The park is just a green lawn at the beginning of the Embarcadero walk. Great place for frisbee or run your dog. It's also the meeting location if we evacuate the Hilton Hotel. I know TMI. Anyway, its great to look at as you take you walk enjoying the beautiful yachts parked nearby.

Beautiful little park to walk next to ocean. Can enjoy the sun set and do a picnic here or walk around with your pup. Restroom is available and in good condition. I love this little place

Nice view of downtown San Diego, you can see the boats in the distance and to the East the mountains.

Some areas had heavy marijuana smoke in the air, loud music almost no one wears a mask. Beautiful place to walk. Maybe come real early in AM may not be so loud or smelly. I visited at 640pm to eat my dinner.

The National City Aquatic Center is a hidden gem in this part of town! Often, people forget that…read moreNational City is also "waterfront"! The Port of San Diego has done a great job of making this area seem less "industrial" with not just cargo ship unloading, transport hubs, and shipyard maintenance but rather areas that families and the general public can come enjoy. In particular, this review is of the Multi-Purpose Room at the Aquatic Center. A lot of my guests were quite surprised and impressed with the building (built in 2018) and this facility as an event rental space. I even had a few inquiries asking how much I paid. FYI- it was only ~$300 for 6 hours + the price of a security guard. We held my twins' 1st birthday party here. The facility comes equipped with a half kitchen (no refrigeration or kitchen, just a sink), clean private bathroom/locker facilities, tables/chairs for ~80 guests (room can definitely fit a little more), floor to ceiling windows, a TV with Blue Ray Player and access to streaming (you provide the internet), access to Pepper Park, and ample parking. You can also pay extra for reserved parking, custodial maintenance, and more security if needed. Genevieve and Sheila with the Port Facilities reservations department were a pleasure to work with - they were responsive, answered my questions, and were patient with some of our requests. They also allow all vendors, provided they have proper insurance, and do not require usage of any sort of preferred list. My only gripe is that because there's no separate kitchen facility, you'll need to plan your catering in order to keep food stocked and warm/cold. There's a little outdoor space that looks like a fenced in yard-- they should consider turning that into a kitchenette. I'd pay extra to use that. One of the highlights is that there's a great view of the sunset over the coast that many of my guests got to enjoy toward the end of the party. A nice treat for a crisp fall evening! There's a marina, parks, a hotel, and restaurants in this general area west of the 5 freeway. Highly recommend considering this venue for any smaller events. You can always spill into Pepper Park if you need more space.

I came across the NCAC by way of a Groupon offered. It was too good to pass up, so I signed up for…read more90 minutes for a rowing lesson. I also follow National City, and noticed they offered youth summer camps for rowing, kayaking, and SUP. Talking with Dave Frost, the contact for Community Rowing SD, National City is primed to start their own rowing club. He was excited to hear we found them and looks forward to growth in the coming years for the area. I have always wanted to try rowing out and am glad I did. Coach Aly was a blast to work with. She took me and a friend out on single sculls and followed us in a kayak, offering us encouragement and suggestions. She's an athlete through and through and was an easy conversationalist with and enthusiasm for all sports. I'm excited for what the aquatic center will offer in the coming years as the South Bay doesn't have much yet and would be an awesome place to get something running. Signing my niece and nephew up for rowing lessons and look forward to seeing them get a taste of the scene.

Prefacing this review that communication with staff and scheduling was a good experience for me. We…read morewere even able to adjust our start time by a bit as we ran a tad late and appreciate that they were dog friendly, although disclaiming that no dog vests or human vests are provided We unfortunately didn't have the best SUP experience. Our boards didn't seem to be in the best shape, all 3 of them would frequently submerge in water. I've never experienced that with other SUP rentals. This is a wake zone so boats will constantly be coming to and fro on top of the tides (which are understandably uncontrollable) so it made for a challenging time. The individual who set us up was going to give our friend who hasn't paddleboarded before a very quick run down, but got distracted by other people inquiring so we were left a bit puzzled to take off by ourselves We also requested only one hour, but when pricing was requested, the two hour rate was requested. I took the individuals word so we went ahead and paid, but I realized after the fact that it was for 2 hours and so they said they couldn't refund us right there and then, but if we were to just take an hour we could reach back out, but it seemed a bit burdensome

I was really impressed with Sup Coronado. The entire process was seamless and truly wonderful. Once meeting Vicki, we were offered different size boards, waterproof cell phone cases, life vests and a waste belt. She didn't restrict where we could go in the water either. We were free to wander and wander we did. It was choppy waters and boats were everywhere, but we loved it. I highly recommend this company to anyone!
