a little small, but, again, we were just there for one night on a business trip, so it did the trick. They were updated, as was the bathroom, and the beds were pretty comfy. I am staying in this expensive room and the walls are so thin that I can hear every word from the next room. In fact I can hear many conversations from my whole floor. It is pretty annoying. I am a tall fellow and the desk I am using for Wirk is the size if my 4th grade class. I will tell you that the shower is spacious and the water is hot. The shower head is very big which is a bonus. Now I have to go turn on the tv really loud so I don't continue to hear the next rooms stories. read more

Very affordable considering the proximity to the strip of shops. Very nice, clean, and friendly staff. Everything has been so wonderful and in a very good location ( less than a mile walk to the shoos and a little over a mile to the beach). We brought our bikes and used them to get around. It seems a lot of the vacationers do that and I would definitely recommend it. They have a bike rack to store bikes, though plenty of cars had their bikes still on the backs and it was completely safe. read more

My friend and I saw this hotel on travelzoo for a great rate so we each purchased one night in a city view room. When I called to make the reservation I was on hold for over 10 minutes before someone answered. She was extremely monotone in taking my reservation and we got all the way to the payment method before she advised me the dates were not available. I'm confused; are the dates suddenly not available because I have a travelzoo discount? She then advised me if I would like to contact travelzoo to upgrade my voucher to a bayview room they can assist me further. This seems to be a hidden gem on the edge of downtown. Rooms are clean, quiet, the bed was very comfortable. I meant, I had a hard time finding a place first because trees somewhat cover their sign. They have a walkway as you walk into the lobby to go about half a floor to the registration desk. Prices were very good considering the Naples area. 2 of my girlfriends and I went on a weekend trip for Memorial Day. We found this hotel online and the one girlfriend found it on the Delta website for a good rate. First of all the photos online are very deceiving. It's a very old, run down place where they have made an effort to fix up some areas however other aspects have gone completely untouched. Bathrooms had upgraded amenities however bad patchwork and cracks all over in the walls in the bedroom. We called to see if our room might be ready around 2 to check in and we were told it was. When we arrived at the hotel we were given our keys to a Bay view 2 double bed room which we booked. We opened the door and the room had 1 king size bed and had a view of the road. Two of us stayed up with our luggage on the third floor (no door man to help) while the other went down to fix the room. After about 20 minutes of discussion with the front desk staff the only thing they were willing to do was to bring in a rollaway bed and credit us $50. There was barely enough room to walk in the room let alone bring in a rollaway bed. After I went down to the desk and after threatening to write a review on every travel website I could find about the poor treatment the manager finally came out and agreed to put us in the room we had originally booked and paid for. This took one very nice member of our party trying to explain the situation and get it fixe and one not so nice experienced marketing specialist to tell them exactly what was going to happen if they kept this treatment up and this took a good 30 minutes to straighten out. No one helped us with our bags. No one apologized and said "let us have you take a seat at the bar and we will hold onto your luggage as we figure this out", they had the attitude of "oh well.... cram into a king size bed you three girls." Our room overlooked a dumpster, was not very clean, pool extremely small, breakfast buffet poor.... I could go on and on. We overheard 2 other guests having similar issues. Good location. Would not recommend paying more than $80/night for a place like this. read more

Stayed at Bayfront Inn on Fifth 7 days 5/20-27. It has it's advantages, price being one of them and location being the other. After that it's very lightly staffed so don't expect to much in the way if attentiveness. That being said for those who were working they did a great job. Just know that at least during the off season there's not a lot going on here . Mattresses leave a lot to be desired and Road noise it very present in the rooms with street view. The pool sits at the major intersection ground level about 50 feet from roadway. It's loud and obnoxious at all hours of the day and night. No quietly floating around a raft here. After Breakfast you won't find a hot cup of coffee always ready in fact you won't find anything. The continental breakfast is poor at best. There is only hot water and tea available after that. I'm giving Bayfront a 3 star but in reality if it wasn't for the price n location this is a 2 star hotel at best. read more

The welcoming receptionist gets a star. The non animal testing toiletries gets the other star. For the amount of money spent on this room, I was left wanting. The decor is ok. There was no refrigerator in the room. No continental breakfast was served. The pillows for the bed were couch sized pillows, not actual bed pillows. The bed was lumpy and extremely uncomfortable. My wife and I woke with back pain. The shower is absolutely terrible. Low water pressure. There is a bathtub, it if you want to take a bath, you have to fill it up via the shower head, as there is no tub faucet. You do get a complimentary drink at the bar when you reserve online. Exterior noise can easily be heard within the room. For the amount of money spent on the unnecessary crown molding, they could have put that into more functional comforts in the room. It's not a bad hotel, but for the money they charge, you're better off looking elsewhere. read more

