Sunday brunch menu is limited but has some great options that aren't available other days. The chicken and biscuit sandwich was amazing! One of the best biscuits I have tasted in a while. The chicken and waffles were delicious and not what I expected. The waffle was more like a flavorful waffle cone than a giant Belgian waffle. The fried chicken was very tasty. The bacon was crisp and wonderful. The over medium egg was perfect. My Diet Coke was never empty this time and the rest of the service was also on point. We had a fun discussion with one of the owners, I think and were convinced of his love of good food and New Orleans. Nothing fancy with the furnishings and atmosphere but more than enough for downtown Salem. I'll definitely be back!

One of the best fried chicken sandwiches ever. And the batter has a little kick too, so it has a little heat. Not crazy about the hot chicken sandwich cuz it's just too much hot sauce, but the classic is unbelievable. My wife always gets the Caesar with grilled chicken and it's so good. We all know the beignet fried chicken sliders are good. But this is one of my favorite spots in Salem. Lastly, the service is always great. The owner, waiting staff and chefs are always super personable.

Both were flavorful and filling, and satisfied our craving just right. The cornbread served with our meals was also super tasty, with a light and sweet flavor that complimented our dishes well. Our waitress was very kind and attentive and made an effort to ensure our dining experience was a pleasant one. She offered to get us a to-go container for the seafood broth before we even asked, and I'm so glad we took her up on that offer because that broth made a great second meal the next day! We visited during a time they weren't particularly busy (about 4pm), but even then a few tables were occupied. It's clear that this location has more activity into the evening, especially since there is a full bar and they don't close until 10pm most days. We were also pretty happy with the price, considering we've paid more for less food at other restaurants offering seafood boils. We'll definitely be eating here again!

Because it's Mardi Gras, I was hoping for some Jambalaya or Gumbo of some of that good New Orleans stuff. With that said, before heading home, we searched online where nearby we could go for take out. We did have another market, Shell Gas station not far from where we started, but their Jambalaya was like 'soy sauce colored rice'. THAT's not what I'm craving for! We found one further, and they have Seafood Gumbo, so we drove there. I thought it would take faster than 15 mins. but first we have to wait until the waitress, who told us to seat & wait, she'll give us the menu, (we just found the menu from their website), she wasn't free for a long time. The Seafood Gumbo order came with corn bread and rice. I've eaten Southern & Northern style foods in the past, but the cornbread was probably one of the worst I've eaten! Dry like the Sahara Desert, and old! I took one look at the Gumbo, and I wasn't sure what it was on top, it freaked me out! It was probably one of the largest clam, but I like mine in bite size pieces, not one as big as my tongue. For awhile there, I thought it was a body of a squid, but I like mine toasted, crispy or fried. There's shrimp, and clams with shells. The taste was so-so, hubby did liked it, so he'll eat all of my portion. I did took a couple of spoonfuls, but that's it! (For now, I'm done craving for Gumbo soup!, Corn bread, too!) The staff that was helping us, was cordial, so I give her points for that!

The chicken (was tender) biscuits and gravy were so good. Biscuits were fluffy, the sausage gravy had a taste I couldn't put my finger on be was so tasty. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and, soft in the middle with a smoky flavored seasoning that made me want even more. Service~Our server and customer service was top notch. We chose to sit on the patio and, he was managing 6 times at once. He greeted the both of us promptly with water. Took our orders and, while we wait he continued to check on us while refilling his our drinks. Ambiance~Very clean restaurant and restroom. It was a very calm and relaxing atmosphere. Only street parking and, it's in a residential neighborhood. We chatted another 30 minutes after our meal and, didn't feel rushed to leave. I would highly recommend this restaurant it's a family owned and, they are from Louisiana.

It's a good French toast but doesn't have that much banana flavor outside of the caramelized bananas. It was good with the sauce and whipped cream though! Also got some sides (egg, potatoes, coleslaw not shown) which were average.

You need to take your luck and stop by and see if they open since their hours on Yelp are not accurate or current. I did not call the phone listed on Yelp, so I may need to do it next time. My first time there was about three weeks ago during lunch without looking for anything special. Since then, I stopped by between 2-4 pm, and they closed, so I am craving it! I also ordered the beignet and was not impressed since I still tasted the uncooked thick dough. I would order this again before giving my final take on it and other things on their menu. I loved their humor decors; they all made me giggle, looking at and reading them. They are conveniently located at the Corner 14 Food Pod with other carts with limited parking on the pavement area; otherwise, it's gravel underneath a bridge/overpass structure, so drive slowly. There are shaded sitting areas and an electronic fireplace for cold days.

My son chose to have the Alligator Nuggets! The redeeming factor here was that they were still tender. It seemed the oil was likely too hot, or overused and the breading was lightly burned. Either way they still had an okay taste, they were mostly missing that golden brown color that you hope for when getting breaded fried foods. The crawfish etouffee was pretty disappointing for us. The sauce/gravy to rice ratio was WAY off, essentially it was about a 2 inch tall pack of rice, and a drizzle of gravy. The gravy's seasoning was disappointingly spicy just to be spicy instead of having an even blend of flavor and space. Had the flavor punch been balanced with the spice level it would have at least tasted better, and felt better generally speaking. Lastly the crawfish were cut up into even tinier pieces, which made for a lack of protein in this dish. While the decoration outside the cart is fun and enticing, the food, and the personal experience were lacking. There was very little excitement in the truck, and seemingly a lack of passion/engagement that we've experienced at other food trucks that change the overall experience for us. We had fun trying out a food that has deep roots in our family, and may come back to see if we can get a redemption review in the future.
