We had a lovely room that included a kitchen, utensils, sink, kitchen table, couch, AC unit, bathroom, closets, etc. everything was perfectly clean and well take care of and we had an abundance of fresh towels at all times. The room was even stocked with fresh cream, milk, coffee and tea....the best part is the view - OMG!!! The bed and breakfast is situated directly overlooking the most gorgeous view of the water. We spent HOURS sitting in the enclosed porch just reading and relaxing and breathing in the ocean air. It was our favorite part. Upon arrival, there were fresh flowers in our room. The next morning, we were surprised at how fresh and delicious the breakfast quiche, fruit, smoothies and muffins were - the ultimate hospitality comfort! The owners are very sweet, warm, accommodating and friendly. We loved conversing with them and meeting their adorable dog. We laid out in the hammock and walked down the street to ports pizzeria, which was incredible. It's so close to town and has everything you need and that classic, antique, quaint home ocean feel we all dream of when we think of the perfect bed and breakfast. Don't hesitate, just book. This place is going to be somewhere I go for the rest of my life to relax, if they're open for the next few years. A very, very special place to getaway and relax, indeed.

June 2023. Sally W…read more Lovely B&B within a few minute walk to everything. Inn is adorned with artwork for sale which was some of the best we saw on our trip. Our first floor room was small but had an en suite bath along with a sitting nook with a lovely view of the harbor. Breakfasts were amazing and just the right way to start the day. We loved the shops in Boothbay better than anything we saw in Bar Harbor. Quality merchandise. Porch was relaxing with its view of the harbor, and we were directed to a lovely shore walking path a few minutes away. Ports of Italy, Harborside 1901, and Harbor Treats are not to be missed. Captain Sawyer's is just a few minutes from the amazing Coastal Maine Botanical Garden.

Your location could not be better as you can easily stroll to all the shops, restaurants, and waterfront services. The breakfast was amazing. The photo ops are endless here. The lobster bake for dinner was scrumptious! The owner, Todd, has a brother who is a lobster fisherman. He caught our lobsters the morning of the wedding! The corn on the cob was so sweet and the potatoes fluffy! Todd is a wonderful host and is so welcoming. I showed up a little early so we were browsing outside. Todd came right out and introduced himself and gave us a little tour and some interesting history of how his predecessors opened the Bed and Breakfast. I would've given 5 stars but we did have some "communication" issues with Todd's wife, Karen. In all fairness to her, she did admit to me on the phone that she was only involved since Todd's Mom had passed away 2 years ago. I don't think this is her "niche" and, sadly it shows. Imo, she doesn't seem like a "people person" which caused some unnecessary stress at times. However, I do have to say she is a fantastic cook! Overall, I do recommend The Mooring Bed and Breakfast.

The rooms were very dirty and had a lot of bugs. There were wasps outside on the balcony and had a nest in the rotting wood above the door and my son is severely allergic so we could not use them at all. The walls were paper thin, and we could hear literally every conversation being had next to us and any movement whatsoever. The fixtures were falling off of the wall in the bathroom, and the linoleum floor was disgusting and pulling up at all of the sides, creating mold. We paid almost $1200 for two nights which is an exorbitant amount for such an awful experience. I had been in contact with "Jersey" regarding this matter and not only did he lie to me multiple times about having this situation addressed, but he also literally hung up on me during our most recent conversation. This "hotel" is horrifically managed, and they do not care about their guests at all. Would absolutely not recommend staying here under any circumstances.

Our spirits were buoyed by owners, Shari & Paul Cunningham, whose wonderful property includes a view of the harbor in Round Pond, perennial gardens, old stone walls, and adjacent forests. We were made to feel right at home in the restored historic (1700's era) farmhouse, with its common rooms for reading, visiting, dining, and relaxing downstairs, as well as its five beautifully decorated guest bedrooms upstairs. Shari is an outstanding cook, serving hearty, nutritious, artfully presented breakfasts every morning. She incorporates fresh eggs from her flock of lively hens whose happy clucking can be heard throughout the day. We look forward to our next trip when we can once again savor the scrumptious frittatas, homemade blueberry muffins, blueberry pancakes, and delicious fruit cups at the dining room's table that looks over the sloping backyard fields and the ocean beyond. Shari was willing to accommodate our request for specific dietary needs. At the top of your "Midcoast Maine Must Do" list should be a stay with Shari and Paul at The Chamberlain House.

An Absolute Wedding Treasure…read more When we decided to get married, we wanted to avoid the ridiculously high costs of weddings, and wanted a smaller, "family & close friends only" event, but still wanted a special day, of course. We toyed with the idea of a backyard wedding with "bring food as your gift" on the invite, ditching all the little expensive extras, but it wasn't coming together, especially when Mom fell sick. How lucky we were that a relative suggested the Mill Pond Inn, which was three houses down the street from their home in Nobleboro. It's a cliche, but The Mill Pond Inn is indeed a treasure. Bobby and Sherry are fantastic. We visited the place the summer before our wedding. A few months later, when we first talked with Bobby about our wedding schedule, he said "nah, you don't wanna do that" to a few of our ideas, and, as we were looking at each other during the phone call and realizing he was right, we decided to let him and Sherry run the show. What an *absolute* *relief*! We didn't have all the hassles that other folks warned us about when planning weddings. It was all just handled, and handled well. The food was great (we picked the menu, Bobby and Sherry did the rest . . . and we highly recommend bringing in their neighbors, Leigh and Sharon, who did a pre-ceremony oyster bar with local oysters for the guests as they arrived). Bobby and Sherry dealt with everything but the flowers (and there was a local florist that handled that) and music (we chose a playlist that we played over their sound system). There was *none* of the pre-wedding stress that we'd heard about from so many people. That itself was worth every penny! Speaking of which, the budget Bobby proposed was more than workable (yet another relief). All told the cost was well *under* what we'd budgeted. All we had to do was get invites out (tell your guests to bring swimwear -- the kids and a few adults had an absolute ball jumping into the pond and swimming during the meal and on into the afternoon). Part of the deal was that you had to rent out the entire place, but it was no problem filling the rooms with out of town relatives, and we in fact ended up reserving rooms in one of the homes across the road, which was right on the lake, which gave an added bonus of having lake access for a couple of days. Bobby and Sherry even accommodated Mom, who was in a wheelchair, by letting us bring and set up a portable AC in the front room -- she was very concerned about overheating in her condition, and this made her feel much safer. The day could not have been more magical. It was hot, but they knew where the shady spots were, and we set up so that the chairs and the gathering were in the shade when is was time for the ceremony. The setting was beautiful, and the weather cooperated (though Bobby had contingency plans in case of rain). We give Mill Pond Inn our highest recommendation -- we've given them permission to use our wedding photos, and we gave them our number if you want to hear it directly from us! David & Natalie
