Stayed here for our anniversary in early April. It was my first time in Maine, and the owners are both very sweet and made sure we always knew how to reach them if we needed anything. We stayed in room 11 which had lovely views of the water--it's fun to watch the tide change so much throughout the day. The floors/ceiling were a little bit thin so you could sometimes hear your neighbors (also late at night) but nothing too bad. Breakfast was delivered promptly every morning during our specified window that you choose the night before, and there was always good variety to choose from. The food itself was decent, nothing to write home about but nice to have in bed with the view! read more

Fantastic location ! Our family recently spent Thanksgiving holiday at the Harborage Inn. I highly recommend staying here. The rooms were incredibly comfortable, bed was fabulous and the bathroom even has a towel warmer ! A great touch. The hottub was really wonderful and could not beat the view , watching the sunset . Would not hesitate to stay here again. The friendly and informative hosts (who live on-site) have thought of everything you need for a wonderful stay. The clean and spacious rooms are comfortable, plenty of outlets/charging station for electronics. ROKU TV. Plenty of big windows. Lux bedding. Daily housekeeping. We stayed in the double suite, our cousins up on the third floor. The views of the harbor were so beautiful. Very quiet at night and all rooms have spacious balconies. You can walk right down to the water from here and a quick walk to the shops, restaurants and attractions. One of our hosts carried our bags upstairs for us, who does this these days? Our hosts also lent us a book concerning the history of the area. breakfasts are cooked to order. Fresh, tasty ingredients. They do not skimp on anything. In each room is a big notebook containing informative info, including nice choices of restaurants to try. We ate at a number of restaurants offering amazing food, the highlight was The Ports of Italy. The four of us have zero complaints! Would stay again. Just visited Boothbay Harbor to see Gardens Aglow and stayed at this wonderful Inn. Beautiful views of the Harbor from our room. Unbelievably delicious cooked to order organic breakfast delivered daily to our room. Easy walk into town and just a 10 min drive to the botanical gardens. The only negative was that it had just snowed and the driveway, parking lot and walkways never got plowed. The bathroom in our room could use an update, which I assume will be happening in the future because a crew was onsite when we were checking out updating the bathrooms and floors in 2 of the rooms. We picked this inn on a whim as we passed by. The beautiful exterior is not just a facade the whole building is charming and welcoming. We were greeted graciously and enthusiastically making us instantly feel welcomed. Breakfast was delivered to our room and we ate on the veranda outside as we watched the sunrise. Beautiful little Inn with wonderful hospitality. Alex and Maria are super accommodating. They've created a beautiful establishment in the heart of Boothbay! Their COVID room service breakfast was delightful. We were spoiled with dill, goat cheese omelettes, delicious French toast, and a spinach and feta omelette on the last day! Our rooms were clean and always well stocked with fresh towels, coffee pods, and bottled water. Definitely check them out, you won't regret it. And the view is just magical! read more

We highly recommend this Inn. Our room (#8) has a lovely view of the harbor and it is like a little birds nest--so comfy and comfortable. With a table and two chairs, a fluffy king-sized bed and large bathroom, very comfortable. The breakfasts they prepare are excellent and the service is amazing. When we struggled with the cable box, they were right there to help. We stayed in four Inns on this trip including the fabled White Barn Inn in Kennebunkport and this one was our favorite stop. read more

Don't want to come off hard here but the room I requested ( #8) was for the view of the harbor. The photo on the website does show a good view of the harbor but that was taken years ago. Since then the trees have grown and now block that view entirely. However, Troy the owner and entire staff were great and served up a very nice breakfast. Stayed two nights here this summer and wish I could have stayed longer. Emery cooked a delightful breakfast both mornings (menu was posted outside the night before so you had something to look forward to) featuring local and organic foods. Everything was quite delicious and made lunch a few hours later a challenge! The inn is far enough from "downtown" to be quiet and peaceful, yet just a five minute walk from all of the boat tours, restaurants, and primary attractions of the town. They had a hot tub available right by the water, but we didn't end up with enough time to take advantage of it. We did however spend some time reading on the large deck, as the tide rolled in. Overall, we had a great time and look forward to staying there again. read more

We stayed here during the off season, so there wasn't any breakfast. This is a nice place and the location is within walking distance of town. The owners are very friendly and helpful. I'm giving it four stars because the wi-fi speed is abysmal(Ookla speed test). Less than 4mbps down and about 1mbps up with lots of dropped connections. If you have to conduct any business via laptop, forget it! read more

Wow! What a wonderful place to stay as part of a Maine coastal adventure. Great location -- walking distance from all Boothbay has to offer, but in a quieter area than some of the other places to stay. All of the staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The breakfast was to die for - wish I knew the recipe of the blueberry coffee cake! Plus all the surprise cookies and tea waiting in the afternoon... it can't be beat! Really loved the lawn and dock area. Very nice place to enjoy the end of a long afternoon! Room was great. Nice and big. If anything, bathroom was a bit small, but made no difference on our trip! Hope to come back soon !! read more

