His arm and hand had gone completely numb, and he was in so much pain that he could barely sit still. Throughout the appointment he was visibly writhing in pain. The urgent care physician had already done what they could and referred him to an orthopedic specialist because they believed he needed further evaluation and treatment. Even though Garey Orthopedic was able to get him in relatively quickly, it still took several agonizing days for the appointment while my brother continued to suffer. At the time, we were grateful to be seen sooner than expected. Looking back after our experience, I couldn't help but wonder whether the availability had less to do with efficiency and more to do with patients choosing not to return to this place. We walked into this appointment expecting expertise, answers, and, at the very least, compassion. Instead, we were met with one of the most cold, dismissive, and uncaring physicians I have ever encountered. Dr. Patel came into the room, asked my brother what was wrong, and while briefly checking his grip strength, asked when the symptoms began. Within just a few minutes he said my brother needed an MRI and then asked, "Are you open to an MRI?" We found that question baffling. We weren't there to decide for ourselves what diagnostic tests should be performed. We were referred to an orthopedic specialist because we expected a physician to evaluate him and determine the appropriate course of action. The most upsetting part of the visit came when we asked what could be done to help manage my brother's unbearable pain while waiting for the MRI. Dr. Patel's response was simply, "Go to the ER." We asked if Garey Orthopedic did not treat pain, and he again replied, "No. Go to the ER." There was no explanation other than an arrogant response the he is a surgeon and if my brother came looking for pain relief he couldnt help him. No discussion of why that was his recommendation. No acknowledgment that the patient sitting directly in front of him was in obvious agony. No empathy. No compassion. Every response felt abrupt, irritated, and dismissive, as though our questions were an inconvenience. I understand that physicians have limits on what they can prescribe or treat. If Dr. Patel believed the emergency room was the appropriate place for pain management, that could have been explained with professionalism and compassion. Instead, his demeanor conveyed complete indifference to someone who was clearly suffering. Later, we asked the nurse if he could be referred to a pain management doctor and she was able to give us a couple of names. At this point however, I don't think I would take that their referral for anything. We accepted the MRI referral because it was necessary, my brother paid his copay, and left. Before we were even out of the parking lot, we had already decided my brother would never return to Dr. Patel. We immediately began looking for another orthopedic physician because we had absolutely no confidence that someone with so little compassion was the right person to oversee his care. A physician's responsibility extends beyond ordering tests. Patients deserve to be heard, informed, and treated with dignity, especially when they are in obvious distress. My brother came to this appointment desperate for help. He left feeling dismissed, unheard, and no closer to finding relief. After reading many of the other reviews, I now understand that our experience was not unique. I only wish I had read them before scheduling this appointment. If you are looking for an orthopedic physician who listens, communicates, and treats patients with compassion, our experience with Dr. Patel was the complete opposite. I cannot recommend Dr. Patel or Garey Orthopedic based on the way my brother was treated.

I was recommended to him to seek an orthopedic surgeon for an ongoing condition that is very painful; this office came highly recommended. Upon arrival I filled out their paperwork, I was put into a room where a nurse took my detailed information regarding my symptoms, my issues, the pain I was experiencing and all was input it into a computer. A few minutes later Sachin Patel arrived not reviewing any of the notes, not reviewing any of the data that I gave to the nurse and proceeded to ask me what my issue was. I explained to him that I was an extreme pain and that I had a previous injury and I had been to urgent care and they referenced me to his office for a diagnosis and a treatment plan. I told him I was in extreme pain and needed his help to resolve my condition. He said "well what do you want me to do for you?" I was shocked I've never heard a doctor asked me what I want him to do for me, "I'm in pain doctor I need help" His response was extremely condescending, and he began talking to me like I was a child...that he needs information first... "We'll need an MRI, if you need pain medication go to an emergency room, we don't do that here, this is an acute medical center. Are you open to getting an MRI or not?" That was enough for me to realize that this guy is not a doctor, he could care less about anybody's pain, he could care less about how you feel, he's just there to collect a co-payment and brush you off. His appearance was disheveled, with long greasy, stringy hair, he looked sweaty and unkempt, he spoke really fast and seemed "amped up" on something. He seemed to be in a real rush to get in and out of that room, he didn't care about hearing what I had to say, he didn't care that I was in extreme pain, it was as if I was bothering him with my condition and he made me feel stupid for requesting help. He told me the MRI would probably take about a week or two. I got the MRI done the next day and I'm now scheduling with another orthopedic surgeon to actually care for my condition. This doctor and this office is nothing but a joke don't waste your time, your effort and your money going here.

He took the time to explain everything, answered my questions, and made me feel completely at ease. The steroid injections in both hands provided incredible relief, and the difference has been remarkable. Throughout the procedure, Dr. Goldman was kind, compassionate, and very supportive, making what could have been an uncomfortable experience much easier. If you're looking for an orthopedic specialist who is knowledgeable, skilled, and genuinely cares about his patients, I highly recommend Dr. Scott Goldman. I'm incredibly grateful for his care and expertise.

My first experience with this office was in 2016. I was a patient of Dr. Saddiq's. I saw him…read moremonthly for many years I was very happy with the practice. I felt well cared for. In August 2022 I was in a major car accident. I spent a year in hospitals, acute care facilities, surgeries, and finally a nursing home to recover. In August 2023 I was discharged from the nursing home. I assumed that I would go back to my wonderful doctor Saddiq. However, when I tried to make an appointment, I was informed by his Office manager (wife) that my physician no longer wanted to be my physician and that they had a staff meeting about me to make this decision. Evidently they felt my case was too complicated for the physician to handle. This left me in a very confused and upset position as I was now being discharged from the nursing home with no trusted physician to care for me outpatient. I have now been home a year. The transition has been exceedingly difficult because instead of working with a trusted physician who I knew well, I have had to use the nursing home physician who practices 3 cities away from where I live. Not a great time to be shopping around for a long term physitian and specialists. This has been a profound challenge, adjusting to being home as a new paraplegic who needs continued care. I have tried talking with the office staff at this office to see if we could mediate whatever the concerns were that they had. I have felt like the treatment from their front office and the silence from Dr. Saddiq himself has been less than kind this last year. I thought long and hard before writing this review, but in light of the way that I have been treated in the last attempts to discuss this with them I came to the conclusion that this review is long overdue. I find myself wondering what happened to the wonderful physician that I used to work with in this office? What did I do wrong? In full disclosure, I would've been a bit of a project when I first came out of the nursing home. I need orders for durable medical equipment, changes in medication, help withdrawing from pain meds. And home health care. I did it all successfully alone. And in May of this year I weaned myself off pain meds with no help from doctors. While I wish no ill will on this staff and I forgive them, I still feel hurt that I was left to fend for myself, deal w a broken Insurance and medical system and lost a great doctor I trusted as I recovered.
