I've stayed at this hotel several times while traveling for business, and it's always been a great experience. The rooms are consistently spotless, comfortable, and well cared for. You can tell the staff takes pride in treating each room as if they were staying in it themselves, and I really appreciate that level of attention to detail. The pool is also very clean, relaxing, and well maintained, making it a great place to unwind after a long day. The staff has always been friendly and helpful throughout my stays. The only issue I've had was with the room key, but a kind janitor was quick to help and let me back into my room, so it was resolved without much hassle. I've stayed at several other hotels in Yreka, and unfortunately I've had negative experiences at most of them. This hotel is in a completely different league. It's by far the cleanest, best-maintained, and most comfortable place I've stayed in the area. I wouldn't choose to stay anywhere else when I'm in Yreka. read more

I really like to stay here in this hotel the hotel was very clean. The bed was very neat and clean. just a reminder there is no elevator in this hotel as it was a bit troublesome for us to lift the huge suitcase to the second floor our room. The receptionist was quite friendly and very sweet and she made us comfortable. They have vending machines just behind the reception area. As it was a weekday, the breakfast timing was between 6 AM till 9 AM .We got our breakfast here, but I was a bit disappointed because there were the breakfast area was under renovation so there's only two tables placed near the reception area and the food option was also limited. A few things could improve. I was left maybe an 1/8 of a toilet paper roll to wipe with for two people that's insane.. They don't even use fitted sheets on the beds. For $130 a night with tax this is a full on rip off. Don't let the pool fool you the hot tub doesn't have hot water either. I've stayed at places for $55 that had better service than this place. Clearly our experience was super compared to some that were written in September. If considering staying here, I suggest you read "all the reviews". Easy access on and off the freeway. Hotel has had a complete makeover in the last 3 years, much better. Best part, no more outside entrances to units, all inside now. Feels a lot safer. Sadly the hot tub had no jets, but was warm. Breakfast pretty lame. Rooms are tiny, so the rollaway chair @ the desk area was super fun to get around each other, whee.... in the room. Clean, quiet, good bedding, good bed, $144 2 queen beds, 1 night, it was all we needed. Very well maintained grounds as well. read more

This hotel advertises as Pet Friendly and charges a surcharge for your pet. The pet area was a total mess. The weeds were at least 10 inches high in this area and my dog picked up a spur in his paw. Whole facility, especially the room, needs an extreme update. Furniture lamp shades tv etc was extremely outdated and damaged. Light switches weren't working, Hotel smelled like smoke even though it is a non-smoking facility, air conditioning didn't work, curtains were worn and didn't completely keep out the sunlight because they weren't fitted right. Room key wouldn't work and when asked a staff member to help her answer was "yeah room 125 just does that sometimes". read more

For starters the two guys at front desk were very slow and confused it seemed . I only asked for 2rooms downstairs,because I had my 86 yr old handicapped mother with me, and they said yes , but then they didn't ! If you are handicapped, I wouldn't come here chances are you will be upstairs with no elevator ! Once we got checked into our room, I discovered a dirty wet wash cloth in the shower. No ice buckets or ice machines but you do have a refrigerator in microwave in the room. Most of the lights switches in our room 208 and my mother's 209 were not working. There was an iron ,ironing board hairdryer, dog water bowl? And a coffee maker. Pretty expensive room for the lack of convenience. read more

Many family members stayed here recently to attend my mother's celebration-of-life event. I booked 3 rooms for 2 nights. None of the charges on my bank statement matched the email receipts. After calling the hotel, I was told one charge was for stolen towels & a pillow. The other excess room charges were never explained. I requested a call from the Hotel Mngr, Katie Barnes in 2 emails and 2 phone calls. No contact from her to date. No new emails itemizing the extra charges or the goods allegedly stolen. The room in question did not have the right towel count to begin with (my brother just "made due"). Without a doubt we will not be staying here again. One of the most interesting stays for me. Visiting Yreka, this is a good place to stay I guess. The free breakfast has good waffles, they had whipped cream toppings and even more! Yummy biscuits too! They had a cool pool area - hot tub closed which was disappointing considering I called and asked if the pool area was open they said yes but didn't tell me the hot tub was closed. Shady. And my last night there when I wanted to swim, there was a whole pool party of a bunch of little kids. The lobby was soaked. Next weird thing was all the tweakers who live behind the hotel on the hill. They call it fentanyl hill I guess. So yeah, there's that lol. Crazy that people really bring their kids to visit Yreka. If you are reading this and you have a kid don't stay here, please stay in Redding at a Marriott or stay at the holiday inn express in Yreka it will be much more relaxing I'm sure but the tweakers and all that is not the employees fault. Good place to spend the night if on a long drive and need to stop over for a break. Room was decent. However the pillows were too soft causing pain. Located near walking distance from a couple of food places like black bear dinner, McDonald's etc Indoor heated pool was nice but the hot tub was closed for repairs. read more

