On that note it is very close and walkable to to center of town. It's just across the foot bridge. I would most definitely recommend and would return for a stay!

The private lawn has chairs to enjoy the view, and games like cornhole. Yes, the breakfast is wow! Homeade and tailored for any dietary need as well, so very thoughtful. They provide snacks and drinks all day. Staff is wonderful, and we couldn't have asked for anything better. This is worth your stay! We will be back!

This is a review I don't want to write…read more Our 12-day road trip in honor of our being married 20 years was an incredible experience, which we shall cherish for the rest of our days. As much difficulty as I had planning it (for a variety of reasons I won't bore you with), everything ended up turning out GREAT. Ironically, though, the one place I was MOST excited to experience... Topside Inn... turned out to be our least favorite, and that makes me sad and even a little angry, and that's why I don't want to write the review. I've written many a negative review if a place warrants it, but this one still bothers me. It wasn't that it was horrible. No. In fact, I would probably say that our stay was even "decent" overall, but there were some annoyances and disappointments. I'll start with the disappointment. We stayed at this inn during our actual anniversary. The person assisting my travel agent friend who booked it said how excited they were at the inn. Here's the irony... not only did they do NOTHING for it, they couldn't even muster saying "oh, we heard it was your anniversary. Happy anniversary." NOTHING. Not one word. Not one gesture. Did I need them to do something? No. We had our own celebration, but at every other place we stayed for our 12-day trip, the other places somehow acknowledged our anniversary with kind words and/or some gesture... like a little box of chocolates or a 1/2 split of sparkling wine/champagne. Something. Did I expect anything? Not at all... but again, when the reservationist made an initial fuss over our anniversary being at THEIR place and how exciting it was, yeah, I expected at least a greeting. Now for the annoyances. I have a bad back and bad knee. The reservationist was given a full explanation of what our room needs would be. No stairs, easy access, difficulty with uneven ground, and they assured my travel agent friend they had the perfect room for us. They said the room would be on the ground level with no stairs involved. The problem is that they did not pay attention because I ended up dealing with very uneven ground walking up and down a gravel incline, along with a few stairs to boot, and they could have given us a room on the same level as the parking lot where we'd only have to wheel our suitcases a few feet to the room without any stairs, gravel or inclines. In a few words, they BLEW IT. It wasn't easy for me to deal with the slippery gravel, not to mention the incline and the few stairs, but I dealt with it. I just know it could've been MUCH EASIER if THEY had paid attention. I had never been to their property before, so I would have no way to know how things were laid out or what room would suit me best... but they did. The room itself was clean and SOMEWHAT comfortable. I say only somewhat because the mattress, at least in the room we stayed in, was very weird. The sides of the mattress severely sloped downward, so that when I would sit on it or even lay, I felt like I would roll right off... esp. on the side of the bed where I slept. This was an issue throughout our stay, and it definitely posed a challenge to deal with it. Another issue I had with the room was that the shower was small, but worse than that, it was incredibly slippery. I was terrified I was going to fall because there was nothing to hold onto; nor was their any non-slip mat or strips. People rave about the breakfasts served here. I was expecting some incredible elaborate feast, based on what we read and were told. However, I was completely underwhelmed with the breakfast when we were there. Basically, we were given scrambled eggs and sausage, neither of which was anything special in taste or presentation. There was some kind of strawberry sauce over a biscuit, and while it looked pretty, it had no flavor. I'm not a cereal eater, so I didn't have any. I don't know... it was a big miss to me. I just didn't see or taste why people think this is so wonderful. It completely eluded me. We paid a lot of money to stay here. It should've been a lot better for what we paid, and by the way, we paid less everywhere else and got much better service, much better comfort, and we were treated better by any of the other places we stayed at. There are enough other choices in this town that if we ever return, it won't be to this establishment. Again, it wasn't bad... it just wasn't great either.

An Absolute Wedding Treasure…read more When we decided to get married, we wanted to avoid the ridiculously high costs of weddings, and wanted a smaller, "family & close friends only" event, but still wanted a special day, of course. We toyed with the idea of a backyard wedding with "bring food as your gift" on the invite, ditching all the little expensive extras, but it wasn't coming together, especially when Mom fell sick. How lucky we were that a relative suggested the Mill Pond Inn, which was three houses down the street from their home in Nobleboro. It's a cliche, but The Mill Pond Inn is indeed a treasure. Bobby and Sherry are fantastic. We visited the place the summer before our wedding. A few months later, when we first talked with Bobby about our wedding schedule, he said "nah, you don't wanna do that" to a few of our ideas, and, as we were looking at each other during the phone call and realizing he was right, we decided to let him and Sherry run the show. What an *absolute* *relief*! We didn't have all the hassles that other folks warned us about when planning weddings. It was all just handled, and handled well. The food was great (we picked the menu, Bobby and Sherry did the rest . . . and we highly recommend bringing in their neighbors, Leigh and Sharon, who did a pre-ceremony oyster bar with local oysters for the guests as they arrived). Bobby and Sherry dealt with everything but the flowers (and there was a local florist that handled that) and music (we chose a playlist that we played over their sound system). There was *none* of the pre-wedding stress that we'd heard about from so many people. That itself was worth every penny! Speaking of which, the budget Bobby proposed was more than workable (yet another relief). All told the cost was well *under* what we'd budgeted. All we had to do was get invites out (tell your guests to bring swimwear -- the kids and a few adults had an absolute ball jumping into the pond and swimming during the meal and on into the afternoon). Part of the deal was that you had to rent out the entire place, but it was no problem filling the rooms with out of town relatives, and we in fact ended up reserving rooms in one of the homes across the road, which was right on the lake, which gave an added bonus of having lake access for a couple of days. Bobby and Sherry even accommodated Mom, who was in a wheelchair, by letting us bring and set up a portable AC in the front room -- she was very concerned about overheating in her condition, and this made her feel much safer. The day could not have been more magical. It was hot, but they knew where the shady spots were, and we set up so that the chairs and the gathering were in the shade when is was time for the ceremony. The setting was beautiful, and the weather cooperated (though Bobby had contingency plans in case of rain). We give Mill Pond Inn our highest recommendation -- we've given them permission to use our wedding photos, and we gave them our number if you want to hear it directly from us! David & Natalie

