He came and picked up the laptop so he could try to diagnose the issue. Well, after testing it and looking at it, he said there was nothing wrong. And the darn thing was charging for him! Doh! He promptly dropped my laptop back the next day and wasn't going to bill me because there was no issue to repair. But, given the efforts he had put in and the driving back and forth, it didn't feel right so I gave him something to say thanks because he absolutely deserved it. (And just for starters, how wonderful is that?) Just at the verge of completion, the computer suddenly presented a series of extremely stubborn issues-- but they were no match for Dan's expertise and patience. The issues became so complicated that the phone call had to be supplemented with a house call-- and by the end of that brief visit, the computer was working smoothly again AND its operating system was fully updated and streamlined.
