I suppose it is, however, rather unfair to expect a local library to possess a work from literally evey author known to man. Also, I have never seen a more extensive DVD collection in any library. They have so many television shows, it's almost unreal! The staff is very friendly and very open to any questions you have. You never have to wait long for someone to help you at the Information desk. They also host fun events for the community like fall carnivals! My wife's gumbo was very peppery, she knew that it would be from previous visits and she wasn't disappointed. She told me she would be able to eat only one or two spoonfuls at a time before taking a drink. But she ate the whole bowl! The decor is vintage. There are all kinds of Budweiser mobiles and pub mirrors on the walls. There was even a vintage cigarette vending machine with pull knobs for each selection! Two months ago, only brought partial order of my monthly water (autodrafted my card for full amount of course). I called and was told they were shorthanded and they'd try to get over there next week. Never happened. Last month, they took all my empty bottles and left ZERO WATER. Again, charged my card for full price. I called a total of four times trying to get water delivered for the month. Every time, I was told someone would drop it off within a few days. Never happened. I am paying my housekeeper to go to the self-serve water store down the road, and refilling my water all month. Since they took all but the bottle that was inside, I have had to refill the bottle several times. And last but not least, I get next month's water bill yesterday. Again, for full price. They know I haven't had water in 6 weeks. Nobody cares. I called and cancelled my account. I asked for a refund, which the girl says "no we won't do that". No problem, I will just reverse the charge with citibank. Finally the girl puts me on hold for several minutes....now they say they will mail me a check. Right. Can't seem to keep your promise to bring water, but I will get a check in the mail. Literally lost a life-long customer over this stuff. And I found out it's not so bad going to refill my own water bottles, when you have several empty ones to refill. Much cheaper too.

Exhibits detail the Cairo's role in the river campaigns of the Civil War, its sinking by an electrically detonated mine, and the incredible salvage operation. This museum educates about the technical and military aspects of the era and tells a compelling story of innovation, warfare, and preservation.

Very few today could've dealt with this type of environment. Take a few moments and close your eyes and imagine the life of a soldier on an iron side boat. This exhibit is well laid out, but it is what you make of it. Well worth the experience.

I graduated with my BA from Tech in 2012 and my MA in 2014, and with this being my first visit to Ruston since then, we booked this hotel for our anniversary trip (was supposed to be in Boston, but Covid happened). This hotel wasn't here back in the day, and it is really a beautiful place to stay. The staff is friendly, and the housekeepers are extremely cordial and will do everything to make your stay the best possible. That said, we booked our stay as titanium members and hoped to get an upgraded room since that's what the status entails. Instead, we were placed in a small room with a tiny closet and two drawers to store clothes for six days. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. Lots of additional storage opportunities could have happened - especially under the bathroom sink, a larger chest of drawers, and under the bed. It appears the designers missed the mark there. We were also told housekeeping would come by every third day. It didn't happen. We had to ask housekeeping to come by on our fourth day to freshen the room. The gym has a lot of towels, so my husband would grab towels there and bring them to our room. The front desk staff was also mediocre. They were friendly here and there but mostly seemed uninterested. I stayed at the Hampton with my parents when they visited me while I was at Tech, and that hotel offers larger rooms and better storage if staying for several days. Part of me wishes we had stayed there for the sake of ample storage. If you're staying a night or two, the room is just right. The other thing we didn't care for was the mattress. My husband and I like our beds FIRM, and this one was way too soft. The on-site laundry room has two washers and two dryers, and it was pretty hectic trying to do laundry when others were using the machine as well. All of that said, I would stay here again but not for a long length of time (unless I paid for a larger room). We noted it was our anniversary, and nothing was said upon checkin - and we weren't given a larger room, even though we had a high status as Marriott members. Those factors, plus the lack of storage, are why I didn't give a full five stars. I do hope this hotel does well since the only other good one in town is the Hampton. The location of this Courtyard is prime, and you're within five minutes of downtown, Tech, and restaurants.

Compared to the situation in Vidalia, this was basically Michelin-star dining. If you're staying anywhere near Natchez, do yourself a favor and just book the Hampton Inn. Skip the other spots unless you're specifically looking for a haunted house experience or a historic B&B where you might accidentally become part of the family. Here, you get a full, clean, modern setup--and most importantly, peace of mind that no one is going to touch your stuff, your food, or your immune system.
