I called today for a quote on a small repair for pc, an Ethernet cable was broken and stuck in the port. Natomas computer tech answered right away and helped me troubleshoot the issue over the phone. He acknowledged what I was experiencing and reassured me this was a quick fix I could do on my own. After sending a picture of the issue, he walked me through the steps and sent back pictures with arrows and instructions. Within minutes I was able to resolve it. Service tech was honest, has integrity and solid knowledge of home computers. Although I didn't actually have to pay to have a repair done, I will be returning to Natomas Computer Tech with future questions. Thank you for the quick response and walking me through the steps. Complimentary Service Today my fairly new Windows laptop crawled and snailed along. I could not load any web pages no matter what website I visited. I called Natomas Computer Tech by simply Googling from my smartphone. I explained to Allen what was going on. He helped me troubleshoot right over the phone, and resolved my issue immediately. I suddenly had laptop charging problems so I messaged several tech repair businesses in the area. Not only did Alan respond to me first but the communication with him was straightforward and succinct (asked specific questions like laptop model number instead of giving a generic "just stop by at our place first" message, which I received from a couple of other businesses) and he provided the cheapest estimate. When I eventually showed him my laptop, he did some diagnosing, walking me through each step explaining what he was doing. It turns out that the problem was less severe than I thought and he was able to fix the problem in a jiffy. Pretty professional and would contact him again if I have another laptop-related problem. I gave this a couple of days before leaving a review to ensure that my computer was working properly. From the start Alan was very knowledgeable and quick to respond to all of my questions and or concerns. I would highly recommend Natomas computer repair to anyone who is in need of some type of computer repair and/or servicing. Alan was able to take me in, in such a short notice and also ordered the part right in front of me, I didn't feel like I was being sold on anything, I felt like I was dealing with a family member who truly cared about me. Alan is a very knowledgable computer tech! On my Alineware I was basically stuck under a boot loop because I was having an underlying problem with a corrupt windows installation from a stupid previous owner who sent me this with everything being slow, overheating, and fans running loud! After weeks of tuning and fixing from this previous owner this Alienware was much better but then I noticed it still frame dropping because my other 2 cores were missing? So I tried to fix it under config to use all processor and got stuck on a VERY SCARY boot loop. Good thing about Alan is he is very cautious of every situation making sure that the next decision would not make the situation worse. Being very cautious shows that he knows what can happen because of his great knowledge. We got everything fixed up by fully resetting the PC because current windows install was corrupt. That was a scary experience because I worked hard to buy this Alienware and need the laptop for college work the day after. Alan is a 5 Star magnet :) read more

Waited a couple days before I wrote this! I brought in my computers at week becuz my 3 yr old laptop/battery was draining in minutes. I decided to message Alan pretty late at night, and he responded so quickly! He provided a quote and his approach to the issue. So I brought it in the next day. Next day, I brought it in (love his garage setting) he checked my computer and quickly identified that I needed a new battery. He ordered one in front of me, gave me an exact quote, and he said I can either leave it or bring it in when it arrives. I did that! So fast forward to this week, I brought it in, he changed it out within 10-20 mins, and my computer is back in shape!!! His rate is super reasonable and he works with u for sure. He doesn't try to upsell you anything (SO IMPORTANT TO ME becuz if anyone tries to sell me anything else I instantly lose trust lol! ) and is really there to try to help you solve issues. He also gave me some computer maintenance tips, I appreciate them! Alan is skillful at his craft. I'm just back from a visit to Natomas Computer Tech and I'm very, very happy. I needed the power supply replaced in an old computer due to a noisy fan, but that's not something I'm comfortable doing myself. I obtained a new power supply and brought it over, but it turned out that supply was bad. Since it was really only the fan I cared about, he offered to put the good fan from the bad power supply into the old power supply, warning me that I'd then be unable to send the defective one back. I just wanted the problem fixed, so he made the swap while I waited and now my computer room is quiet again. Very, very nice, calm guy who clearly knows what he's doing. I would absolutely do business with him again. read more