One of the best places to stay in Boothbay Harbor Maine. Oceanfront is a stretch but you won't care. A combination of a Bed and Breakfast and the amenities of an upscale hotel. Very nice rooms, they did a complete renovation recently. Wrap around decks with comfortable seating to watch the world goby or the tide doing its thing. Owners were friendly and a great source for finding the best restaurants and bars. Located in the quiet part of town just 2 blocks from all the bars, music and restaurants. read more

Excellent stay. We were only able to spend one night, but this place was wonderful. The owners were kind and informative, and the place was classy and clean. We enjoyed breakfast tremendously- everything was organic and from local farms. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the towels. The towels they expected people to use as bath towels were really no bigger than hand towels. It was quite awkward and inconvenient. The whole thing wouldn't have been as bad if we had robes, which we saw in all of the other rooms, but our room didn't receive them. Otherwise, the place was wonderful. Great location, but the rooms were nothing special unless you got the updated rooms. I will commend them on their cleanliness and appointment touches, even if they were a bit too much. There seemed to be some object or tchotchke on everything so there was minimal space to put stuff without moving them. The decor was very homey/cozy but our linens appeared a little faded. The king bed was comfy though I think a queen would have sufficed and provided more space. It was nice having Direct TV as many of you are aware, Boothbay Harbor tends to roll up the streets very early even in busy season. Breakfast was adequate and there was one daily plated hot dish. Also available was granola, a cereal, hard boiled eggs, cinnamon and farmer's bread. The coffee was outstanding in addition to the two daily juices. All the items were listed on a chalkboard as to their local origins. It was pleasant enough and I realize this is a BnB but I would have liked perhaps a few more choices or a choice between two hot dishes, especially since I did not care for the hot dish on our second day. After experiencing European hotel breakfasts this was a bit of a culture shock in reverse. One thing we learned and thought was funny, was on our first day and that you had to get to breakfast early. Breakfast was 8:30-9:30 (coffee available from 7:30) and we went down at a leisurely 8:45 the first day and there was no outside seating and everyone was already eating. We are not young but easily were the youngest people at the Inn and everyone else was probably up a few hours earlier. The convenience to everything was outstanding, considering the parking in town was limited and/or paid. We are walkers and actually went back and forth several times to get in our steps and linger. Boothbay is not a hustle/bustle place but a relax and chill place and hasn't changed since I came here as a child. The innkeepers were pleasant and tried to be helpful but I think we are spoiled by the service and attention of the large hotels. Definitely laid back service here and there are no resident innkeepers. Another thing I would like to mention is the bathroom shower. My wife and I are smaller in stature yet we had difficulty maneuvering our room shower. Very difficult to bend or turn around, this is a kid size shower (in our prior home we had one in our lower level that was actually bigger and sold as a kid shower) so if you are average height or more, you will need to get one of the other rooms which I assume has larger showers. There was a small in-room sink and several vanity mirrors. Parking is sufficient for the eleven rooms on site and the lot leads down to a swim platform where you can sit and look out onto the harbor. Some of the areas at the inn are off limits as they are for use by certain rooms. Overall it was a different experience and nothing special, one we likely won't try again, though like I said, we may be spoiled by the amenities of the large or boutique hotels therefore, before choosing any BnB, research well and be aware of what each BnB offers and then go with the proper expectations. read more

Excellent! The service was wonderful from start to finish. We were staying over for 1 night on our way to vacation, and had to arrive after 10pm. The hosts made sure we had everything we needed for a safe and secure arrival. The room was spotless and cozy with some cottage feel, as you would expect near the beach. The huge bathroom with heated floors and spa tub was a wonderful unexpected surprise. The room was very well equipped with a nice mix of vintage furniture and modern amenities. Free wifi was a great bonus as I had to spend some time working in the morning. Breakfast was lovely and well prepared and the staff are all so pleasant. I'm wishing we had a longer stay to enjoy this property. We will definitely be back! read more

We've been to many bed and breakfast around the country and in Italy, Austria and Switzerland and we enjoy them more than hotels. This inn is nicely situated on the bay with nice views of the tides going in and out. It is spotless; the rooms are nicely decorated and not overstuffed. Breakfast offered many choices and the gormet selection of the morning were all delicious. The reason I'm giving this inn 4 out of 5 stars is because the owner and her staff were distant people, not warm , companionable persons. That is what makes a bed and breakfast stand out; the personable interest the staff have in their guests. That was missing here. What was apparent was a very tightly run schedule , almost militant. If you don't mind about the "coldness" of the hosts, definitely make this your inn. Other than that what a wonderful stay. read more

We have stayed at this B&B a bunch of times in several different rooms. We will admit to having favorite rooms, but all the photos on the website are up to date and fair representations of the inn. Why do we keep going back? Well the location is perfect because parking in the downtown area (where all the action is) can be a challenge, the view is wonderful and even if you don't have a room with a view, you can sit on the deck and enjoy it, the rooms are comfortable and the breakfasts are generous and delicious, but that's not why we keep coming back. It's the people! Troy and Emery are a class act their staff are friendly yet professional. Everything is spick and span clean and they take pride in what they do. Personable without being pushy. Troy is also great for recommendations of where to go and what to do and where to eat/drink. We keep coming back every 4th of July holiday for a reason. . . it's just wonderful there! read more