The check in/out process was a breeze and the employees at the desk were very accommodating and friendly. We were there for a wedding and had formal attire that need ironing and our iron was a bit dysfunctional and they quickly switched it out. Though the rooms are a bit outdated, the room and linens were still clean. A bit of rust on the bathroom doorframe because there was no working exhaust fan to alleviate the moisture. Tub faucet had a bit of a leak that was unnoticeable as long as the bathroom door was shut at night. All the lights have to be turned on manually than just by a single switch, and you had to have all of them on in order to have decent lighting in the room. While these may be a huge deal to others to deal with for a weekend to us they were minor infractions that could be worked around. I gave 4 stars because the customer service was really great. I've read previous entries that read otherwise and I just did not see how it was so. This would definitely be a place to stay if we were ever up in the Siskiyou Valley again. read more

Let's be real here, this hotel is old and is currently under construction while updating, but it checks a lot of boxes all the same. The pool is amazing, and by far the best amenity of this hotel. The hot tub is closed, but the pool is adequately heated so not really a deal breaker. The staff is super professional and accommodating. The beds are comfortable and room was clean. Breakfast included, although not great . I give 4-stars based on the fact that the only better hotel in Yreka is the Holiday Inn Express, but their pool sucks. Reserved a king suite room for 2 nights to visit our daughter and granddaughter. First I was given a hot tub room NOT the king suite I requested. Then he changes us to another SUPPOSED king suite that was smaller than the first, STILL not the one I requested. The only thing that gives it a star is the time we got in the pool with our granddaughter. Needless to say I called the front desk AGAIN and changed my reservation to 1 night. The bed was comfortable. Anytime there is a comfortable bed they get an extra star. The jacuzzi is shut down by the county but the butter is shared! Lol. The staff is nice, the place is slightly out of date but nice. I'd stay again even without a breakfast keto option, Stevia/Splenda and an ice bucket in my room. Do not stay here! For any reason unless you are desperate. Overpriced rooms that are dirty, outdated and loud. Multiple things in the room either didn't work or didn't work properly i.e. no bathroom fan, fridge froze all of our drinks, and the AC had no fan. Customer service is non existent. I work in customer service and have a real problem dealing with someone's horrible attitude simply because they have to do their job and answer a CUSTOMERS questions. I have no choice to put to put a 1 for a bad review so I couldn't put a O. Even though they Didn't deserve not even a 1. I had reservations to be there for 2 nights and I had to change it , so i called the hotel.com and changed it and said there was 3 instead of two people going and it ended up being a disaster. Woke up in the morning to a phone call from the front office tell me we had to leave the room and that we could stay any longer and we had to pack up and find an other hotel. Didn't even get a chance to shower we were told to leave because she said we lied about our reservations , i told her to take it up with hotel.com because they record everything you say . I was furious to say the least and they want to still charge me for the night. I would never recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Yreka, Calif. We went there to visit my sister at the hospital that is dying and saddened with the whole trip there. And it ended up costing more because of not having reservations. read more

The Baymont was everything we needed after a long drive from Seattle. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the lobby was decorated in Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness. The pool and hot tub were fantastic, clean and felt great after driving. The workout area was closed The rooms were clean and comfortable. There was some hair left around the sink area and the shower drain was slow, but everything else was clean and fine. Breakfast includes waffles and biscuits and gravy! Would stop here again just for the indoor pool set up! read more

Still remodeling after 5 months. First keycard wouldn't open back outside access door which is locked for guest safety. Second keycard wasn't necessary for end of building outside door as it didn't have a lock. (Apparently guest safety isn't important at this end of the hotel.) Assigned room hadn't been cleaned (we checked in around 5pm). Third trip to the front desk and we finally got a cleaned room. It did take a bit to make sure it was our room as the number was not on the door but on the floor near the door. More evidence of construction dirt. read more