I had a hardware issue with my desktop. I was pretty sure what the problem was, but I don't like trying to fix hardware issues on my own because I'm afraid I'll do more damage than good. I called several repair places around, and Alan was the only one who answered the phone. He told me to bring the computer by right then, and he diagnosed the problem in his shop while I looked on. About 15-20 minutes later we knew what the issue was, I ordered a replacement part from Amazon, and as soon as it came in Alan fixed it right up. His prices were fair, and he's a nice guy to boot. In less than A H, Alan ask me what was the problem with my laptop and went searching for a whole brand new laptop and found me a great deal for a new laptop! All I have to do now is switch my hard drive to the new computer and BAM, saved a ton of money. Alan must be one of a kind repair guy in this area because he answered all my questions and He didn't want a dime from me. Thanks again! Searched for techs in the area and was originally going to try a another spot until I read their horrible reviews! Thank goodness for Yelp etc. because we were able to find Alan AND he was literally minutes away from us! My boyfriend was having issues with a computer tower that stopped working after a power outage. He tried replacing multiple components with no luck at all. The files he was needing could only be obtained with the computer on while another program was running. So this wasn't just an issue of copying the hard drive and had to get the tower up and running. Well, with a little finagling Alan was able to get it going but when we went to pick her up it decided to not work again. This tower was being super moody lol.. Not to be outdone tho, Alan again began working his magic and was able to 'Frankenstein' our tower into working order because it booted up! I think we all felt the excitement when we could see our homescreen on his monitor lol.. We had a lil blip when we got home as it was trying to not start up again (at no fault to Alan!)‍BUT it eventually decided when it was ready to power up and haven't had any issues since! He is definitely a trooper and we appreciate his help! read more

Meet the Business Owner: Alan M.

In 1997, I started my first computer consulting company where we would help home and small business clientele. My next advance was providing IT support services in the aerospace industry. Rocket scientists are actually pretty funny people. From there I found myself in the IT department of a Fortune 100 company whose name sounds like... (cough) Bells Cargo. I wore many hats over my 15 year career, from desktop and server support to system administration. Eventually designing and supporting applications for the entire bank. It was nice being busy everyday but I started to miss the human interactions. Like seeing someone smile when recover their email or watching a person's stress dissipate because you've developed a program which cuts their workload by 20%. As it turns out, I have a passion for solving puzzles and helping others. A wise man once told me that "technology are tools which enhance your life" and what do you know. He was right.

I needed a roof mounted antenna to get local HD channels for use with Plex TV (and an HDHomerun…read moretuner). I tried a couple different indoor antennas, but had poor reception (especially ABC). Nahem gave us a fair quote, and did a great job with the installation. Lots of communication during the process (different possibilities for where to mount the cable, where to run it into the house, etc.) The antenna is well mounted to the chimney, and the cable is neatly and tightly mounted under the eaves, and the point where it goes into the house is fully weather sealed. Nahem was able to dial in the positioning so that all stations have a strong signal (even ABC, which is notoriously difficult). I highly recommend Nahem/OTA Communications.

Research showed that our area of Sacramento (North Natomas) is capable of delivering a high number for channels through antenna with good quality signal and picture. Given this info, I then did some more research on what the best antenna for our needs would be, and how we could set ourselves up to record shows broadcast over air. After figuring out the antenna I wanted (Clearstream 2V) and the equipment we needed for recording shows (Tablo 4th Gen 4-Tuner), I then reached out to Nahem at OTA Communications to have everything installed. I am so glad I did! Nahem is the consummate professional- he came out as scheduled, explained exactly how the individual equipment would work, what he needed to do install everything, answered every question I had, and did an excellent job setting everything up. We now have 88 clear and crisp over-air channels (along with an additional 103 provided by the Tablo 4) and a dedicated resource (Naheem) who I feel I can call at any time with further questions or concerns. Premium level customer service, just a great guy who takes immense pride in his work. And now we've knocked 160.00 a month off our cable bill. Thanks Nahem!