If you are unfortunate enough to conduct business with the folks at Bayfront- BEWARE!!! They will charge you for rooms you do not use and because they collect the $ in advance from your credit card company you will have no choice but to file a dispute when you find out on your next bill that they have overcharged you by $4600. Oh, and by the way, when you ask for an explanation you will be ignored and they will withhold documents when your credit card company tries to intervene. Stay somewhere else or sleep in your car, its safer. read more

A romantic weekend turned into physical threats by the front desk manager, Nicholas. We selected BayFront Inn as the hotel for a special weekend. She lives in Ft. Lauderdale and I live in Tampa, so we thought Naples would be a good meeting destination. We arrived Friday evening and were set to check out Sunday. I called Sunday morning and scheduled us for a late checkout. We wanted to try and maximize the amount of time with each other. We were running slightly behind schedule (she surprised me with a couples massage down the street on 5th Ave). Checkout time was 1pm. We raced back to the hotel and started packing at 12:50pm. We finally had all of our bags packed and we were ready to leave when we received a phone call at 1:25pm. This phone call would certainly ruin the entire trip for us. She answered the phone and proceeded to stay silent for the next few minutes while the front desk manager, Nicholas, berated her. She politely asked him to lower his tone, but the harassment continued until she finally hung up the phone. He called back. Keep in mind it is 1:30 now and we are trying to walk out the door. I answered and Nicholas proceeded to give me a verbal lashing telling me that "we need to get our s*** and get out". At this point we are completely speechless. We had no altercations or problems leading up to this. I asked for his name and after telling me his first name he followed up with it by aggressively telling me to "just wait because he was headed up to the room". At this point we are afraid this Manager is going to show up and cause physical harm. He then pounds on the door. We open the door and Nicholas again proceeds to yell at us and tell us how rude we are for staying past our checkout time of 1pm. Keep in mind it is about 1:35pm. He continued his verbal thrashing for a few minutes and ended it with "Get the f*** out of my hotel before I slap you". We tried several times to shut the door so we could grab our bags, but Nicholas put his foot in the door stopping us from closing it. We were finally able to reason with him in letting us shut the door so we could grab our things and get out of there. Granted we were past our checkout time by 25minutes, but never in my life would I have expected to be treated this way. We were two paying customers being threatened with physical violence because we were 25 minutes past checkout. We honestly felt assaulted and afraid. Hopefully they will correct this issue and fire this employee. I know we will never go back if he is still employed. read more

The location is lovely, the hotel is clean and the rooms are nice. However, it is 90 degrees outside and I find it wholly unacceptable that I have switched rooms twice now and they still cannot get me into a room with a working air conditioner. The customer service also leaves something to be desired: I asked to switch rooms straight away but was told I would have to wait for the maintenance man to try to fix it first. I waited, sweaty and increasingly angry, for 45 minutes before he showed up and told me that the reason it had stopped working was because I had it set at 65, which was "too cold and would freeze the system." Except it was clearly not working even when I first walked in and it was set at 70 but the room was easily at 80 degrees. So, he tinkered with it and it started spitting out colder air. Not cold, mind you, but chillier than just the fan. 10 minutes after he left though, it was back to just the fan and the temperature started rising again. I went downstairs this time instead of just calling and was basically ignored while the manager went to go "inspect" the room (as if they did not believe me when I said the AC was still not working.) When she returned, she did not even address me or apologize for the inconvenience, she simply told the desk clerk to notify housekeeping to fix up my previous room. What about the air conditioner which is still not working properly? I'm giving it until tomorrow morning. If I sweat through the night I am switching hotels. read more

Dined at the waterfront bar yesterday evening with ladies from work, beautiful view, cold beer.. but.... As the evening went on we were not presented with any happy hour menu, just the regular menu that does not offer much of a selection. Max the waiter/bartendar was at first helpful but then when other patrons came he was not as attentive, he seemed to be overwhelmed and a little aggravated. Our food was mediocre although the portion size was good, we had the bruschetta, spinach/artichoke dip, wings, club sandwich, lobster bisque soup and flat bread. The doozy was the end of the night when the bills came. They were all mixed up and he charged one of my co-workers the full price even though she wanted it split between cash and credit and took her cash anyway.....not a great ending. Most likely won't be going back for food, maybe just a cold drink and a nice view. Shane's Cabana bar right behind the hotel had music, seemed lively, I may even try going there next time. read more