I wrote a review two years ago and most of what I said below is still correct. The hotel is situated halfway between Portland and the Bay Area and has a good set of amenities. The indoor pool is excellent. The large parking lot is convenient. So what's changed? Well, it's under new management. As nearly as I can tell, they seem to be doing a good job. I did not see evidence of management trying to cut corners to improve profits as I had noted in 2017. The breakfast was very nice. Including eggs and a waffle iron. One thing I noticed was that 30 minutes before the breakfast was over for the day, the eggs were refilled. I like that - that is better than I expected. The hotel itself still looks a little dated but I saw no signs of anything broken or dirty. I will continue to make this my stop when driving between California and Oregon. I recommend you do too. read more

So run down and gross. The staff does not wear masks. Our room had hair floating around on the floor, inside of towels and bedspread had stains on them, soaps are small and not great, and the toilet paper was also out when we got to our room. The walls are also extremely thin and you can hear everyone walking around upstairs. If it wasn't the only room available for miles I absolutely would have gone somewhere else. Definitely not up to Wyndham standards BUT our room and bed were clean. We were there only as a stop, sleep and go and it sufficed. Breakfast was powdered scrambled eggs (not good), sausage patties and assorted American junk foods. Did have yogurt, not the best quality. Apples and oranges were the healthiest things to grab. My mom and I were driving back from a funeral in Coos Bay, OR and we decided to stop for the night in Yreka, as we were both exhausted. We debated whether or not to stop in Medford or Yreka, and lo and behold, Baymont has a discount for an organization I'm part of. I was able to make a same day reservation without any issues. The hotel itself was fine - room was clean and the shower was more than adequate. Only problem is that the place doesn't have an elevator and they charge a premium for rooms on the first floor because they have a fridge and microwave. Other problem is that the front desk staff are severely lacking - I had to wait quite a bit for someone to show up when I was checking out. The place is about as central Yreka as it gets - not too far from food or anything else. The Black Bear Diner out front gets quite a bit of business and was extremely hectic while we were there. read more

The room was horrible. AC didn't work in the middle of summer. Walls are very thin, so don't expect peace and quiet. The bathtub drain also didn't work so a shower was out of the question. The price for the hotel is too high for what you actually get. I highly recommend searching for another hotel to stay in. Masks aren't enforced here either, and it looks dirty in the hotels. Pros: 1. Room was clean 2. Check in was easy and hassle free 3. Nice pool and jacuzzi (although didn't get a chance to use them as we stayed only 1 night and checked in very late) 4. Breakfast was ok, with cereal, waffles (had to wait a long time as there was a line and it only made 1 at a time), coffee, oj, milk, muffins, I think there was fruit, but we got there late and it was all gone. Cons 1. No elevator that we could find and hauling luggage up to the second floor was not fun. 2. Funky smell in the second floor hallway. 3. Treadmill in the "gym" didn't work well. It said I was going 6.3 mph, but I was walking, and when I started to run the belt stopped. Bottom line, it was a good place to hang my hat for a night, nothing fancy, but not bad. Update: We stayed here again on our way back from our trip and have just one update. The jacuzzi is nice, but the pool is freezing. Oh and the upstairs hallway still smells. read more

The price is decent but the morning staff is rude. The night person was waiting on us when we arrived which was nice and the rooms themselves are not bad. The pillows are not the best and the tub and sink drain very slowly. Check out is noon, one of the reasons I picked the place since we were traveling late. At 9:15 and 10:20 housekeeping knocked on the door, we answered but they tried to open and come in anyway. Then at 11:55 when we are about to step out a person with a clip board knocks and asks if we were planning on staying another day... again their check out is noon so at this point we were not late. The desk person rather than listening and just saying I am sorry and that she will let staff know, she made excuses. There are plenty of other hotels along the same street, pick another one unless you plan on leaving early. read more

I do not recommend this place to ANYONE! I called asking about the deluxe king suite to see if it had a jacuzzi in it due to the fact that I had covid at the time and was traveling cross country. The lady confidently said yes. I didn't need it for the size. I was by myself. Was disappointed to find out it didn't have a jacuzzi. I paid extra for nothing. Also the renovation cleanup needs to be better. Don't leave the entire hotel a disaster. Clean up regularly! Dust all over the top of my shower area. Bathroom fan didn't work and there were facial hair trimmings all over the back of the shower from previous guest. Disgusting!!!! Also there should be more than one waffle maker especially if you have an entire family making waffles for themselves. I contacted the general manager. She offered an upgrade when their renovation is done. I politely declined and asked for a discount. Never responded back. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! read more