Even if I had had to share, it would have been no problem -- the owner is scrupulous in her cleaning. This B&B is very comfortable, recently remodeled, well-decorated, quiet, and classy, all at a reasonable price. The continental breakfast is good. The owners are friendly and helpful, and they know how to run a B&B well. It seems they have thought of everything. The location is excellent - close to all the activities and sights in Port Clyde, ME. And, only a 25-minute ride up the same highway to Rockland, ME.

Our first floor room was small but had an en suite bath along with a sitting nook with a lovely view of the harbor. Breakfasts were amazing and just the right way to start the day. We loved the shops in Boothbay better than anything we saw in Bar Harbor. Quality merchandise. Porch was relaxing with its view of the harbor, and we were directed to a lovely shore walking path a few minutes away. Ports of Italy, Harborside 1901, and Harbor Treats are not to be missed. Captain Sawyer's is just a few minutes from the amazing Coastal Maine Botanical Garden.

If you recall what a solid bed and breakfast was, before AirBnB ruined it all, there are some elements of such an approach at the MoHo. There are Zero, BS, hotel industry embellishments. You bring what you need aside from a towel. Most of the rooms are unheated. Luckily, it's a duvet joint, not a blanket racket. I found that to an essential part of the charm. If you run a little cold, bring extra layers. No sirens, no cars, no airplanes or blaring music. Just the sound of the wind, songbirds, gulls, and dingy bells in the harbor. Everyone goes to bed at 8 and wakes up at 5. A BIG pot of Coffee ready at 6!

They bend over backwards to try and make your stay memorable. The inn is a wonderful old Phippsburg home and has many different rooms you can stay in. The beds and linens were divine, the bathrooms more humble of the rooms I crept into to have a discrete look. Our room the Woodshed was an.....old woodshed! It overlooked the water, and the early morning brought....SILENCE! Wonderful....no noise, little light...thus we snoozed for ages.....and did other things in complete privacy.....but none of that is your business!!!!! The breakfast time is flexible, the food served satisfying and fresh. We had fresh scrambled eggs with ham mixed in, started with greek yoghurt and fresh berries...but you could choose from many items. Now onto the tea.....being a fellow innkeeper (who's standards are demanding!!!!) and BRITISH....I am VERY demanding on my morning cuppa....and they delivered! The home is impressive and Phippsburg and Bath in general are not like Camden....over developed and touristy. You can cycle from their inn to Popham beach and fort...where there is a great restaurant, not fussy, serving fresh lobster (out of the tank in front of you!) and a plethora of other dishes. John & Jackie the innkeepers try to please in a quiet and relaxed way, are not over burdening, and take pride in their home....but do welcome one to use many parts of it. The setting overlooks the water and is next to a church....I could go on....but won't....just get yourselves booked in when you are 'doing' the Maine coast.

John and his staff were so nice (Jackie was out of town, but sounds like she's great too) and we and our friends instantly felt at home. It's well worth the price, which is very much on par with other places in the area that aren't nearly as beautiful, comprehensive, or welcoming. I added a photo from first thing in the morning. I got up, grabbed some coffee and homemade granola with yogurt and fresh fruit and went and sat on the deck overlooking the river. Such a great way to start the day. A little hint - when you call to book, don't be put off by how laid-back they are about the reservations. I don't think they asked for any money up-front to confirm or anything. Being 'city-folk', we found this a little scary, but they are on the ball. Don't worry! There's a lot to do in the area, too, if you like the outdoors - go down to Popham Beach and take a walk, visit Fort Popham, grab lunch or dinner at Spinney's, hike one of the many trails, bring a bike and tackle the windy, hilly Parker Hill Road, or pop into Bath if you want a little more (but not too much) action. We'll go back for sure. Would love to visit in another season.

My key lime pie was delicious. The coconut really added to the dish. My son devoured his pub burger and had no complaints. My husband said his calamari and fish tacos were ok. The heirloom tomato salad was the best. The arugula has a nice taste to it along with the layer of ricotta cheese under it all. The flavors really blended well with this dish. The bathroom was 10/10 for me they had a theme and ran with it and I love it. The lobster themed wallpaper really made it overall we had a nice lunch. Nothing spectacular. Maybe dinner is the meal to have here. We went at 2pm for a late lunch early dinner.
