I was having trouble re-installing Office 365 (specifically Outlook) on my new PC laptop. All the other products installed seamlessly. Despite numerous attempts (and diagnosis time/effort), Outlook just refused to connect up with my email server (Google). I used Yelp, rather than the 800 number (which reportedly is slow in responding). Well a Yelp inquiry wasn't much faster as I didn't get a response for a day and one half. The good news is that Ken got back to me and things went well after that. We set up a remote access day and time. The remote access works really well and he was able to figure out a couple of details that were blocking the connection (cached incorrect credentials, Google Access issue, Registry issue and 7 unneeded and worthless .OST files). He even suggested a better virus protection software product along with improved Ad Blocker software. I am very pleased with the knowledge and support of Ken. They charge for a minimum of one hour and he had me working in 40 minutes. He told me that if I have another issue, I can use the remaining 20 minutes of help. read more

I am eternally grateful to Yoga Bear for recovering my photos. I stupidly accidentally formatted my external hard drive with Time Machine and lost 15 years' worth of photos. I simply do not get all the 4 and 5 star reviews for Yoga Bear Computer Repair. It makes me suspect based upon my experience. I was looking for a local Sacramento based computer repair company. I'm pretty computer literate myself, going all the way back to DOS. But sometimes it is just easier to have someone else do the troubleshooting and repair. I was also looking to start to develop a long-term relationship with a local computer repair company that I can count on and use for future computer needs for myself or other family members. I called their phone number, 916-800-3035 and left a message regarding my issue. I received no call back in 24 hours. So I called again and left another message. Another 24 hours has gone by and NO call back. People with computer issues are in a hurry to get them fixed. This just doesn't cut it. I'm in marketing and sales. The number one rule for a company is to ANSWER THE PHONE when potential customers are calling. If you can't get to somebody to solve their problem because you are too busy, just tell them. But answer the phone or get back to somebody that leaves a message in a timely manner. 48 hours and still counting is not a "timely manner" and is not acceptable. Maybe Yoga Bear Computer does great computer repair work and the reviews are legit. I'll never know because I simply could not get a response back from them to get the repair process started. It looks like I need to look elsewhere for this repair issue because this has gotten old. read more

It was getting out of hand so I sent my PC off for repair. They were unable to diagnose and issue and told me everything looked normal on my PC. still needed to pay $200+ for nothing to change and my PC is still crashing routinely. So many red flags! This guy kept me from getting my computer repaired for over 2 weeks. I let him know i needed it right away. He said he ordered the part. Told me to drop my computer off at some guys house before he had the part. He doesn't answer his phone, takes days, if ever to respond to texts and emails. If he's too busy, or on his honeymoon or just cant keep his information straight, why would he still be answering requests for quotes? I think with 360 reviews and 5 stars, that speaks for itself, but I'll add mine to the stack. Service was incredible. Quick and easy communication. Having a problem with your laptop is already a huge headache so it is nice to have experts like Yoga Bear who are nice and considerate. The tech who repaired my laptop came to personally pick it up on a Friday evening.. that's dedication. He diagnosed it by Sunday, gave me a quick call then touched base again on Monday. He found out it was because of my graphic card, gave me my options of replacing the card vs getting a new laptop with cost savings, which I really appreciated. He looked up part prices and everything. I decided it wasn't worth replacing the graphic card, so I came to pick up my laptop on Monday, since he was located close to my work. I received my laptop back and turns out he cleaned my screen (my really dusty n oily screen since it was a touch screen lol) AND he cleaned my keyboard cover... I didn't even clean it myself after months bc I was too lazy lol but it was so nice of him to do that. I recently checked my Dell XPS 15 in for an issue regarding video card failure that caused the system to frequently crash and reboot. Out of all of the repair places I called Yogi was the most knowledgeable and responsive regarding diagnosis. Due to covid, the offered to pick up my computer at no extra charge and would diagnose repair. Within the first week I received my first update that a reboot/reinstallation of windows did not due the trick--as expected. Quickly I was offered a solution related to the SSD, which appeared to likely fix the issue, I was given a 2 week time frame, and the option to also upgrade my ssd to 1TB, and I obliged. About two weeks later, another update, the SSD was not the issue either--to my surprise I was certain this would've been it. Puzzled Yogi Bear continued to troubleshoot with me and eventually contacted Dell, turned out the motherboard was the issue--Yogi went above and beyond to get the motherboard covered under Dells warranty program, although it took a few months for that to take place I was not charged for the repair which was unexpected since my computer was out of warranty shortly before. Several attempts and a repair later My computer was restored and I didn't lose a single file or document. Also, because of this awesome experience I decided to upstage my SSD to 1TB, that addition was seamless and my computer was returned running better than it ever has. Submitted my request for a quote to recover data from an external hard drive which my PC would not read. Within 10 minutes I received an initial response and within the hour they received my authorization to do the job. Michael was very professional and made sure I understood the pricing and there was no guarantee of recovery, but they would attempt to. He quoted me 2 prices...unsuccessful recovery ($89) and successful recovery ($133.50). He also did his best to get the job started soon (Sunday) vs. later. The technician assigned was Ken.
