We stayed here in June for my birthday and a mini honeymoon and everything about this bed and breakfast was absolutely splendid. The value for the price is extraordinary. We had a lovely room that included a kitchen, utensils, sink, kitchen table, couch, AC unit, bathroom, closets, etc. everything was perfectly clean and well take care of and we had an abundance of fresh towels at all times. The room was even stocked with fresh cream, milk, coffee and tea....the best part is the view - OMG!!! The bed and breakfast is situated directly overlooking the most gorgeous view of the water. We spent HOURS sitting in the enclosed porch just reading and relaxing and breathing in the ocean air. It was our favorite part. Upon arrival, there were fresh flowers in our room. The next morning, we were surprised at how fresh and delicious the breakfast quiche, fruit, smoothies and muffins were - the ultimate hospitality comfort! The owners are very sweet, warm, accommodating and friendly. We loved conversing with them and meeting their adorable dog. We laid out in the hammock and walked down the street to ports pizzeria, which was incredible. It's so close to town and has everything you need and that classic, antique, quaint home ocean feel we all dream of when we think of the perfect bed and breakfast. Don't hesitate, just book. This place is going to be somewhere I go for the rest of my life to relax, if they're open for the next few years. A very, very special place to getaway and relax, indeed. read more

Kathryn and Peter are the most gracious and accommodating hosts at this charming seaside B&B, with accommodations that are spacious, very comfortable, and important for us, dog friendly. We had a second floor suite with a pretty view of Boothbay Harbor and the famous footbridge connecting the quieter side with the more lively, touristed section. Bayside Inn is on the quiet side, a mere five minute walk from the footbridge, with commanding views, a plush lawn above the tidal zone and rocks, and Adirondacks for sipping wine and playing with the pup. Peter and Kathryn are both present to attend to any need, and are a wealth of information about the area. The breakfasts are delicious and creative, and you can either commune with other guests or find your own spot on the comfortable porch out back, looking over the harbor. The bed soothes the weariest of backs. The overall New England charm and personal touches of the Inn and grounds make you wish you lived there. It's the kind of place you seriously consider booking again for the next season or year, before you ever walk out the door. It's a hard place to leave. read more

We came here the weekend of Oct 25th to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Came after peak season ended so prices are more reasonable. One problem with that is most places close for the winter after Columbus Day so half the shops & restaurants were closed. Bayside Inn is a nice little place but since peak season was over we missed out on breakfast. Was looking forward to have a nice homemade breakfast. Oh well. The room is small but nicely adorned & cozy w/ nice subway tiles in the bathroom. There are 2 other rooms on the 3rd floor but were being renovated so we weren't able to check them out. All in all I will definitely be back when they're still serving breakfast. read more

Horrible customer service. Husband and wife need a serious attitude adjustment. They were awful to tourist walking by. Small town people with very small town personality. Seems they are some of many who have lost their joy for humans. Don't lose faith in humanity. read more

Cute place in a nice location. Sunset views were spectacular. I'm struggling with moody people in this area. Everybody seems unhappy and a little put off. I hate to say it's cause of Covid days, seems some people lost a lot of their joy. But it is time to move on, put your smile on, find your joy and Peter put your phone down. Kathryn and Peter just seem to have their game faces on but really can't stand each other. Enough to make you uncomfortable. Maybe don't do business together if you don't enjoy being around one another. I saw them lash out to some near by visitors. It really put me off and my husband felt the same way. Maybe with time some will learn to live happily again. Til then cheers, we'll be taking our business elsewhere. read more

Our family found this wonderful inn during a stressful time. A family member who lived in the area was ill and we were back and forth to Boothbay Harbor. Kathryn and Peter, the owners were so wonderful and went above and beyond with their kindness and thoughtfulness. This inn is the best place I have ever stayed in all my years of traveling. The attention to detail is stunning and so appreciated. The rooms are cozy and comfortable and nicely decorated. I would give them 100 stars if it was possible. If you are ever in Boothbay Harbor, Bayside Inn is the only place to stay! You won't be disappointed! read more

Our hosts Peter and Cathryn were very kind and prepare an excellent breakfast, those blueberry muffins tho! Peter even watched our sons while they took in the race going on outside so we could sit and chat with the other guests over our meal. The views are lovely, the area is lovely, the B&B is lovely! read more

Amazing B&B, amazing location/view, and amazing hosts, Peter and Kathryn. Open B&B's are hard to find in the dead of winter, but Bayside is cheerfully open year round. Despite being the only guests, Peter put on a full warm breakfast for us at the exact time we wanted it. On the first night, they made restaurant suggestions for the few places open in town and we had a great dinner at the Boathouse Bistro (reviewed separately). On the second night, we wanted a lobster dinner and Peter and Kathryn suggested buying live lobsters at the Atlantic Edge lobster pound nearby. The pound steamed them for free, and we had four delicious 1 1/2 pound soft shells for a total of $48. Then Peter and Kathryn set the table for us with all the trimmings, including lobster crackers and melted butter, all complementary. We gave them a nice bottle of wine in return. They say it can get a little crazy in the summer with five rooms full of guests, but they would do their best to give everyone the same excellent treatment. The rooms are generous in size, well equipped, and with plenty of glasses, plates and toiletries. We needed to bring nothing at all. the beds and bedding were perfect. Overall, highly recommended and much better than staying in a standard hotel. read more

Our family has chosen the Bayside Inn 3 times which says a lot! Not a frilly place, but very clean, comfortable, relaxing, and conveniently walkable to the harbor village, galleries, eateries, and docking areas for all boating excursions. The quaint harbor view is available from the lovely backyard or cozy sunroom and makes monitoring tides, boating activity, and village life a joy. The food served for breakfast is scrumptious. The innkeepers are accomodating and always have great suggestions for how to spend a day in the area and where to eat. For most people, the Bayside has it all. read more
